Great and quick service. I called and spoke to Joe the manager. I informed him my urgent tire changing situation and he said to bring it over and I'll try to help as best as possible. I showed and he was already on his way out to greet me by my truck and help with the tire. His guys which are all awesome, grabbed the tire from said they are going to start working on it. 20 min later my tire was fixed and they brought it out with a smile on their face. I will be definitely coming back and also recommending this place to others. Thanks Joe and Merlin mechanics

I was traveling across country from Pittsburgh PA to Seattle and as I got off the exit to get a motel, the engine light went on in the car. Having no idea of anything that was here. I didn’t know what to do. Merlin was listed as a mechanic shop in the hotel directory so I called them and my experience could not have been better. Knowing I was traveling, they got the car in early in the morning and I actually had it back by 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Joe, who is at the front counter was extremely nice, friendly and helpful. I don’t live in the area, Elgin IL, So unfortunately I will not be going back to that shop. If I lived here, I would definitely go back.Thank you to everyone at that location!

If I’m honest, whenever I hear about repair work I feel like it is a different language to me. That puts me at odds with most mechanics that I work with because I feel like they are always explaining why I should get more work done (and why I should pay them more). Thankfully, at Merlin, I never get upsells, never get some behind the back fees, and never feel swindled. They’re realistic and kind. Especially joe, the manager. He is consistent and clear and I’d recommend anyone to come here for work. Especially if they get to interact with joe. Great work Merlin!

I would highly recommend taking your vehicle to Merlin at 350 S. Randall Road, Elgin IL. You will not regret doing this if your car needs service. I’ve never had a bad experience there. Joe and Jose are the most honest and transparent Mechanics I ever experienced. Most places will not treat you as respectfully and honestly when diagnosing your vehicle and are willing to work with you to make sure the job gets done. 🚗

An hour and a half wait for an oil change is beyond ridiculous. I made an 8 am appointment, was there at 7:55 am. I was the first person there for the day. Another 8 am appointment came in after me around 8:10 and was out in 20 minutes. A walk in came in around 8:45 am and was out by 9:05 am. I waited for an oil change, no oil and filter no checks of any kind, just an oil change for an hour and a half. There were zero updates throughout the wait. Was looking forward a new shop in town will continue to look. Staff behind the counter came off condescending and rude one in particular, was very off putting. Do not recommend. There are better places to support in and around town. Highly disappointed with experience.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Absolutely nobody likes to go to the auto repair shop and I'm sure like me, everybody always feels like they're at a disadvantage. But the guys at this place, specifically Joe and Stephan took great care of me, and I actually felt like they had my satisfaction as a priority. Joe took all the time that was necessary to explain the options to me and help me to arrive at the best possible price, possibly even at a disadvantage to himself! And, when the tires were off the car for the brake inspection, I asked him to rotate them and he did it without question! they also fixed my hood latch and did not even charge me for it!! True, I spent some money on the brakes and pads and calipers, but when I left, I did not feel taken advantage of!! Definite 10 out of 10!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
