The only reason I haven’t done 1 star is because the guys at the Dover location are kind & respectful. I took my Ford Focus in to replace the wheel hub and bearing assembly on the front 2 wheels. 2 days after picking my car up, my wheel fell off while I was driving. When I called Meineke to ask if they could reimburse the service they had done, they did not have an answer and told me they would get back to me. 2 days after the incident I received a call from Rob, who said he oversees the district and he’s located at the Newark location. He was condescending and downplayed my situation, and when I expressed how the situation could have been much worse if I was going 70 down Route 1, he said that’s not what happened and “humans make mistakes.” I don’t appreciate that it wasn’t a big deal for a reputable car repair shop to make a mistake that caused my wheel to fall off. Anyway, with lots of hesitation I ended up allowing them to fix the car, which they did for no cost and covered all of the tows. When I got my car back it was driving like it needed an alignment, so I went to another shop because I don’t want to deal with Meineke anymore if they couldn’t do an alignment after everything else.

Great service, quick and friendly up at the front desk. Went in without an appointment for an oil change. Took me right in, when completed, the mechanic even parked it up front and walked me through what he did. Great service! Drove away 30 mins later. Will be my new go to place for oil changes.

Had trouble with a vehicle and the check engine light coming on after I did all I could think of to get it to turn off. They were very up front with me about the cost and what they would do. Turns out there was air in the coolant hose and once that was bled out and refilled it fixed the problem. They did not try to BS me and did exactly what was needed to get the vehicle fixed. I will be back.

I needed a wheelchair alignment, (I have a handicapped accessible vehicle), and because it lifts and lowers with hydraulics its a little difficult than most. The gentleman was so kind and took the time to explain things to me. I thought it was going to cost so much more, but I was pleasantly surprised at the workmanship and the price.

Had my front brakes done by a friend and the rear done by mobile mechanic. Afterwards the front was making a grinding noise so I went to meineke for diagnostic. Said I needed a brake hose. Part ordered. When part arrived I left the car there all day and when I picked it up it seemed ok but to get the noise to happen you have to drive and brake a certain way so I paid. They wanted cash to charge me less. I paid $360 for the part and labor and they did do complimentary oil change. Well when the noise wasn't fixed I went to aamco to ask if hose was changed because during test drive paul told me they didnt even have to change the hose so I was skeptical. Low and behold aamco confirmed hose was not changed and when I went back to meineke they looked me dead in my face and said hose was changed. While they were checking for noise again, they went out and disabled the electronic parking brake and told me the mobile mechanic broke the plugs and everything and I would now need new rear calipers. Parking brake light was on flashing due to them disabling the parking brake. I feel they did that because they were mad I confronted them with that I knew the hose wasn't changed. Also to mention they pocketed my $360 cash and im quite sure because after that visit I realized I didnt get paperwork so I went back to tell them noise was still there and I needed paperwork for the job done for my records. After typing something up he told me if I go to another meineke the job will not be in thr system. Between all this im pretty sure brake pads were purchased and changed twice. They make you seem like they want to help you, and maybe some customers they do but for me they saw a payday. I now owe easy pay $1556 for a job that didnt need to be done bht meineke felt to make backlash when I confronted about the brake hose and my stupid self allowed them to do the job so I wouldn't habe to pay another diagnostic fee and they told me job would be $1406 and without telling me new price did the work and then told me new price after job was completed. They knew my demeanor by then and knew I wouldn't put up a fight or argue. It has taken me about 2 weeks to make this review due to I am so unhappy with how they took advantage but I didnt want to bash anyone because it doesnt help my situation at all but I came to realize, if I don't speak up someone else will go through this. At the end of the day, they are pocketing cash from the company, changing prices and not informing the customer until after, they do not have integrity, they are wrong about something and will not take blame.
