I experienced a catastrophic failure of my steering suspension. Due to death wobble on my Dodge Ram pickup, the spline on the steering gearbox was sheered off and I was stranded just east of McLean, TX. AAA asked me where I wanted the car towed to for repairs. I had no idea who to choose so I looked for any shop that would be open on a Saturday in Amarillo. Well the luck of the draw pulled up Meineke on 963 Georgia St. I had the truck towed there and told them what happened. They assigned the job to Jennifer and she worked tirelessly that day to replace the steering gearbox, steering gearbox hoses and stabilizer links on the stabilizer bar. Unfortunately, they had to order a steering gearbox hose which would not come in until Sunday morning. Rather than make me wait until Monday, Josh came in on a Sunday and put it on. So I hit the road but it turned out that there was an unforeseen problem that may have been the original culprit which was a seized up u-joint on the left front axle. Anyway, there were multiple issues with the front steering suspension that Jennifer and Dave (the owners) worked to correct so I could get home safely, which I did (I live in which is 900 miles away). I found everyone at this Meineke competent and honest and truly cared about getting the best possible outcome for me. I would recommend them for anyone’s car care. Thanks again!

The work done was good, the prices are out of this world. That's what sucks for customers that are forced to hurry and get things done. A job that takes msybe 2 hours to do and would've cost about $150 in parts cost just over $700 more because they milked the time all data gives them and added some. Of course they have to mark up the price of the part that they have to get from a part store, but they don't let customers go buy the part and bring it to them to save money! They say they don't allow outside parts as if they're a dealership of all vehicles that has OEM parts and then gets parts from NAPA and marks them up big time! A part I could've bought at NAPA, if I used them would've cost me $100-$120. I went and checked after I saw the girl drop off my part for my car. They charged me $184 for the part! The labor was over $120/hour because they milked it for three hours! They said they had to Evac/recover an empty system and recharge it. All they had to do was remove and replace. There was a lot of unnecessary charges overall!! I hope I never have to go back again! It sucks when it has to be done, your on a fixed income as a 100% disabled VET, and you're in between payday and trying to go on vacation with your kids. Had we gotten paid we would've done the work ourselves and saved $710. Instead, we had to wait for payday and then get it done as an emergency so we could get on the road to Colorado. Anyways, they are an expensive gamble! Don't go unless you absolutely have no choice! Their guarantee isn't very long either. I hope their work lasts and I don't ever have to go back for anything! Horrible business!

I have always taken my three vehicles for an oil change here. Never had a problem always went and got my oil changed, and everything taken care of. Have been going to the same place for years I was always happy and satisfied. Until my last visit, I went in, like always for an oil change but this last time that I went, they told me that my car was leaking oil and they said that I needed to take care of it so I did. I trusted that my car was leaking oil and so they Said they would fix the problem and so I agreed and this last oil changed since there was “ An oil leak” In my car, they fixed it. My bill ran 500 and up, paid went home. Come to find out where I always park my car in the garage. There was No oil stain. So yeah, that was my last time going there. Never going back again. Thank you

Manager had set a policy to only replace oil with recommended synthetic type by the manufacturer. They have been changing my car oil for years using the synthetic blend. So I will stop going to Meineken.

I recently visited Meineke Auto Care for a complimentary check of a noise issue in my car. The technicians were professional and thorough, providing a clear explanation of the problem and estimated repair costs. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and expertise in automotive repair make them my top choice for all my car maintenance needs. Highly recommended!

I took my car to this location for an AC Recharge. I found out today through the district manager Ronnie that the service was never performed. Not only did Ronnie never reach out to tell me what happened, but he was unprofessional and constantly interrupted me on the phone when he did call me back. The only reason he called me in the first place was because I requested a call. He never apologized for the mistake he and his team made and was not empathetic at all. Ronnie kept repeating that "I received what I paid for," but that is far from the truth. I had to take my car to another Meineke location to get serviced. What I did receive was an inconvenience and time missed from work. Rude and unprofessional service is what you will encounter from Ronnie and this Meineke location.

I drive a 2005 vibe. Finding parts hard. I took my car in to have a shimmy fixed, turns out they fixed the wrong thing which I paid for. I took it back and come find out it was a transfer case. The price of it they forgave. I had other things replaced while they had her. These people were amazing. It took a bit but so worth it. Thanks guys. Your heros.

Average repair shop. I just didn't like how pushy they were to up-sell other services.

Needed my brakes checked on a new to me vehicle. Not only did they get me in same day but they checked over my entire vehicle. Was refreshing to see that customer service is still alive & well in Amarillo. I'm new to town so they definitely won my future business, thanks guys!!

Terrible place to get your oil changed! I took my Honda Odyssey for an oil change to Meineke on Tuesday, November 26th. The next day I back out of my garage and find a huge oil leak underneath my van. Mind you, I had just had my oil pan replaced in my van in July 2024. I paid $500 to get the oil pan replaced at a different shop. The reason I replaced the oil pan is because I was about to move into a brand new house and I didn’t want my van to be dripping oil onto my brand new garage floor. Now, thanks to Meineke I have a huge oil stain on my brand new garage floor. Anyway, I take my van back to Meineke so they can fix the leak. They get it on the lift and tell me that the oil drain bolt hadn’t been tightened properly. They tighten the bolt and send me on my way. Well, guess what?! Two days later and my van is still leaking oil. It’s not as bad anymore, but it’s still dripping. I think they stripped my oil drain bolt and they don’t want to admit it. I’m going back today to see what they say this time.

The engine light came on and stayed for a few days but I didn’t hear anything that sounded different. I finally called Meineke and made an appointment drove the car over, engine light was still on. The minute the mechanic started the car the engine light went off! Checked it out found nothing wrong. Had them replace the Serpentine belt. Four days later the engine light is still off.

I was in Amarillo visiting and the first night there my catalytic converter was cut out. The only place I could find that could repair it and get me back to Dallas by Wednesday was Meineke. They were friendly over the phone but in person didn’t listen to a thing I said. I’ve worked on cars for 16+ years so I kinda know a little about what I’m talking about. I asked for an OE Direct fit, bolt out/bolt in catalytic converter and exhaust pipe from catalytic converter to muffler. When the repairs were finished I was assured I got exactly what I had asked for. As you can see from the pictures that’s not what I got at all. I’m not sure if my instructions were clear because as you can see from the pictures that’s not a t all what I got. This happened in January and it’s now April and I have an exhaust leak. NOT even 4 months and it needs to be fixed again. And let’s not forget that the Muffler I went into the shop with, which had NO DAMAGE is not the Muffler on my car now. Not listening to a customer and getting results like this is what gives auto repair shops a bad name.

They looked at my husband’s car because the check engine light was on and stalling while driving on a Friday evening. We took it to them on Monday. When they went to check it, they could not find a problem. They drove it for a while to see if it would happen to them. So they did not charge us.

Wife called a store and was given a price of $400 to have the back brakes replaced. Show up and was told they would build an estimate, was sent an estimate of $500+, to do the back brakes? No thanks, when rejected and went to get the truck back…they asked why and we told them, they insisted on changing prices/evaluation/etc. which I understand labor and price of part. But I bought the parts myself and did them myself for under 50% of the estimated cost.
