The best mechanic/owner in the Charleston area. He fixed issues that the dealerships could not fix after having my car multiple times. He has worked on all my vehicles and I trust him more than anyone. He stands behind all work done by him and his rates are 1/3 of dealerships.

took my ford-150 pickup because it was running rough and dropped it off.Apparently,the owner lost my phone number and i didn't hear from them until i called them back.Long story short.He stated that the intake manifold needed to be replaced,along with iginition coil,themostat,and new plugs.Got my truck back after a week and took it to North Carolina pulling my cargo trailer no sooning did i get on the interstate and it started overheating.so i called him and he said that just let it sit for a few and restart it because the themostat might be sticking(i was charged for a new themostat???).so on the way back fromN.C.it did the same thing and i had to pay to have the themostat replace???.Few weeks later,same thingOverheating on interstate,poped the hood and the nipple and little hose clamp that he had put on waterline coming from the radiator had blown off and luckily it was still on top of the motor.3rd time same issue,but i wasn't as lucky.The nipple and little clamp had falling completely off,show i had to have the cargo trailer and truck towed to a mechanic in Newberry.Luckily the tow truck owner knew a great mechanic and he said that was a very sloppy quick fix and it would continue to happen.After paying Northstar 1226.89 i had to come out of pocket another 1,000 in tow charges and repairs.Never Again.

I've been using Northstar ever since its proprietor William Mann started the business after Miller Cadillac closed. William had been a tech at Miller. This is a business you can count on to not try to sell you something you don't need. That is rare in automotive repair & maintenance. The little old unsuspecting lady will not be taken to the cleaners here. William will even give you some free advice without making you pay some ridiculous price for diagnostics if he can get around that. His experience allows him to do this. He's busy enough anyway. The last time I checked he didn't have business cards. He said he had enough business via word-of- mouth. I usually don't recommend businesses as it can easily backfire, but I do feel comfortable recommending Northstar.

By far the best mechanic I’ve ever been too. Went to him first when my alternator went out. He quoted $300 less than the chain mechanics did. I’ve gone to him ever since. He explains everything in detail so I can understand it, lets me know what I do and don’t need, and always has fair prices. I can’t recommend this place enough.
