My experience with Pep Boys in Stockton was not the most pleasant, but I still have to give them full marks, with a special shout-out to Service Manager "Johnny R." I took my car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and dignosis/repair of tire pressure monitoring system. I have zero complaints about the quality of service I received, the speed at which it was completed, or their pricing. However, when they were backing my car out of the service bay, there was an incident resulting in damage to my bumper, tail light, and rear gate. Johnny immediately accepted full responsibility, took photos, and processed the paperwork to submit a damage claim to the company. Johnny kept me updated with regular phone calls, and when my claim was initially stonewalled, he escalated the issue and continued to advocate for me until Pep Boys paid in full to have my car made as good as new. Johnny is a stand-up guy, and I would happily give Pep Boys in Stockton my business again.

I took my tsx and is250 in for a scheduled appointment for front tires installation. I checked in the tsx first around 11:20am. And then my fiance came with the lexus and checked in 11:43am. If you notice in the images attached, circled in red are the times checked in and out. The tsx took over 2 n a half hrs till i got my car. The store clerk even input an incorrect time-in on my tax. Took 6 hours for my lexus. I even had to make a phone call to check up on the status of my car at 5:19pm and was told that my lexus haven't been worked on but should be done by 6:00pm. At 5:40pm , i then got a call to pick up my lexus at 5:40pm. You can see my phone call history in the pictures attached circled in red. Pep boys took that long with my vehicles but couldnt even wipe them clean. In the pictures attached, you can see grease stains on the rims on my lexus. And they couldnt even wipe off the brake dust after touching my tsx rims making a mess. Never going back there.....

Johnny the store manager has really great customer service. I called for a quote for brakes and was able to get my car in the same day. He kept me updated on my car as it was being worked on. Overall good experience. Although I had an appointment I still had to wait before I was helped. There was only one guy at the front desk but he explained what I needed before I left. Good experience and I would return AMENDED!!! Needed to get my oil changed and went elsewhere this time….Pep Boys forgot a washer for my oil filter, tilted my battery and had it leak out now I need a new battery and to clean up the corrosion! So disappointed ☹️

Paid over $800 to get an oil leak fixed. It took them almost a week to get it done, only to bring it home and find that it was still leaking a good amount. so took it back a week later just for them to tell me it's a different part that's the issue now and they wanted to charge me about $800 again because they couldn't be sure if it was an old issue they didn't catch the first time or a new issue that occurred just within a week of them "fixing" it. I wasn't going to pay them $800 again if they couldn't do their job the first time. I brought it home and took a look myself and one of the screws on my valve cover was missing... it was broken off resulting in oil straying all over under my hood. whoever did it just tried covering it with a rubber cap. I don't know if pepboys did that or if it was already like that, but i feel like if i asked them to fix my oil leak, they should have mentioned that a screw was gone and got that fixed too right?

I was pressed for time the mechanic took me right before closing and fixed my brakes. I was thankful for an establishment that values customers and sacrificed their end of day when they were getting ready to close to help me. I paid a high price for the work but I can’t complain at all due to the nature of what I needed and it was closing time.

The rates run high, and they dont do an in depth check, they only charge for a visual check. No real hands on. You have to pay the big prices for that which by that you already paid 100s of dollars for the half ass visual. oh well.

While driving from Sacramento for work, the lower engine cover of my rental car started dragging. The rental company offered no support, and when I stopped at a gas station, no one could help me. I began to panic, unsure if the car would make it to my destination and feeling completely stranded. Thankfully, I remembered Pep Boys and found this location just 10 min away. Made an appointment but mechanics were to busy playing around unprofessional. Arrived at 12:30 for my appointment time car got pulled into the bay at 2pm but got looked at about 2:35. Parts ordered arrived at 2:50 but no work started on my car until after 3pm because joking around was more important to the mechanics service finished at 4pm

I always have an amazing experience with Mark. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I had an experience with someone else in the past who wasn’t considerate that I am a woman and that I am not a mechanic. Mark, is so respectful and explains everything to me thoroughly. He allows me to really be part of what’s going on with my service. He literally opened the hood of my car so that I could point out the issue to me to better understand the issue. I love when he’s there, there’s no one better. Thanks again!

I went in for an oil change and I was a walk in. My technician did the oil change the fastest i've ever seen get done. I was in the office for maybe 5 minutes and my car was pulled into the garage. I waited maybe 15 minutes and everything was complete. Amazing job at west lane pep boys 🙌
