No matter what you drive, THIS is the place to take your car! My wife's pride and joy is a 2002 Mercedes SLK32. It's a convertible and of course, here in Myrtle Beach it gets lots of top down use. It's also a very rare color. Unfortunately, I got a little over zealous with a compounding machine and went right through the paint on both the trunk and a little on the passenger side. As I had done it, I had to fix it and I knew it was WAY out of my area of expertise. Thank goodness for Bruno at Modern Rust. I had driven by his shop numerous times and seen all different kinds of cars outside. To me, being a car guy, if there are many different cars around, usually the owner is a car person too and to me is more likely to take care of my car. Bruno did not disappoint. He took the time to look at the car and explained what needed to be done. While I'd burned through the paint on both the lower side skirt and the trunk, the rear spoiler also clearly needed attention. Bruno said he would take care of all of the problems and gave me a very reasonable price. I agreed to have him do the work. He was booked out a few weeks but gave me a day to bring it back to have the work done. When I brought it back, I didn't realize a part that had fallen off would need to be replaced. Instead of just filling the hole left by the missing piece, Bruno explained it wouldn't look right and that I really should get the missing part. It took 6 days to get it as I had to order it off of EBay. It's no longer available new through Mercedes nor anywhere else I looked online. When I finally brought it to him, the rest of the car was already done. He said just give me till this afternoon and it will be all set. Now THAT is service. How was the work? FANTASTIC! He matched the paint beautifully. The rear spoiler, trunk and skirt look great and he even gave the interior a detailing before we picked it up. That is some serious service and I can't say enough great things about Bruno. We even got a tour of his shop, which is full of some amazingly cool cars. To top it all off, Malorie, in the office was a gem. She took care of our payment and paperwork and we were off. Bruno and his crew at Modern Rust are really great and I can't say enough good things about them. Finding people to entrust with your car can be a real challenge. I will be entrusting Bruno and Modern Rust for all my customization or collision work from now on. Best of all, my wife loves the results as well. Thanks for getting me out of the dog house Bruno!

Horrible! He forged my signature on my insurance check! Then did crappy work! I was stuck….. always promised to fix it. My door doesnt even hang right. The pic is over spray and the bottom panel looks greasy!

I have had the pleasure of working with Bruno on a few various occasions, most recently on some minor body work and a paint restoration on both my Audi TT and my son’s Nissan Frontier Pro4x. Bruno possesses a pride in his craft and applies an attitude of treating his customers’ cars as if they were his own. I respect his attention to detail and his willingness to go above and beyond in his client services… even if it requires working after hours or working through an injured shoulder. He gone so far as arranging transportation for me when he has been working on my vehicles, dropped cars off to my house, etc. He gives sound advice on what to do and not to do with caring for or upgrading a car’s aesthetics, and I appreciate the time and attention he puts into those who put their trust in him. I would recommend him highly if looking for affordable, quality auto body painting and restoration work done with a thoughtful hands-on business owner.

Excellent work excellent! Couldn’t be more pleased with both the undercoating and ceramic finish! The car was ready when promised and looks fabulous! I’ll be taking my other car for the same treatment soon! As promised after the excellent job on my wife’s Infiniti I had my new Murano undercoated and ceramic coated! Once again the detail work was outstanding! I’ll be taking both cars back to be re-coated when the time comes!

Awesome job done by modern Rust on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. They installed new bumpers and a winch and then painted the fenders and grill to match the satin wrinkle finish. Shout out to Bruno and team at MODERN RUST in Myrtle Beach! My Christmas wish was to have my 5 yr old vehicle (with only 50,000. Miles) paint job refreshed. We live in a condo bldg with garage so it’s protected from weather BUT NOT door dings. I stopped in for estimate to remove door dings / painting as needed .. He took the time to explain procedure and time frame involved.. My husband returned with me to pick up vehicle and we were both so happy with results. The vehicle is shiny and bright! UPDATE BRUNO HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. IF THIS SHOP IS IN BUSINESS STILL, RUN AWAY! My mother is doing just fine since we got her car back from some lowlife who makes his living extorting the people in Myrtle Beach and stealing from them. How did court go with my mother? The judge decided that she didn't owe you a dime from stopping payment on her check like I told her to. You can bully people all you want, you'll never be smarter than me. Your days are numbered. Enjoy being deported! I bet you'll be dropping the soap on purpose when you end up in prison. After 3 years of lies and manipulation, my mother was robbed by Bruno. We came to pick up the car on the newest promise date(originally was told 6 months) He stripped the car, stole parts that she paid for, and left the car torn apart and we had to tow it from his shop. Check the BBB page for other similar situations. He is a crook and a liar. Save yourself the stress and drama and go somewhere reputable. After 3 years, this is how he gave the car back and forced my mom to pay $200 more than the remaining balance. Good thing that move gave her the right to stop payment on the final check, but she already wasted 8k and will have to spend more to take him to court, just to have another judgement placed on him that he will never pay. Scumbag shop owner, BEWARE!

The team, especially Bruno, was transparent and professional from the start. The written estimate was detailed, and they handled all communication's with my insurance company flawlessly.
