This place is terrible. First off the manager there Tate is the most unprofessional and rude service rep I've ever spoken with at a mechanic. It doesn't surprise me that half of the negative reviews on this place mention him specifically. I asked him what they were gonna do with my car and he said "we're the professionals if you want to know I'm sure Chatgpt can answer for you". This passive aggressiveness is acceptable? I come in to get my car and he tells me my battery is toast which i had no clue about. He said " yea most people don't read the notes". Okay bud. I spoke with him on the phone and he told me none of this. Why didn't you communicate this with me over the phone? Why rely on your "notes" which aren't even notes but rather estimates. Not only that but my battery was completely fine that I got tested with two other separate establishments. They were just too lazy or incompetent to find the actual problem or worse were scamming me into wasting money on a new battery. I spent $160 there for them to tell me what i already know. This place sucks.

I give the service 2 stars because I believe something was done to my car but ultimately the process was slow and I didn't get the main things fixed. I have an older car and want to deal with a persistent brake light issue and engine light. The initial estimate was to repair many things and the notes were not clear. Overall it seem like the process was to fix everything that off and hopefully that will fix the problem. In the end I left with thet abs light still own after they repair multiple things with th brakes instead of inspecting to find the cause. The module. Which I can pay them to install as soon as I find one. Left with engine light off, next day engine back on again now with a slight burning smell. My expensive lesson.

I had an oil change done on my 2011 Toyota Prius at Meineke. I really appreciated the fair price and the detailed photo inspection of my car’s condition. It made the whole service feel transparent and trustworthy, which I value a lot.

It was a friendly shop but I scheduled an appointment online and and someone call me to reschedule for an earlier time because they got double booked. Also the oil change service took a couple hours. I hope there's better communication between corporate and the local shop to ease all future frustrations.

Waited almost 2 hours for an oil change because they forgot to order the filter.. on a slow day.. price at a discount.. was average.. but they did a free oil change for me last year.. so I wanted to give them the business.. only go to this location if you have the time to wait. Waiting room is sufficient.

I ran over some glass in the morning and I booked an appointment at 2PM to have it checked out bc my tire was looking flat. I was initially grateful because everyone else was booked out until Monday. I went about my day. After driving my car to the location, they said they had tried calling me to tell me they were overbooked (and they were instead going to service a tow that had arrived), couldn't take me, and the next available appointment was Monday. Please note, I received a couple of phone calls from an unknown number, but there was no voicemail or text (both of which were options), so I wouldn't have known it was them instead of spam (which is all I seem to get). I could have tried a first-come, first-served location had they left a voicemail or texted to let me know, or better yet, they could have not accepted the booking if they were so slammed like the other tire service companies in Seattle I called before them. I'm giving two stars only because they were "polite" in our interaction, but I didn't even receive an apology for the inconvenience or acknowledgement that they were causing an issue.

I had a very disappointing experience with the customer service at this location. I called to request a price for an oil change and spoke with Tate, who was unprofessional and unhelpful. Instead of providing even a basic estimate over the phone, he repeatedly insisted that I come into the shop for a quote. This is inappropriate and a waste of time when all I needed was a simple price range. Customer service should make things easier for customers, not harder. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location.

I was able to get my oil change & lube done on time. Meineke was very thorough with the inspection, they found a headlight bulb that had fallen out of the socket with a burnt receptacle. after someone installed it for me couple of weeks ago, could have caused an engine fire if not taken care off on time. They even offered to install new bulbs for me free of charge. Thanks for the excellent customer service.

Went in on Friday (12/6) morning, hoping to get my car serviced for an affordable price. Happy with how my car is running now and how much it cost. The parking situation at this location was confusing and was stressful trying to get in and out of this location. Annoyed that the whole time that the register dude was yapping at me, he never offered a receipt or itemized bill of the services done. Basically, would recommend doing business with this company, just gonna second think revisiting this location.

Rarely leave reviews, but this one… I had to. Terrible customer service. Scheduled a simple oil change appointment with Meineke after calling them, and the guy at the front desk accused us of “showing up unannounced suddenly” and “ambushing them”. They shouldn’t schedule appointments if they can’t provide the service. Even still that is an unacceptable way to just talk to people. (Cancelled my appointment and went straight to Danny’s Auto Repair - great people there btw) Not my first time, with my last repairs, their own mechanic on the side told me, the company and the service center is a scam, never buy parts from them, they charge you twice more, just like everything else they charge you for. Seriously, don’t go here if you at least if you want to interact with decent people and save some money. There’s a lot of other great mechanics nearby.

Excellent shop. Detailed investigation with photos of issues discovered, good work. They seem like a good crew. Small nit: the online "inspection report" site may make things seem worse than they are (eg: categorizing some surface rust as "damaged"). But talking to the mechanics in person cleared everything up.

A big shoutout to Tate and Danny at Meineke in Sodo! Tate makes complicated car stuff easy to understand and he’s genuinely a people person. Danny has magic hands—he fixed my car’s noise issue in no time. Their automated system to browse and learn about your car’s issues is also very helpful. They earned my recommendation!

Quick, easy. Front desk is friendly and knowledgeable. The ladies that picked up the phone are cute and helpful. Their system updates you via text which I love so nothing’s missed. This is my second time here and the area isn’t great, but they always protect my car in the garage overnight if needed. Thank yall very much.

My automobile had a muffler catalytic converter issue they were able to tow my car to their shop for free the first 5 mi are free. After a comprehensive they determine what needed to be replaced in a fairly timely manner they were very busy. What I like most about them is they stayed in touch well, they made a mistake in what was wrong and the person who made that mistake called personally to apologize and even though what was wrong was going to cost more to fix they fixed it with the original bid.

Had such a great experience with the owner. Nice, inviting, welcoming and got the job done at an affordable price . Customer service was top. As a Women, it’s always fearful going into these spaces and I honestly felt at ease being there. - went there for an oil change

Didn’t wanna leave a review, but honestly the mechanic was such a jerk I’m gonna do it. My gear truck (1 ton cargo van) wouldn’t start up a mile away from this shop. I had the towing company bring it in because of proximity and the first thing out of this mechanic’s mouth was he couldn’t help. I just wanted a simple jump, but couldn’t get a word in edgewise with all of his excuses. Mind you I came in an hour to closing, but that was out of my control as it took my insurance company time to find a tow truck that could handle the weight of the van. Two guys tried and couldn’t lift it. One guy tried to jump it, and couldn’t do it. When I finally convinced the mechanic to jump my vehicle he opens the hood and claims simple debris was a rats nest. “There’s your problem! There’s rats chewing away at your engine.” I just purchased this vehicle a week ago and the original owner took such good care of this car, I ignored him. When I asked him to go ahead and jump it, he went ahead and gave me tips on getting rid of rats instead. “Use dryer sheets, they hate dryer sheets.” Again, I don’t have a rat problem. He attached his cables to some random things on my car even I know was wrong, and proceeded to point and talk over me. He failed to jump my car and told me to come on in so we could get me logged for an appointment. Walked away like I was following him. I didn’t. Tow guy said he had a jumper and I asked him to give it a try one last time. He hooked up his cables to the correct terminals on my car and had it running in seconds. Mechanic came out surprised and sarcastic ah telling me to “Get on out of here!” since my car was running again. Thanks for nothing! Didn’t get a name because I was so over his attitude, but he said he’d been there a year. There is more to this story but this is the gist.

I love this place. GREAT customer service, ALWAYS. They tell me exactly wha has been done, what needs to be done and the time frame for the best results. From changing a headlight to replacing an exhaust system. I trust this team with all my vehicle needs.

My car was going nuts. It had more dash lights and system warnings than I imagined. I took it to the Meineke near me. They checked my car and broke the news to me. To just do all the work from the OBD monitor was going to be a little over $3000. This is a 10 year old car with a "salvage" title. I asked if there was a plan B, and their was, to fix the primary issue to make it drivable again and see how it goes. While doing the teardown for the preliminary fix the mechanic discovered the root cause which was some multiple system sensor. The sensor itself was bad. Like "that" the fix for my car dropped to just below $500. These folks are worth their weight in gold. I know mechanics that would have found the sensor, kept the car a few days, then charge the $3000 to fix it. The folks at Meineke are authentic, trustworthy, and honest. It's like finding a great doctor. You can relax and not worry knowing whatever it is will be diagnosed and you'll receive the best of care. Thanks to ALL the folks at South Downtown Meineke!!

This was my first time using Mienke and as long as I live in Seattle I will be going to this location and no longer a Pep Boys customer. The employees not only care about you but your car. With that being said- how you took care of your car before you brought it to them will also impact the cost of repairs. I know funds are limited for us all however I recommend having them do the 50 point inspection and because it’s broken down into red yellow and green they do it in a way that allows you to budget getting your car in tip top shape whether you have an 07 Corolla like me or a 2025. There’s usually coupons on the website that also helps with cost. Also if you ever have questions you’re welcome to give them a call and they will explain everything to you. While yes the waiting room isn’t designer ready it’s comfortable and you have a place to sit- there’s a few food resturants within walking distance that has wifi and a bathroom! Finally for your car to be fixed right and it to be safe it will take some time. My car was there over the holidays and yes did it take me 4 days to get my car- however I got all my Red & Yellow concerns fixed as well as it takes parts time to get shipped to the location but can feel an actual difference in how it’s driving. Looking forward to going back in June/July for my oil change and thank you all for your help/kindness 🙏🏾☺️

I would not recommend meineke to anyone based on my experience. I was quoted $400-$700 each for full brake replacement (not just the brake pads). I made an appointment over the phone and dropped off my car at 8am. I was told my car would be ready at 2pm for pick up as I told them I’d need it by the time I was off work so no later than 3:30pm. They didn’t contact me until 1:30pm to send me the estimate after inspection text and then they called seconds afterward and asked if I’d reviewed the estimate they had sent seconds prior. Tate said it would be $1,700 for front and back brake pads + rotors ($1,220 for the back and $500 for the front). And then listed 14 other points of work needed estimating another $2k. While they do give you a break down in this estimate-it’s not exactly broken down in the best way possible especially as it’s tacked on with all of the additional work they recommend based on the inspection so it’s a ton of info to sort through. While I not know cars myself, I was expecting to pay about 1k for these repairs. Their estimate seemed extremely high based on the numerous first hand accounts I received from family and friends who’ve needed this service. They were doing a $75 off special that they very quickly made up for in what was clearly an unnecessarily high estimate. On top of that it was now 1:30pm that they were providing this info-5 1/2 hours after I’d dropped my car off that was supposed to be done at 2pm. Tate now said that they needed “parts from different places and it would be done at around 6pm.” I asked Tate for a couple minutes to decide if this made sense and I’d call him back. After conversing with my bf it was clear that the price was inflated. I called back within 10 minutes and let the receptionist who answered know that I would not be getting any services done and that I’d be picking up my car. I called Lynwood Brakes for Less based on a family recommendation and the same service (front and back brakes) were done for $700 less and the job was done within 2 1/2 hours of me dropping my car off. Make an appointment elsewhere, especially if you’re a woman who doesn’t know cars, but knows something is off with the estimate/service being provided.
