Got here for a 9am appointment at 8:45. Front door was locked despite saying open. Several staff standing in the lobby looking at me, nobody bothered to unlock the door. So I stood outside for 10 minutes waiting to be let in. Up walks an employee coming in to work, opens the door, and goes right in. The staff inside never bothered to let me know they unlocked the door, just let me stand outside waiting. Once inside I was treated as if I was a bother, not a customer. I waited 30 minutes (not terrible) and was told my tire couldn’t be patched and had to be replaced. He asked if I had the roadside warranty to cover the cost. I wasn’t sure, so he told me to call the other store and find out myself. He told me that most people are “too cheap to get it” so I probably didn’t have it. I called and found I did have the service. When I came back inside the store to let Jose know, he was out in the bay assisting others to build shelves. I know all of them saw me, but they continued to work on the shelf. I have a photo of this I went and stood by the desk and waited 10 minutes while they built the shelf. Jose looked into the office and saw me standing there several times, as did other staff. It wasn’t until I stuck my head out the door and asked for some assistance that Jose came in. With him came another employee who was kind and explained everything (no name tag). Jose spoke to several people on the phone who were asking for service. He made it abundantly clear that it would be an all day wait and if they wanted to drop the vehicle off, just be here to pick it up by 5 because that’s when they close. Jose has a serious lack of customer service and needs coaching on this or a non-customer service role here. I don’t normally write these reviews, but this experience left such a bad impression on my that I had to share. Even though I purchased my tires here before, I will find a local mechanic with a good reputation going forward.

I bought my son a 2012 CRV, and the headlights were very yellow and faded. I took the vehicle to Pep Boys on Del Prado, and they did a phenomenal job of restoring them to really great condition considering the vehicle's age. Great job!!

I want to give a huge thank you to Bob at Pep Boys for his outstanding service and support. I came in with my Ford Explorer and he was incredibly helpful from start to finish. Not only did he take the time to clearly explain everything that needed to be done, but he also showed a great deal of patience and understanding when I had some unexpected issues with my payment. Bob went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, and his professionalism and kindness did not go unnoticed. Jose and his team truly look out for their customers. I randomly rolled into this shop 5 yrs ago when I had a flat and late for work. They not only fixed it fast but also noticed my break light was out and replaced it for me. The staff just seemed very caring and professional so I decided to return when my mom’s car had issues. Again, great service, efficient, and fair pricing. I recently had to take my Juke in for a new radiator, battery, and rack and pinion and Jose (manager) made sure to research for the best price possible to order for me. Whenever I’m there I never feel like I’m being taken advantage of…quite the opposite, actually. This place goes above and beyond, which is why I return. And if it matters at all, I read people’s energy for work so I can detect bs a mile away. I can tell you Jose is an honest man with integrity and genuinely cares about his customers. Very grateful for their professionalism and consistent positive vibes. Thanks, guys! Will be back for some other maintenance.

I got a decent deal on a set of 4 Kumho tires and the guys at the shop were doing the best they could despite being short staffed. However, the biggest issue of the day was the insanely slow computer system used by pep boys. The service tech was trying to write up a brake job for the customer ahead of me and that process took over 30 minutes due to the slow computer. When my car was done I then had to wait another 20 minutes for the computer to process my CC payment. The tech turned the screen around so I could watch it buffer. When asked I was told all pep boys computers are like this despite corporate being notified repeatedly. This is inexcusable to waste 50 minutes of my day waiting for pep boys computers to work.

I brought my 2015 Honda Odyssey in for a loud “machine-gun” ticking noise coming from the left side of the engine. Before the visit, I had researched the issue extensively and found strong evidence pointing to a failing timing belt tensioner, which is a known problem on this engine. Your technicians told me the timing belt tensioner was not the issue and instead said the noise was coming from the valve covers, recommending further disassembly. Also they told me its because vehicle is 2 quarts low on oil, this was confimed false by the oil change right after the diagnosis. I declined that work and was charged $117 for the diagnosis. I took the vehicle to another shop down the street. They replaced the timing belt and timing belt tensioner for less money, and the noise was completely eliminated. This confirmed the original diagnosis from Pep Boys was incorrect. I paid for a professional diagnosis that misidentified the problem and would have led to unnecessary work. Since the issue was correctly resolved elsewhere and the original diagnosis was wrong, I believe the diagnostic charge should be refunded.

Wish there was a negative rating. Took my van in for a break service as we started hearing a little bit of steel on steel in the front driver side. Tech told us that because it’s a northern vehicle all the shocks needed replaced ball joints needed replaced and we needed a new tires (Tires were installed at this location less than a year ago). Tech quoted us $3300 to pretty much Replace everything. We’re told that the brakes were great. Tech tried to convince us that what we were probably hearing was other vehicles beside us, whose brakes were going steel on steel while driving…. Ended up having to do front pads and rotors at a different mechanics. Pep Boys didn’t even take the tires off during this service. The wheel lock was still buried in the glove box….. Would not recommend. Would recommend staying away from this place

Mikayla (service advisor) was exceptional. My car was towed there late the night before. I arrived 15 minutes before they opened and Mikayla helped me right away. She already assumed I was there because of the extra car in their parking lot not there the day before. She was courteous, knowledgeable and professional! Because of my need for retrieving my car as soon as I could, Mikayla called me two hours later to pick it up! I was thrilled and so impressed! They worked as a team and I appreciate the mechanics for understanding the importance of needing my car as soon as possible. So grateful.

Had a check engine light for a late model ford escape diagnosed on Jan 2026. The diagnosis was timely. However, the price of the part was heavily inflated by the technician who relayed the information by hundreds of dollars. After paying the 100.00 diagnosis fee, the tech refuse to pass the part number needed to fix the vehicle as the cost estimated was well over $1000.00. When he finally relented, he relayed an incorrect part number with attitude. Service was paid for the diagnosis and still nothing but attitude was relayed for customer service! Customer service and ethical decency is missing from the customer point of sale representatives at this location. Request administrative action and regional level management intervention to correct the normally excellent company. Cape Coral needs a good part store and service with good people running it! Buyer beware, use this branch with the utmost caution!
