Highly recommend!! I have a 08 Grand Cherokee. This vehicle has a WIN ignition module and needs specific key fobs or FOBIKS. When I bought the vehicle, I only received 1 fob. To program more you need 2 original fobs. The one I received somehow became damaged and would not turn anything on. Nothing. No dash lights and certainly not the motor. I had already ordered 2 new ones from Ebay. Tried one of the new keys and low and behold, the frequency was correct and all the dash lights, radio, etc. came on! Called Mike and he was having some vehicle problems himself but was able to come to my house right after he was up and running. Plugged his computer into the vehicle and within 15 mins, had both keys programmed! Amazing!! I thought I would have to take it to the dealership and we all know how costly that can be. Plus, I would have had a tow bill as well. More then likely would have been well over $500 to do what Mike did in 15 mins! And they couldn't get me in for a week. Mike had me up and running for $90 plus a nice tip for getting here as soon as he did! So before you rush to the dealership, give Mike a call and explain your situation. He may be able to save you a ton of money and time! Great job Mike! Thank you!

A narrative of the experience: I lost my car keys to my electronically protected car. I called Mike's on a Thursday. Mike said he would try and fit me in the next day. Showed up exactly on time, I myself was late getting to my car by about 15 mins. I didn't have much data but Mike figured out what type of key and settings were needed based on my engine type. Had two keys cut in 45 mins. One backup for the door and a working transponder key for everything else. Started right up and no problems. Total cost: way less than the dealer. Mike also was a great professional throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!

My son lost his only car key FOB while away at school, fortunately the car was parked in his driveway. Being out of state I wasn't quite sure who to call so after reading the reviews I decided to give Mike's a try. I left a message and Mike returned my call right away. After I explained the situation he ordered a new FOB and programmed it to the car onsite. Mike had him up and running within a couple of days and the price was much less than the dealer, not to mention no need for a tow. Mike was amazing, I am not from iowa city and was terrified of the bill I was going to have to pay to have him make me a new key and deliver 30+ min from his location even tho I didn’t have the original key. He worked with me over the phone and through text in order to gather all the information he needed, he arrived to my location when he said he would and didn’t bother me at work until he was already done programming the key to my car allowing me to only need to be excused for a moment to pay and receive the key. The cost was half of what I was expecting and he provided the key pad code to unlock my door (something I’ve been trying to find since buying the car 4 years ago) and I also got a backup battery for the key fob!! My experience was amazing and I will be referring all of my automotive locksmith needs to Mike from here on out!!

Could not be happier! After the Subaru Dealer quoting me a king's ransom , I found Mike's Locks for Cars and called him up. We set up an appointment and the entire process took less than 20 minutes. AND he is local! The Subaru Dealership is in Davenport or Cedar Rapids and they wanted the process to take three days. Unbelievable! And with the price they quoted, Unacceptable! I could not be more thrilled that I found Mike online. If you have a chipped key for your car, give him a call, Save yourself some money and a HUGE headache that comes from dealing with a dealer. Highly recommend!
