I took my car in to the Elgin, Illinois shop to have my oil changed. The staff were polite and efficient and I left with a positive attitude about the shop. The next time I took my car in to get the oil changed I ended up at a shop near my work as it was more convenient when I received the notification that it was due. That mechanic ended up having to keep my car for three days while he waited for a new oil cap unit since the oil filter had fallen apart the result of it not being changed when I was at Valvoline according to the second mechanic. When I presented this information to Christopher, the manager at Valvoline he told me that “they always change the filter” when they change the oil. He then told me he would have to talk to the owner about a remedy and the owner would call me. 10 days later, I had heard nothing so I called Christopher back and asked why I hadn’t gotten a call. He did not respond, he only reiterated that “they always change the filter”. No apology, no sorry, no attempt to make any amends, in fact he just sat silently on the phone and said nothing else.
