We were initially diagnosed with a PCV defect and quoted $1,700 to replace the entire PCV manifold. We then sought a second opinion at a Chevrolet dealership, where we were told the issue was actually related to spark plugs and were quoted $250. The dealership indicated that the initial diagnosis was incorrect. This raises a concern: if we had proceeded with the $1,700 repair, would the shop have discovered that the PCV manifold was not the true issue, corrected the spark plugs instead, and still charged us for the full PCV replacement? Or would they have acknowledged the misdiagnosis and adjusted the cost accordingly to reflect only the necessary repair? Because this type of correction could be made internally without the customer’s knowledge, it creates uncertainty about whether the quoted repair and cost were truly justified.

After being quoted $7,00+ by the Jeep dealership to fix an issue with my battery, I brought it to Daniel after he was HIGHLY recommended by a friend. This man listened to me and the concerns I had, was able to diagnose the problem, and fix the problem for a FRACTION of the cost the dealership quoted me. He also noticed I was due in the near future for new tires, and gave me a few options with pricing for when I was ready. I cannot recommend this place enough. After this fist experience I had, I’ve been back to Daniel and this Midas for every oil change and service I’ve needed since moving to Chattanooga, and still cannot recommend it enough!
