I have been going to Maxi since 2020. Steven has always been very fair and respectful, loved him. My experience last week has ruined all respect I had. Brian was very disrespectful and dismissive when I explained what was going on with my car. He quoted be $800 to fix the headlights on my Fusion. When I got my car to get a 2nd opinion, he let me know that's not how mechanics work and next time I would be charged. I know they're known for free estimates, but apparently not anymore. I got 2 more quotes on my car, both said what Maxi diagnosed with was incorrect. Maxi tried charging $800 but I got it fixed for $150. I don't like putting bad reviews, but if they did it to me, they'll do it to any other girl who doesn't know much about cars.

Great folks doing honest, local work. Brian and Barry are upfront and plain-spoken, exactly the type of people you'd like to work with. I first utilized them as an out-of-towner with a flat tire, and I now utilize them as a local needing routine maintenance. Each of these times, they've fit me in the same day I called, but have been honest about any time needs they have for completing the repairs. Recently a major part on my car needed replacing, and Maxi completed the repair. Less than two months later, it failed, proving to be a faulty part. They honored the warranty and replaced it (along with the labor involved), at no cost to me. As a woman who doesn't know a lot about cars, they've taken time to answer my questions about the problem, explaining the situation and didn't take advantage when other shops have. It's not as convenient for me to get to work, but I will gladly go out of my way to use them as a loyal customer.

I had to have my car towed here and with Barry's recommendation, it saved me a lot of $. He replaced the starter on my Honda CR-V at a reasonable cost. Very friendly and honest Service. I will be a repeat customer for sure.

Finding a trustworthy auto mechanic is one of the most stressful things about moving to a new state. After going to the Volvo dealership (by default) and being quoted $800 for a part that cost $200 - I took a chance on Maxi Auto last year- and I'm so glad I did. Brian and Barry are terrific - fast, honest, plain-spoken, no BS, great service and super reasonable. As Brian put it "We're not here to get rich. We just want to make a living". Today, I took my car in for a minor repair and was told "no charge". Pays to be a loyal customer, I guess. Highly recommend.

We were breaking down slowly from Southern Illinois to Manchester TN, pulled over spent the night before we almost blew the engine.Woke up called Chattanooga. Found 2 geniuses, and a hard charging individual. They found the mystery ailment that was plaguing our car. From what we can guess, out of the kindness of their heart, after their first appointment, they put us next in line. Brought our 3 dogs water, got us back on the road. The motor would have blown if we drove another mile. The repairs that they did, got us from Chattanooga to Southern SC. Saved us a fortune by diagnosing our problem. Great service, and fair prices

Greatly appreciate these guys! My car had been running a little loud for 2-3 weeks, and I tried to convince my-self it was just the cold. Then, half way home it suddenly got VERY loud. They were super nice and friendly about my dropping off the car to be looked at. And, once they determined the issue with the exhaust, they called me to est how much it would be to fix since it was the reason I had come in, but had smelled what they thought to be a coolant leak and said they'd look into it and call me back about that too if I wanted. I mean this in a positive way: These guys found a few things wrong with the car I didn't know were problems. I tote my three dogs to and fro work with me every day, and regularly drive 1hr+ to go on hikes with them, often in areas without cell reception. I can't begin to imagine the stress of headache things could have been if my car broke down with them. They absolutely saved me from a VERY bad day some time this spring/summer, and enough cannot be said about that!!! (:

I was really hoping to give 5 stars..they get 4 ONLY because AFTER the estimate for my damages were assessed and communicated, A NEW ISSUE was DISCOVERED AFTER partial payment was ALREADY processed. Gave me a PERFECT ESTIMATE, but the HIDDEN CHARGE was $150 plus for THE NEWFOUND DISCOVERY. Take it how you see fit. The only reason I didn't give the extra charge was because I needed my car tomorrow for a doctor's appointment at 9:40am and they open at 8am. That's cutting it too close to and instilling too much trust...{aka hidden fee}. the pricing WASNT absurd. Being as standard rotars for my vehicle start at $30-$50 and $150-$200 for high proformace. Just wasn't planned upon... That, and I don't like hidden fees

I took my car in a few months ago because I needed brakes (mountain living) they called and said I needed an air filter so I said go ahead. When I picked my car up , my air was blowing cool not cold and blew hot when my car idled. I took it back assuming they messed something up and they told me I needed a new cooling fan and that it would cost $1,200 to fix. I obviously didn’t do that and then my dad told me to check the fuse box. Sure enough, there were two fuses missing coincidentally both having to do with the cooling fan. Both fuses have been replaced and my air works perfectly normal again. As a single mom, if I would’ve had to pay 1200 it would’ve set me back until Christmas. Sharing so nobody else has to deal with these scammers.

My car started acting weird in the middle of nowhere in Alabama. We looked everywhere for someone who could change our rear shocks and all the shops we called were either too busy or couldn't get the parts. These guys were super nice! I dropped my keys in the garage door (once they were closed) so they can start early in the morning. What's more stressful than having car problems when you're 1150 miles away from home? I am so grateful they took the time to do this for me. A1 SERVICE!

Highly recommend Maxi on Broad. Have a 2011 Murano that's needed what feels like constant repairs and I always take it to these guys. Brian, Barry, and Nick are awesome. They get it in fast, do great work, at a reasonable rate. Everyone is very friendly and understanding. Won't take my car anywhere else.

I went in with a crunched front bumper. Even though they are not a body shop, they popped it back into place in a few spots and got it road safe in less than ten minutes. I can’t say how much I appreciate this. Thank you!!

Vehicle broke down. So grateful we came to Maxi for repair. My vehicle was diagnosed right away and in a couple hours I was ready for the road again. Every one was friendly and very helpful. Brian was my first point of constant and from the beginning he won me over with his personality. Left with peace of mind and a 2 Year/24,000 Miles Nationwide worry-free warranty. Thank you Maxi! Grateful Customer

Great Customer Service and honest people. I got towed in with what could have been a serious issue. Thankfully they looked at it and within no time they had me on my way! If you’re in the area I definitely recommend them!!

These guys are solid. Brought my car in unannounced for some tire vibration and they handled everything with care and had me back on the road quicker than I anticipated for a pretty major repair. Wasn’t given the runaround and they didn’t try to oversell me on anything that wasn’t necessary. Glad to have found a shop in town I feel comfortable going back to. Thanks guys!

I called because of heating issue. Dropped car off at opening. Arrived to Check status at 2 pm car was not touched, but was told I was next when I showed up. Couldn't leave vehicle as it is only transportation. I said ill drop back by Monday. Again dropped vehicle off before opening. Call to check status at 2 pm was told you're next just getting few cars out soon. I arrive at 430 car in same spot technician asked if I was there to pick up . Yes, has anything been done? No. Long story short if you are covered up just say cant get to it until this day. If you dont plan to leave your car overnight, (I do not recommend it) then go elsewhere.

I couple of years ago I was briefly living in Chattanooga and my muffler had rusted out and was quite noisy. I took my car here one day expecting to have to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars to get a replacement. The same day they checked it out (without an appointment) and said they could just weld it back together and I could be on my way. It took just a couple of hours and to this day it has held up perfectly. I forget what they charged me but it was remarkably less than I had expected and the service was phenomenal. Can’t say enough good about these guys. Thanks! - all the way from Seattle WA

Nate and Brian at Maxi Auto on Broad St. in Chattanooga was phenomenal at diagnosing our radiator issue and providing a repair. We were traveling home from a vacation when our SUV broke down. The folks at Maxi’s did everything they could to get us back on the road quickly!
