Brought my Honda pilot with an emissions issue and a light for maintenance. Was charged a “ridiculous amount” as I’ve been told by other mechanics, and my emissions problem is still a problem and wasnt resolved. The guy at the phone kept reassuring me that they could fix anything and also made weird comments like “oh you’re gona cheat on me when you leave.” That’s unprofessional. I didn’t know what to say and felt cornered. This was months ago, sometime in May/june. I just now got a text from their shop and decided to write this review.

i brought in my white mini for an oil change and to see what was up and what it needed. i dropped my key off at the office and went out to get some food. when i came back, the manager, ben, walked me through exactly what my car needed and how pressing each issue was. he then helped me apply for financing, and was understanding when i was denied, and helped me bring the bill down to the services i could afford without judgement, all while keeping his technicians engaged and up to date with everything going on up front. this is probably going to be the only place im taking my car from now on. and i know youre reading this, ben. i see you.

Absolutely amazing service!! These men were super nice from the moment I stepped in and fixed my car within a couple hours! They did a free car check detailing what’s wrong and prices for what needs to be fixed or what has been fixed. This is the only place I’ll come to for anything! On top of that they are very knowledgeable and charge less than Jiffy lube for oil changes!!

Feels like a scan. Brought in a car to get serviced because they offered a free inspection with any service. After inspecting the vehicle they sent me a list of suggested fixes. I opted to replace the battery for $230, when I went to pick up the car my bill was $507. The additional $277 charge was because they apparently had to do an electrical test to confirm the battery was faulty.... I never asked for or approved this. They also charge $225/ hr in labor... I would never recommend Meineke to anyone for car care. I wont even get my oil changed here anymore out of principle.

The boys at the shop - BEN AND HIS mechanic were so charming and kind to me this morning . I came in with a brake and battery emergency and it felt as if I was well taken care of. The young men gave a me a very small town vibe in the middle of busy pdx and it was amazing’ got me some great deals and explained everything in detail’ will be returning for future service and they always have coupons !!!!

Charged me 900 to replace spark plugs and and spark plug wires, assuring me this was the reason for the check engine light. Drove it out of their shop, and 1 of the wires wasn't installed correctly, then the check engine light came on again for the same thing they claimed to fix and wouldn't fix it without paying more money. DONT LET THEM SCAM YOU TOO. I WILL UPDATE THIS COMMENT UNTIL THIS PLACE BURNS TO THE GROUND.

From calling to get a quote for an oil change, to coming to pick up my car up was absolutely easy! The price quoted was spot on at time to pay. The price $159.99 sounds steep, however the cheapest oil change I could fine around for my specific truck. I called at around 10am and they could get me in for an oil change at 1pm, they said it would take around 45-60 mins. And it was 45 mins spot on! I’ll be back without a doubt!

I will never take my Mercedes Benz anywhere else but at this Meineke on Lombard street Portland. These people are very professional friendly and very competent. They could find the problem I had with my Mercedes in a few minutes. Mercedes Benz of Beaverton couldn’t find anything but wanted to change me double the price I paid at Meineke. My car drives like a new one. I’m very grateful for these competent people. Thank y’all very much.

THE BEST PRICE FOR A VEHICLE INSPECTION. Only $60 ??? I called 17 places and I’m so happy I ended up at Meineke. And they were thorough too!! They gave me a very detailed rundown of what is right, and the only 2 iffy things that were wrong. Give them your business 100% 🌟

Excellent customer service. These guys are great. A much better cost with better quality of service l, they let me know what was going on and my options. I've now alhad a couple of different services and really these guys are great, they haven't tried to get me to buy things I do not need, overcharge, or swap out for poor quality parts.

NEGATIVE 10 STARS. WARNING: DANGEROUS, INCOMPETENT SERVICE AT MEINEKE #1255 (206 N Lombard St, Portland, OR 97217) - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! If you don't read any other review, please read mine and save yourself a terrifying ordeal. My experience at Meineke #1255 was an absolute nightmare that has left me stranded multiple times with a dangerously inoperable vehicle. My car had NO issues like this before their service. On July 11, 2025, my 2005 Honda Civic got a "full inspection." Their own report noted "calipers starting to stick," but they NEVER OFFERED TO FIX THIS CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE. I approved all other major repairs, including brake fluid service, believing my car would be safe. The nightmare began immediately after I drove off: **First Breakdown (Minutes After Pickup): My car became dangerously inoperable - brakes seized, it stopped on its own, smoked, and was impossible to move. I had to pay for an AAA tow back to Meineke. In the video, you can see my car stuck & the flaggers/construction people helping me get my car to a safe place. This was after being stuck for a few minutes, at a dead stop. You can hear my engine revving to get it to move. **Second Breakdown (On THEIR Test Drive!): It got worse. While Meineke's team was test-driving my car, it broke down again in a busy intersection, blocking traffic! The police had it towed & impounded. Meineke (owned by PARC Auto, LLC) paid the $750 tow/impound fees, acknowledging some responsibility. After much pressure, Meineke's COO finally agreed to replace the front pads, rotors, & calipers at no cost (parts and labor), framing it as "good faith." I picked up my car on July 26, 2025, hoping the ordeal was over. But it failed AGAIN, immediately after their "fix": **Dead Battery: Upon pickup, the brand new battery I bought on July 3rd was dead, despite Meineke claiming they charged it. A technician had to jump-start it, warning it wouldn't restart if I turned the car off. **Third Breakdown (~2 Miles Away!): Only about 2 miles from the shop, the brakes seized again, the car came to a sudden stop, was tremendously difficult to accelerate, & smoke came from both sides of the front of my car. My partner, driving behind me, recorded this terrifying incident...the recording was through the windshield, but if you look closely, you can see the smoke & my car hesitating in the intersection. Both he & I had our hazard lights on. **Overheating & Damage: The car started to overheat, & my front driver side hubcap melted off due to extreme heat from the brakes. Meineke's Response: When I called Meineke, manager Ben Leatherwood deflected, claiming painted calipers might smoke and then astonishingly recommended I take my car to a different shop for diagnosis! He said they'd reimburse me if the other shop found their work was wrong. But the COO vetoed that call. I had my car towed for the fourth time to an independent, AAA-approved facility (Art of Maintenance) for a proper diagnosis. AOM's comprehensive report confirmed Meineke's repair failed & identified major missed safety issues (e.g., control arms/ball joints). The total repair estimate is $3,971.39. My 2005 Honda Civic's Kelley Blue Book value is $2,996.00. This means the cost to repair the damages caused by Meineke's negligence EXCEEDS THE CAR'S VALUE, rendering it a constructive total loss. Despite overwhelming evidence and my attempts to resolve this, Meineke/PARC Auto's COO, has firmly denied all responsibility, refused to offer any resolution, & stated this would be their "last communication" with me. He even threatened that a chargeback could be considered fraud. Meineke's repeated failures, dangerous negligence, & refusal to take full accountability are unacceptable. They are refusing to partially refund my original service cost ($1524.33) & cover any of my substantial damages. Do NOT trust your vehicle's safety to this Meineke location. What was supposed to be a routine service turned into a dangerous, never-ending nightmare. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Also, if you drive a late model car - Get AAA!

Kinda unprofessional, I walked in and there was just two 20 something’s sitting there with their feet on the counter scrolling through their phones. Once it was known I needed help they helped me out. I would advise going to a private mechanic, they were trying to charge me $160 to flush my coolant system (coolant in my car doesn’t require a flush or lifting my car up (??) which they told me they would need to do), 500 for a spark plug change. And I drive a Mazda and both of those things are really easy to do without dismantling my car. They should actually tailor the estimates to the car because people would actually pay the inflated rates if they didn’t know their cars…

The team at Meineke is super welcoming and helpful. They lay out each price and repair needed proactively and honestly, without pressure to do more than is necessary. They work with you and your budget, providing access to financing options if needed. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for with warranty and peace of mind that the work is thorough and done well. No fluff or mess. Plus they are very fast and consistent.

Edited, all fixed,!!!!!Edited from 5 to 2*; I took my car in Thursday to get an oil change and they saved the day with that! However, I had not driven the car much until today, Sunday afternoon and I have found the speedometer is now wildly inaccurate. It shows 10, 20, 30, 40 mph above what I am actually doing. Unpredictable. I can't just say its 10mph over the true speed for instance. I found I was able to use Google Maps to enter a destination & my true speed shows in it. But this is garbage. I'm sure a wire got bumped or unplugged or something simple, however this is quite inconvenient from a simple oil change issue aafterwards.Theyre not open again til either Monday or possibly Tuesday since tomorrow is a Holiday. Hopefully this can be sorted quickly and free since I trusted them to provide the oil change without causing other issues. I'll update after contacting them asap this upcoming week. (Initial review): Last minute appointment for a full synthetic oil change~ made my whole month 100% better. I had plans and another company boasted they started doing oil changes but in fact they do not, so I wasted hours of time in fact days when I could have gone elsewhere. Luckily, Meineke saved the day! The gents were great, provided great service and asked before doing any further recommended work (an air filter needed changed out but that's it). I found that to be refreshing! Thanks again, and see you in about 5k miles

I asked Meineke to reset my computer and if that didn't work to run a diagnostic for $160. The next day I get a text with invoices showing a new battery for $222, if I wanted it as well as a transmission pan for $600. I was charged for other internal parts I did not authorize as well. When I asked if it would fix the issue they said yes so I approved the pan only as I could get a cheaper battery. 2 day after, I called and was told it was all done. I paid the $900 bill over the phone and right before pickup another worker called and said he forgot to include the notes that I needed a new transmission and it was not fixed. What did I pay for? Not only am I out of $900 and have a new pan on a supposedly bad transmission, but I had even more lights lit up on the dash than when I bought it in. I ask the guy checking me out when I picked the car up why did the $160 diagnostic test not reveal this issue before, and he said he did not know anything and I would have to talk to the tech that worked on the car. They quoted me several thousand dollars for a transmission more that the car is worth. I refused and said I would do the repairs myself and the worker responded with " I thought you would say that." I found a replacement transmission from $300 + $800 range. Less that their repairs of nothing.
