My wife took our vehicle to get inspected at 11a.m 1:30p.m. no phone calls. Showed up to the shop and they just starting the inspection, knowing I needed the vehicle back by 1:30pm. Lost my service.

You get what you pay for. They are very honest and fair but not cheap. Marty and his crew do excellent work. It's nice to go to a place with 100% confidence that they won't suggest any work that isn't necessary.

They didn't put my front brakes and rotors on properly, so 6 months later I'm here again to have them fix the problem. My appointment was at 9 am. Took them forever to even talk to me, said the mechanic wouldn't even be in til 9, and when he finally showed up, he never asked me what was wrong or anything. Just took my car. Then after, asked what was wrong. I told him, and he said that it wouldn't be able to be serviced because they don't have the parts. I love 45 minutes away from this place to have to come here 3 times, first time to tell them what was going on (but apparently they didn't have time to talk to me or look at the car then), then again to have them check my brakes (which they never did), and I'll have to come in a 3rd time to get this fixed. I'm beyond angry. Do NOT come here for car service.

Wow. An actual honest auto repair shop! The owners are extremely nice and friendly. Their prices are very reasonable. I have been going to them for about 3 years after my other mechanic closed. There's only one time that they refer to me the dealer because they don't have the proprietary computer system to do the work. They could have just fix it and charge me, but they were honest enough to say that in order to get the right thing fixed, the computer system is needed to diagnose the problem. That's honesty right there.

If you want good quality work with outstanding customer service from the entire staff this is the place to go! My mechanic was Frank he worked extremely hard to get my car repaired. I really appreciate his time and effort. Thanks again!

Went there without an appointment to get my car state inspected. Even though there were 4 people that were ahead of me that made appointments they was still able to get me taken care of and I was able to get my business taken care of at the MVA that same day. Always have had positive experiences whenever I deal with them. Plus their state inspections are the lowest or 1 of the lowest around.

Caroline Martin is who I’m assuming is the owner couldn’t be any more rude if she wanted to be. They quoted us 600 for an alternator replacement. The book hours is .7 hours and the new part was only 240. They thought we didn’t know what we were talking about so when I told the guy we weren’t having them do the work, he said he would just put the key under the floor mat. Apparently, the lady stated above wanted to charge us something and charged us 25 for absolutely nothing. Save yourself time, energy, and money so you don’t have to be ripped off by this place. Waste of time for sure.

My daughter took her car to Southern Maryland Tires to get her brakes checked. They told her $1100 for brakes and to turn her rotors. Decided to wait and make an appointment at Martins in La Plata. Cost was $745 for new brakes and new rotors. It was well worth the wait. I would much rather go to a family owed business who are honest and trustworthy than a chain just looking to take advantage of you. Highly recommend Martins in La Plata for any repair work. They also have a nice little gift shop.

Frank has an attitude problem. Plus, he’s not that great of a mechanic. 10/10 do not recommend this place. I tell people all the time to go somewhere else

Thought they were a bit rude when I first spoke to them. Didn't bother to look at my car until 4pm and told me the fix would be 1000. Wouldn't event tie up the part up, so I could take it somewhere that could fix it for less. The next place looked at it right when I got there and are only charging 400 to do way more work. I won't be back. The second time calling they were way more rude.

Hard to write a review on a place that treats you like family. Hell, I call in they know who I am they call me when work is done. It’s a family run business that’s been in the town for years and rightfully so. They take care of their customers.

We took our cars there for inspections, gas, an oil change, and a new set of tires. This was our first time using them, but going forward I think we'll use them for everything else we need with our vehicles. The front shop has a very hometown feel, and the service is extremely friendly and welcome. From the first time we called them to the time we picked up my car, they made us feel very comfortable putting our trust in their service. Anytime there was an update to the car they called us right away to let us know, and anytime we called them, we got through immediately. They did a great job, and even though they don't have the tires on-site, they were able to order them, put them on, and have me out the door, in under 24 hours.

My go-to for Md. inspections! I have had two cars inspected by Martins(07/24 and 03/25)-first thing I can say is NICE people! From making the appointment to picking up my car-no complaints. My appts both times were met I got my car back within two hours and with a cute and funny message that my buggy was ready! I love going in and looking at all the nostalgic Knick-knacks-for a service station it’s remarkably clean! The staff was thorough and took the time to answer any questions I had! I highly recommend Martins for all your car service needs or gas!

Unfortunately, this quaint little local location won’t be our go to for auto service, or anything. We took our vehicle in to assist with the locking mechanism on the door. The mechanic, I believe Frank, said he could do it - no problem. He tells my husband that he needs a part that he can’t get until after the holiday so my husband looked to see if he could find it and he did but it was an hour away. He called Frank to let him know who said that he would already be gone at that point. My husband responded letting him know to go ahead and order the part then and we’d get it after the holiday. After the holiday, my husband calls to check the progress and he says “you never brought me the part.” K, that wasn’t the conversation that was had. Also worth mentioning, this specific part was not broken when the vehicle was brought in. The function that this part allows was fully operational prior to Martins messing with it. We tell them to put the door back together and took it to an independent, highly qualified mechanic who confirmed that Martins in fact had to have broken that part based on the way it was left and there was also now something else that needed to be replaced as a result of their handling. I regret going with the closest place to our home for convenience. We also paid for whatever it is they did- which at this point as far as I’m concerned I paid $300 for weekend parking, broken parts and a piece of wood holding my window up inside of my door (when the window was fine at drop off). Maybe this was an off-day(s) but I would never trust Frank with my vehicles again and I’d proceed with caution for any other service.

I took my brand new truck for a state inspection and I got it back with a huge scratch. I brought it to the owners attention and I was blown off. Don’t come here unless you want damage to your car!!

For years my family has used Martin’s Service Station for our Gas, Towing and Service needs. Family owned business. Marty & Caroline always have a smile on their faces and they always say hello. On our special occasions we ask if we can have something posted on their marquee in front of their Station on Rt 6 in La Plata
