Moved into the area a few years ago. Wanted to find a shop I can develop a relationship with. Tried Northside Auto Repair because it was a quiet, quaint little shop with a small crew. I don't have anything bad to say so I'll just leave facts and you can come to your own conclusions. 1 wheel brake job + 2(?) rotors = $425. Needless to say I moved on. Why now am I leaving a review?: A mechanic friend of mine told me that this day and age the market pretty much weeds itself out with reviews. Got me thinking...I'm doing a disservice by not reviewing. Especially since the majority of customers who do write reviews don't know enough to write a meaningful review instead of writing how their day went on that particular day lol. And, I've since become more familiar with cars, especially a cake job like brakes and rotors. Let's just say I can now do that same job I was charged for in about 30 minutes with PREMIUM products for $150. Basic products will run under $100. I will say that most places will charge you upwards of $300 for the same job. That's why I learned basic maintenance. That's all, take it or leave it.

Paid this man something on the order of $165 to diagnose why my car was randomly not starting. He told me I needed a new fuel pump, then quoted a massive price for the fix. It was not the fuel pump, I later found out it was my ignition switch, replaced that and went back and showed him the damaged part. He asked "So did you change the fuel pump?" I informed him that I did not, I never did replace the pump in that car, never had a problem after I replaced the faulty switch. When I confronted him on this he refused to do anything about it or return any of my money... I went back once after hoping that maybe he make it right when I was coming in to give him more money, but nope, he just wants to ignore the fact that he was dead wrong, and is perfectly happy stealing money from a customer giving them nothing in return. This is one of those mechanics that give mechanics a bad reputation There is a MUCH nicer shop, with more honest people and more reasonable prices a few blocks north of this place

Battery died about a year ago, Northside replaced it quickly at a fair price. Battery failed again a year later, Northside replaced it free of charge. It's good to know there's at least one local auto mechanic that stands by their work.

I’ve brought my car here three times. Every time, I dropped it off in the morning and it was done by the afternoon. Quick service. No need to wait for an appointment. But every time I brought my car here, within a month something major breaks and I need another huge and expensive repair. This happens once, that sucks. Twice, horrible coincidence. Three times though? I’m never going back here again.

Honest diagnosis, fair pricing, and quick work! I've taken my older Jeep Liberty to John twice now for different issues and he has never talked down to me (as a younger female, I've had this issue with mechanics in the past) and has had the work done and my Jeep back to me quickly each time. It is nice to have someone I feel that I can trust, since I moved here from out of state.

The best. John is very knowledgeable and helpful. Been my mechanic for years, anything I ever brought in to get fixed it worked well after that I never had to bring it back for the same things that are you experience with other mechanics... And he's just a good guy. Mechanics are hit or miss and I got lucky sometimes people think the charges a little more I tell you what it is absolutely worth it.
