Would absolutely not recommended to anyone! They wanted to keep my car two days after I made an appointment. I dropped it off at 8am they didn't start working on it til 3. The person who called had no clue What was going on and couldn't answer any of my questions. So I decided to show up at 4 my car wasn't even being worked on. Would never go back . Horrible service. Waste of money

You honestly can't find a better mechanic in town. They are very honest and they do great work. I had to drive to Los Angeles and they fixed my air conditioner in one day. I won't take my jeep anywhere else.

I can't begin to explain what a relief Matt was when I needed a mechanic. I have never felt more like an auto mechanic was being straight up with me. I have been to a few other small business mechanics in Modesto and I would not recommend anyone other than Matt's Automotive. Not only was the honesty a relief, but so was the cost!

I called Matt's Automotive Repair to get a price quote for a tune up on a 2006 Ford Explorer. He had to call me back he said. In the meantime I called Spee-Dee Oil Change and Tune up. They told me 260 for regular tune up and 340 for high performance tune up. I had already told myself in my mind that those were both good prices. Matt called me back about 30 minutes later and began by explaining what he was gonna have to do and how long it was gonna take and instantly in my mind I said, this guy is gonna try to get me, and sure enough, he tells me the parts would be about 160 and that was just spark plus and a fuel filter and then told me labor would be about 380 so he quoted me 540.00 I believe. I told him what Spee-Dee was gonna charge and then he kinda began to fluster a sentence as I told him I was gonna go with Spee-Dee and he said ok and hung up. I know Covid hit everyone hard the last 2-3 years but it seems like everyone is trying to get over. We need to get back to honest pricing. Because if the economy is hard on you then guess what it's hard on me too!

This guys are great. They look for ways to reduce your cost of repairs and save you some money. My car had a/c problems other shop charge $ 1500 but I took same car to swann, they only charged $430. I thought that was incredible, and this guys are very reliable.

Seemed great at first. I told them I needed my tire pressure light turned off (I knew it was 2 sensors that needed to be replaced) and I wanted to know why my car shook so bad. We went for a ride he told me it was the motor mount definitely. So he suggested I leave it so he can lift it and check under. I explained I really needed the tire pressure light off aswell. I turned the key in and signed the paper for 96$. She assured me the light wouldn't be an issue to turn off at all. That they would run the machine on it, no problem. So they call me with prices about the motor mount (can't afford it) when I got to asking about the light she explained to me their machine wouldn't work on my car, and that regardless I still need to pay the 96$ for the full diagnosis , even though the full diagnosis wasn't complete. When I got there I told them I was confused why they weren't able to fix the sensors. The mechanic explained to me they couldn't do it anyway, because they would have to remove my tires, and that isn't a tire shop so they couldn't replace the sensors anyway. If I knew they weren't doing the full diagnosis I could have paid that somewhere to have it all completed. Now I have to go somewhere else, pay for another diagnosis then have it completed. If they would have told me they couldn't change the sensors I would have gone to a different shop. They were getting a quick buck out of someone that's forsure.

I have a new 2014 Chevy Sonic, That was having some problems keeping cool. When I walk into the office, the staff was very nice to me and was fast. They were able to check out my car that day and fix the problem within a decent time frame. The price was far, if not cheap. The only think I can say about the shop is if you blink you might pass it up. Oh and it was clean too.

I've taken my car(s) here a few times, and each time I was given professional courtesy and help. I was never given a run-around nor had someone pressure me into something I knew I did not need. All the mechanics I've dealt with there have been prompt in answering any questions I've had and skilful in diagnosing and repairing issues I've even had caused by a dealer's repair shop. I've already recommended this shop to various friends and family over the years - and I will continue to do so. A+ for always making me feel welcome and making sure all my needs were handled quickly.

I am so grateful for Matt's Automotive. I have always had a mechanic in the family who did our repairs. When they were no longer able to, we started taking our cars into Matt's. I took our car into a reputable tire shop for tires, they gave us a long list of repairs they insisted we needed asap. Took our car into Matt for the repairs and the car was not in need of any of those repairs. Not only are they honest, have more than fair prices, and do great work but they enjoy what they do.
