The guy tried to upsell a 15$ part to 500 that I fixed in 5 minutes on my own. Also lied about a bandaid solution that works fine. Just go somewhere OTP or not in the hood for that matter. Just read some reviews, and seems to be a common issue, Upselling and Lying are two different things, but here they lie and are extremely unprofessional. Also, when I pulled up there had to be 6-7 guys in the back sitting in a circle doing nothing and somehow it took them over an hour to complete a five minute job that I would typically have done on my own.

The customer service was very terrible from one of the attendant. While the other one was much more welcoming. Not a great look overall as they were trying to charge me for a TPMS check after I opted not to go ahead and change it with them because they were overcharging me for twice the cost of labour for two censor.

Made an appointment for 10:30 my car wasn't done until almost 2pm. I did not anticipate a simple oil change would take this long

⭐ ZERO STARS — Pep Boys Destroyed My Truck and Won’t Take Responsibility If I could give Pep Boys ZERO stars, I absolutely would. I originally went to Pep Boys for a simple A/C repair, and they ended up causing major damage to my GMC Sierra 1500. While installing my A/C condenser, the technician hit and damaged one of my transmission lines, which caused transmission fluid to leak out and destroyed my transmission. Instead of admitting their mistake, they quietly replaced my transmission — and even that wasn’t done correctly. ❌ FIRST replacement transmission: Failed in a few months. ❌ SECOND replacement transmission: Failed in four months. Two transmissions in less than a year — both installed by Pep Boys. Nobody has transmissions failing like that unless the installation is done WRONG. And after all the damage THEY caused, they have the nerve to blame the failure on my work tools? My truck is a GMC Sierra 1500, a heavy-duty work truck MADE to carry tools, equipment, and weight. That excuse was nothing but an attempt to dodge responsibility. I use my truck exactly how it was built to be used. ✔️ My tools are not extremely heavy ✔️ My truck is designed to haul weight ✔️ A proper transmission install doesn’t fail TWICE ✔️ Damage from hitting a transmission line can absolutely ruin a transmission Pep Boys is trying to walk away from the issue after creating thousands of dollars in damage. I’ve had to pay out of pocket for rental cars, inspections, towing, and diagnostic fees — all because of their negligence. Now I’m at the point where I might have to involve a lawyer because Pep Boys refuses to make this right. The lack of accountability is unbelievable, and the customer service has been just as bad. ❌ They damaged my transmission ❌ They installed two bad transmissions ❌ They blamed me instead of taking responsibility ❌ They left me with thousands in rental charges ❌ They still refuse to fix their mistake I would NEVER recommend Pep Boys to anyone — not even for the simplest repair. They are careless, unprofessional, and completely unwilling to stand behind their work. I will update this review later with names and everything I’m pissed

When I arrived, I stood in front of the counter waiting to be seen. The person at the front desk refused to acknowledge that I was there, so I had to wait for the manager to get off the phone. Once he did, he stated that he would talk to his coworker about the unprofessional behavior. I then left my car for the diagnostic. It turned out that I needed some hoses replaced, and they tried to charge me over $1900 for hoses that cost between $30-$50. I came away from the shop and my engine began to overheat. When I popped the hood, I noticed that there was a hose that was completely disconnected!! That was bot the case when I dropped off the vehicle.

My lady got her SUV fixed here. It took a few days because it was over the weekend. We just had to keep calling to get updates on what was going on but we had it back at the beginning of the week. I have 3 stars cause they could've been better at reaching back out to us.

I used to have a bad opinion about pep boys. But that changed now. I have a totally flat tire a few blocks away I drove right the pep boys and they replaced my tire very quickly with the same brand and model at a lower price than any other place that I have purchased. I was in and out of there in 40 minutes

Overall, I had a good experience. My tire replacement took place as scheduled, and in the amount of time that the service advisor said it would. The service advisor was a little gruff when there was a billing issue and didn’t seem really interested in helping which caused a little bit of issue. And they also left lube all over the rims and tires so they didn’t take A lot of care when finishing up. Comparatively speaking, this was a pretty easy and efficient service transaction.

If all car shops had someone like Joe, I probably wouldn't be 5k miles overdue for an oil change. He is SO friendly. I've previously had really bad experiences at mechanics/car shops so I was EXTREMELY nervous coming in, but Joe was so easy to talk to. He also gave me some education on what parts do what and answered my dumb questions about my raggedy 08 Subaru that I would have been too nervous to ask anywhere else. 10/10 would recommend.

Mr. Kingston was such a blessing! He helped me fill my washer fluid and also told me that my coolant was low so that I could buy and have that filled too. On cold days such as these, it is such a blessing to find someone who is so hard working, diligent, and does his job all with a warm smile. He clearly loves what he does and loves to help people. Bravo! I appreciate Mr. Kingston and all at Pepboys. I hope these blessing are returned 10 fold back to you all!

Absolute worst service I have ever received in my entire life schedule an appointment the day before for 8am this morning talk to the asst. Store manager via telephone before I arrived . Then I dropped my car off @ 7am paid 60.00 for a uber to work, PAID ANOTHER 60.00 to come back .. NOW 4:20pm I’m back here to pick up my car and nothing was done at all my car was not even touched keep in mind all I needed was ONE TIRE REPLACED.. I tried to ask the manager what happen but he cut me off mid conversation to tell me he was on lunch walked back to his little office space and got on the phone laughing and talking loudly I then asked the sales person what happen, he tried to be as helpful as he could and I really appreciate him for that (THANK LARRY) meanwhile the store got off the phone walked right pass me didn’t say one work got in his vehicle and left for the day. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE VALUE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, I WORK IN MANAGEMENT HE DOES NOT FIX THE PROFESSIONAL PROFILE OF A MANAGER. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN!!!!

We were visiting our daughter in Atlanta and her car had a tire blowout. The vehicle was needed same day and the gentlemen at the service desk and in the shop could not have been more attentive, helpful and friendly. We had a reasonably priced replacement installed on a timely basis, and they even reattached her plastic undercarriage protector. We were so pleased that we walked up to the nearby Dunkin to get the men a dozen donuts to show our appreciation. Thanks, Pep Boys!

I had a good experience bringing my car in for service recently, the staff was friendly. Larry was clear in his communication, he took the time to explain the necessary job on my car in a way that was easy to understand, making me feel informed and confident in the work being done. There was zero pressure, just clear information. I also appreciated the cleanliness of facility. It makes a difference when waiting. Complimentary coffee and water were available in the waiting area. Overall, good service, great people, and a pleasant experience.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Pep Boys. I brought my car in because it was having trouble starting. They told me I needed a new battery, which I agreed to and paid for. Just two days later, my car wouldn’t start at all and not even with a jump. I ended up having to pay for a towing company to take it to the dealership. After running a new diagnostic, the dealership informed me that the battery had been installed incorrectly. Now I’m being told I have to pay an additional $400 for Nissan to identify and fix the issues caused by the improper installation. This has been a major inconvenience, all because of a mistake that should never have happened. I would strongly recommend double-checking any work done here, as this experience has been frustrating and costly.

Went to get a tire patched because the dealership was not open. The rude people up front told me that the tire could not be patched. He thought since it was a more expensive tire that I would just get it replaced. Took it to the Cadillac dealership and was an easy patch fix. Save yourself the money and take your vehicle elsewhere. Your wallet will thank you in the long run. They wanted to charge 275 plus for one tire!

I was in a situation where my water pump on my hybrid stopped working. Pep boys was about 2 miles away. They quoted me over $500 for the pump. I ordered the pump from the dealer for $240. The pump takes less than 1 hour to install. They quoted me 3 hours, and a price of $646(because it was a hybrid). The hybrid water pump actually is alot easier and quicker to replace than a regular gas engine water pump. I was told that the reason was, it takes 48 minutes to discharge the hybrid system. That's not true. I personally modified the hybrid battery a couple years ago. I discharged the system in 5 minutes. Due to health reasons, I can't do maintenance on my car anymore. But, from now on, I'll just take it to the dealership. My suggestion to all who read this. If you have an honest independent mechanic, stay with them. If not, use your nearest dealership. I know from owner on, I will. My credentials: Im a former aircraft overhaul/ modification guy(over 40 years). I've also repaired GM, Ford, Chrysler, volkswagon, Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo vehicles. I've rebuilt engines, rebuilt braking systems, replaced exhaust systems, rebuilt transmissions(automatic and manual). Troubleshoot and repaired electrical systems(alternator, fuel injection systems). And, replaced quite a few gas engine water pumps over the years.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Pep Boys location. I brought my vehicle in for a water pump and thermostat replacement, and the quote I received was shockingly high — far beyond what I later confirmed to be a fair market price. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of the situation by overcharging for both parts and labor. I understand repairs aren’t cheap, but honesty and fair pricing matter. I ended up getting the same work done with a certified private dealer for a third of the price. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs here.

I was a loyal customer of Pep Boys Lindbergh for over six years and spent more than $6,000 on services over that time. Until recently, I consistently received fair pricing, prompt service, and strong communication. In fact, in March 2025 I posted a positive review that said, “Professional, communication was steady!” Unfortunately, that experience has completely changed. I visited the Lindbergh location once in November and twice in January for electronic door-lock issues. The problems were never fixed and only got worse despite $550+ of parts and labor. On my second visit, the door-ajar alarm kept going off and the staff showed little concern and offered a “bring it back”. By the third visit, it didn’t even seem like the mechanics checked whether the doors were actually locking—the exact reason I brought my truck in. As a result, my vehicle was left unsecured and was burglarized. I can provide the police report. Despite how serious this was, I received zero regard, remorse, support, or meaningful effort to resolve the issue. Now the front door is not locking causing additional headache and a safety concern. This has been the worst automotive service experience, which is especially disappointing given my long history with this location. I would much prefer to remove this review and return to my previous positive feedback—but only if Pep Boys takes responsibility, fixes the issue, and provides appropriate support for the damages and inconvenience caused.

A few days ago I went to get my car repaired and I was a bit hesitant. Did not want to have to resort to an Uber to get back home, concerned about all the repairs needed and wanted to make it to work on time...I was STRESSED. Thank Goodness for Larry, he listened, he advised, he was transparent, he was prompt, courteous, professional and understanding. I sat in waiting area and was able to take care of a few personal tasks like sewing a few buttons on a shirt I brought from home, return some phone calls and edit a paper on my phone. Shortly before the repair was ready, I received a text notification from Pep Boys. It was a free Progress/Health report of my car. I got up from my portable Pep Boys office(waiting area) and LARRY, took the time to explain each issue to me and the level of urgency. Thank you Larry for your kindness, patience and not pressuring me to get other services. Thank you for waiting for my card issues to work out. I will be returning because of LARRY! I truly appreciate his services and if he is not a manager, he truly deserves a raise.
