⭐ 1 Star – Poor workmanship and misleading information Back in July, my catalytic converter rusted off (the car’s 15 years old). I bought a direct-fit, CARB-compliant catalytic converter and installed it myself — it worked perfectly for months with no issues or check engine light. In October, the seal on my repair failed, so I brought my car to Midas on MacArthur Road after a friend recommended them. I clearly explained the issue was with the seal, not the converter itself. They called soon after and said it would be an easy fix — just cut and weld a new section — and quoted me $230. I appreciated the fair price and quick turnaround. Unfortunately, the very next day, my check engine light came on (P0420 – catalytic converter code). I returned the following week, expecting the “lifetime warranty” to help. Instead, they kept my car for two days without updates. When I finally called, the story changed multiple times — first claiming my converter wasn’t CARB-compliant (it is, and I have the paperwork), then insisting my rear converter and all sensors needed replacing — quoting me over $1,000. When I picked up the car, their paperwork mentioned a “tack-welded sensor”, something never mentioned in person. After checking myself, I found no weld at all — instead, they’d used exhaust repair putty on the pipe and around the oxygen sensor. I removed the putty, cleaned the sensor, and my check engine light immediately cleared. To make matters worse, the friend who originally recommended Midas later told me that he also had a check engine light appear immediately after his exhaust repair there — the exact same issue. Between the conflicting explanations, poor communication, and questionable repair methods, I can’t recommend this Midas location. My car was fine before their “fix,” and I had to correct their mistake myself.

So quick and efficient. Very hospitable. They provided Uber to and from my house in the middle of a snow storm. Recommend to everybody
