I’m really thankful to Mark, the used car sales manager, for replacing the battery even though my daughter had just missed the 90-day warranty period but had only driven 820 miles. He went above and beyond to help us out. I was initially disappointed that the battery died so quickly and just outside the warranty window, but his support restored my confidence that Subaru stands behind their cars. I also want to recognize Jackie in the service department—she was amazing and extremely helpful. Overall, I’m very impressed with the team and the level of customer care. I strongly recommend Ocean Subaru for your used car purchase.

Collin was EXCEPTIONAL service from the moment I arrived with my car. Greeted my toddler & I at my car and then walked us to my car after my car was done with service. Made conversation/connection, eye contact, smiled. Best service yet with Subaru! EVERYONE in Subaru should model their service like this guy. Felt like family for once. Usually when I get my car serviced, all the workers don't even greet you; just drones. So Thank you Collin for being a breath of fresh care, courtesy, & service!

I recently came into this dealership and I had a great experience with Sales Rep Alex! We had a few hiccups in the beginning but I must say that Alex worked with me and we came to agreement on a great deal for my Toyota Corolla. Don‘t believe the stars here. They lied from the beginning. And there are 1-point reviews about the engine problem in other reviews, and I’m in the same situation. It‘s been more than a month and two months, but it’s my problem. It‘s creepy that there was a problem with the engine itself. I wonder if I’ve been riding it with my life. From now on, I will never use Subaru, and I will let my family, friends, and community sites around me so that there are no victims like me. Don‘t ever go into the Subaru store.

It's my first Subaru, and it's very good experience. I negotiated lease term with sales through email before I go, because I don't want to spending 4-5 hours negotiating price, and waiting for finance guy to do paperwork. I asked them to matching price/lease term with dealer (I showed them the quoted I received), luckily I got very good deal AND not have to drive to further Subaru dealer. There were lots of ppl (customers) there, I thought "man, I gotta take 2-3hours" but no much faster and smoother, I had arrived at 10:30 am, left at 12:10ish. My sales, Mathew, very knowledgeable, and fast response. Ho! they delivered my car same day evening.

I bought a WRX in 2022 thinking it was stock as they told me it was going through the entire inspection for a week before I bought it. Then less than 2 years into having the car with only 40k miles on the odometer, my engine breaks and needs to replaced due to a modification and tune that I never knew about. I proceed to take it to this dealer thinking my warranty would cover this. But they hold out on me for 2 months without an answer; without giving any respect to my car, my time, or my money. This lasted from 04/20/2024 to 06/25/2024 and ended up costing me thousands of dollars that I thought would be covered. This dealership is shady and I’m definitely never going back. They fired one of their employees after he stated that the other service advisors would do shady business to squeeze extra money out of customers pockets. DO NOT COME HERE!

In short: DO NOT COME HERE. It’s yet another classic stealership. Save your time and dignity. Ocean Subaru of Fullerton bait-and-switched us. Despite their website saying that the dealer add-ons are optional for the used car we were looking at, the sales manager, Mark Dodd, refused to take responsibility for the misleading listing, and refused to sell the car as advertised. Even the sales advisor agreed that they should have to honor the listing. You cannot trust the advertised prices on their website. My experience on Friday, September 26, 2025 exposed a clear and deliberate bait-and-switch tactic involving mandatory dealer-installed accessories. I inquired about a 2016 Mazda CX-5 (VIN ending 35660) advertised at $15,998. The dealer's own website clearly listed items like CarDoc Connect GPS ($995) and the Protection Package ($1,995) as OPTIONAL, with the specific language "These Pre-Installed Items are Optional."* After agreeing to the base price, the sales advisor, Priscilla initially agreed that the add-ons were optional per their listing. However, the she pulled in the sales manager, Mark Dodd, and he intervened and explicitly stated that the $2,790 in accessories were mandatory and could not be removed. He refused to sell the car at the advertised price, conditioning the sale on buying the extra items that were clearly advertised as optional in their listing. This practice is misleading and a straight up scam. When confronted with the proof from their own website and the possibility of a legal complaint, the two IMMEDIATELY disengaged. When I asked for a contact, Priscilla said, "Once we hear the word 'legal', we cannot speak anymore." This is a violation of our consumer protection laws here in California regarding misrepresenting advertised vehicle prices. They are intentionally misleading consumers to get them on the lot and then forcing thousands in extra, unremovable charges. We walked away and have filed a formal complaint with the DMV, FTC, and the Attorney General. DO NOT SHOP THIS DEALER! The management team, specifically Mark Dodd, appears to operate on a policy of forcing customers to pay for "optional" accessories. Shop elsewhere for an honest transaction.

Brought my son’s Subaru in for service for the first time using Ocean Subaru. It was a great experience! Our service advisor kept in constant contact with us to inform us of the problems needing to be fixed. They diagnosed the issues and was able to complete the service of the parts that were in-stock within a day. Amazing. There was a part that needed to be ordered… as soon as it came in (in 2 days), they called me right away and set up the service appointment for the next day. Exceptional customer service and automotive service!

The manager and finance person were more high pressure in terms of sales and add-on charges. The person who detailed the car used too much product or the wrong product, which we had to correct. Really appreciate Prescilla's hardwork to help us figure out what we needed to know to complete the purchase. We spent a long time there as the model Crosstrek I wanted was located at another dealership, but we decided on a same model Crosstrek with a different trim located at Ocean Subaru and everything worked out and we were able to complete the sale yesterday. Kaine, your finance person helped explain the service warranty packages too and he was also very helpful. So overall it was a long day, but I'm definitely going back to your dealership for the next Subaru, and I'm happy to recommend Ocean Subaru to friends and family.

I recently traded in my Toyota Corolla Cross for a Subaru Crosstrek, and the difference in both the car and the experience has been incredible. My overall experience with Toyota felt very salesy and full of fear tactics. I didn’t even realize how pressured I’d felt until I went to Subaru. I had purchased a brand new Corolla Cross just a month ago, but was quickly disappointed in its performance. It felt cheaply made, had poor acceleration, and honestly felt unsafe to drive. I couldn’t see myself keeping it for 10–15 years. When I decided to visit Subaru of Fullerton, I was immediately blown away by the hospitality. John McCarty helped me, and he was absolutely wonderful, friendly, patient, and genuinely listened to my concerns and needs. He was never pushy or salesy, just honest and kind. I felt right at home the entire time. I ultimately decided to trade my car in for a Subaru Crosstrek, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. I’ve been driving it for a few days now and love everything about it. It feels sturdy, safe, and well-built…everything I was missing before. Safety is my number one priority, and I know it’s Subaru’s as well. I’m so grateful for this experience and can honestly say I won’t go anywhere else for future vehicles.
