So We moved to Atwater 5 years ago. My neice’s husband referred us to Johnny. I had a broken front axle on a minivan. He did it in a day. He also did a water pump another time. Because he does not have many places to park cars securely over night, he won’t tackle too much of what he can’t do in a day’s time. It is just him alone. But more people need work ethics like him. If he closed up, I wouldn’t know where to go. He is top notch for smoging by the way.

I called ahead and was told I could come right down to have them look at my vehicle. When I arrived, I went into the "office", which was a completely empty, dilapidated room devoid of any humans (or office equipment). I called from my cell 3 times but no one answered and voice mail is not set up. I am astounded that this place has such high reviews when I could not even manage to find a person let alone get any service.

Brilliant mechanic good deal on smog check He is the only mechanic I seen there so low volume is to be expected a place you need to go there is no receptionist so don’t bother calling just go there if you need smog or advice on automobiles or brakes and stuff like that.

I tried to call the day before for a smog check. I didn't get an answer, but I just came in anyway. I parked in the back and walked in, and he got me in and out, and smog was 40 bucks. Can't ask for anything better.

I took my car for a smog test. The technician was very respectful and proficient. The price for smog test is the best ($40 with the certificate) in town. I will bring my car here for repairs and service. Not a fancy place but service is excellent.

This is the ONLY shop in town that I trust 100%. The battery in the car I just bought, would go dead in one day if the car sat. O'Reilly said the battery was good and the charging system was working. I put the car in the shop and they spent two days going through the electrical system. They concluded that it was in fact the battery going bad. I replaced it and haven't had another problem since. The shop only charged me $65 for everything they did. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an excellent mechanic at a reasonable price.

Well...1st of all, I respect the fact that because he seems to be a 1 man band, that he focuses 1st and foremost on YOUR vehicle and getting the work done vs running back and forth to answer the phone. He isn't a secretary, he is a mechanic, and he is a good person. A blessing. I wish more ppl would leave reviews when they have a good experience, not just when they have a bad one. Without going into my whole story because it's very personal, I would like to say that this man was a blessing for me. I had been praying for help and this shop recommendation fell into my lap. Specifically Johnny. He was a Godsend for me and my children. I won't be going anywhere else.. ever. If you are looking for an Honest shop that does Great Work -COME HERE! Im telling you, this is your sign. This IS the place you need. Also** if the shop sees this review, I wouldn't mind volunteering some time during the week to answer phones and or set up appts!
