If I could leave zero reviews I would. Took two vehicles in one for state inspection and the other for tires. The inspector failed our vehicle for micro amount of rubbing that wasn’t even noticeable. Then my tires were a joke, it took way longer than quoted cause they didn’t know how to problem solve and then did a vehicle inspection that we did not ask for on it. Very dissatisfied with the service and treatment. The worst part is that the inspector came out to our truck trying to tell us to either get new tires or put spacers on to not cause rubbing which would actually fail the inspection if we were to put them on our vehicle. I will never be a customer at any pep boys again. They truly have lost me as a customer and I will tell everyone I know not to use them

I stopped one day with a bolt in my tire and air spraying out. They were literally about to close but the young man in the garage was amazing and so professional he helped put a spare tire on for me.Stephen Wooldridge was behind the counter inside and assisted me further. I must say the professionalism and great customer service I am so thankful for. Coming from NY where majority of people are rude and unprofessional I was very happy I stopped here!!! Thanks guys for helping!!

These boys did us a bang up job! We are from out of town and needed a tire patched near closing time on a Sunday evening. They squeezed us in and got us back on the road. Kind, professional staff! Highly recommend!

This is the first time I ever rated a business low and had to write a terrible review. You can look at my history. I usually have a good experience at this location, but not today. I brought my vehicle in to get an oil change and my tires filled with air at 11 am. I got a quote that there was a few other things that needed to get done (alignment, oil change, replace windshield wiper, and air in tires). I accepted and agreed to the price. This was around 12 pm and there was not a line. I patiently waited without asking for an update. At around 2:50 pm which makes it about 4 hours of wait time, I ask for an update. They tell me they have not even worked on my vehicle at all and if I wait another half hour that they can at least do the alignment. I said no thank you and wanted my keys back because I just waited 4 hours with no update just to find out that it hasn’t been worked on and I had to ask. I understand that everywhere is short staffed, but what they did was unprofessional. They could have told me it was going to be a while so I could find some place else instead of sitting in the waiting room for (not even exaggerating) 4 hours and nothing was done to my vehicle that needed to be done. As cliche as this sounds, I’ll never return to this location again.

My first visit was pleasant and they took care of the oil change and inspection for my Silverado. Without an appointment they were able to work me in. The manager gave me his card and a flyer suggesting that I schedule an appointment on Wednesday's in the future. The flyer clearly stated $50 Pennzoil Full Synthetic Oil Change for Active Military, Veterans, and First Responders. So, I did just that. I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. However the flyer was a marketing scam and the oil change was not $50 as advertised. It was over $70. They took an hour to inspect my vehicle and tell me I needed a battery, 4 tires, and an air filter. All the while they still hadn't done the oil change that I originally brought it in for.

Girlfriend took the car in for an issue with her brakes pulsing. They did their free brake inspection (service brakes only evidently), identified issues, and she gave them the go-ahead to fix it. After several hours (up to and slightly beyond their closing time) they fixed everything. Except the brakes were still pulsing. Prices were steep, so we were shocked that the issue that we described seemingly wasn’t addressed at all. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and not call it gouging, we pay a high price for them to fix it on the same day and for their knowledge to diagnose what us laypeople don’t understand. We go back the next morning and ask them how they couldn’t feel the brakes shake and pulse. Took him for a ride in the parking lot and he claims they never experienced it (although we can replicate the problem consistently). Their word against ours. Fine. Then he goes on to do a quick diagnostic with the computer (10 min.) and comes to us with the actual problem we were dealing with. $1200 and 5+ hours of our time later, now they tell us what’s still wrong with it. Ridiculous. When we asked why they didn’t just run the check to begin with during the free brake inspection, he said “Well we wouldn’t think to check that if the brakes were pulsing like you told us. Maybe if you said they were grinding we would have just gone straight to the ABS.” “What’s the difference between grinding and pulsing brakes???” “Well what’s the difference between black and white?” Seriously? We don’t have 40 years of being a mechanic under our belt. We explained the problem to the best of our ignorant ability and entrusted you all to do your due diligence and be thorough. Icing on the cake was when he calls us back after we leave because they had left their code reader plugged into the car. Embarrassing and unprofessional how poorly they went about the entire situation. If you like paying a ton for them to fix a bunch of problems other than what you take it in for, here’s the shop for you!

We got a flat on 81 S on the way to Nashville. While most major tire chains had closed and sent their techs home at 5pm, even though remaining open till 7pm, I called this Pep Boys location and they were able to patch our tire and get us back on the road in no time. Service was quick, professional, responsive, and reasonable. Thank you for being there for us.

First time at this location and As usual always good service. Kind and considerate staff. And take care of the problem quickly. 2021 bmw x5. Dealer took half a day for the alignment and still had it off. Pep Boys took a little over an hour and was out the door. And has done tires on our other vehicles. Never had an issue with them. Always good service.

Set up an appointment online and being as an appointment was made and it wasn't a walk in I expect to walk in and hand my keys at my time of the appointment and my car go in the bay to be serviced but show up and the first employee I interact with just points me in the direction of the next guy who's not at the desk then proceeds to come from the back I tell him Im there and have an appointment and he says well your going to have to wait in busy right now doing something doesn't even take my name nothing so I stand there for 5 minutes while 2nd employee is in the background complaining about something taking forever and such so I just leave and go get my car serviced elsewhere poor customer service first off second off if someone has an appointment and plans on staying with their car they don't have all day to stand around and wait for the person behind the desk to get there self together and then have to wait for the bay to be empty to get your oil changed and you may not be next even though you had an appointment what's the purpose of an appointment if y'all don't have the bays open and ready for that customers car at said time makes no sense there just going to take what ever walk ins come even if some one has an appointment and a time slot very unprofessional staff at this location

Went there for a car inspection after work 720am on Tuesday. Hours showed they were open but the doors were locked. Stayed outside in the cold for 20 minutes while people moved around inside but didn't unlock the door. Went there another time on a weekend and they opened the doors on time but complained about have 3 customers already and about how behind they were. Will not be going back.

I had a terrible experience at pep boys today. It took them 3 hours for something that can be done in an hour. Also they charged me for 4.8 hours which makes no sense. They gave me an estimate around 2pm and finished the job at 5pm. I still have sound coming from my car so don't know what exactly they did. Plus the guy was not accepting the coupons issued by pep boys. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Highly recommend not to go to this place.

Went in for tire sensor calibration all sensors were working when I arrived, was told one sensor was bad and they replaced it $100 and it was defective so it was in worse shape after $200 Was told it would take 6-8 weeks and district manager approval for a refund check they couldn’t refund back to the card I played with was given attitude when I called back to tell them it wasn’t fixed. I took the car to Walmart and they got it fixed in 20 min for under $50

I've visited Pep Boys a couple times and sent my mom there for her vehicle. The consistency, awareness, and desire to educate is what brings me back. They've changed my oil. They've helped my family with tires and match most prices. Ultimately, I don't know if they are the cheapest, most expensive, fastest or slowest in town. I just know when things aren't right with my vehicle, I go here. Sometimes it takes time.. it's a shop... But I go back for the trust I have built with this team. Eric and team have always empowered me with information. "If you want to put that part on, it's actually very easy. Youtube and you can do it. But, if you're worried, know that we'll take care of it." I'll tell you, Pep Boys is my first call. They've saved me significant time and I'm grateful for an honest shop in town.

They Fixed my car, over $1000, I was told everything was fixed. 2 days later I returned it because fo a funny sound. They kept it another week saying they couldn't find anything wrong. Then they said it would be a $1000 to fix it. When I asked about the bill $1000 I had recently paid for the same problem. They had said everything was fixed. I was told the mechanic wasn't there i had to come back. After returning no one could help. 3 days later Then the Manager wasn't their on vacation for a week no help. No one could help with the problem. I Can't trust them anymore.

Our 2018 Pathfinder experienced some trouble recently while on a trip through Roanoke, VA. I tried, unsuccessfully, to get the local Roanoke Nissan dealership to take a look at it, even to call me to discuss how I might get someone else to take a look at it, but I couldn’t get them to call me. My son suggested that I find a Pep Boys near my hotel. I am so thankful that I did. I showed up right at opening. The guys took a look at it, showed me the problem, gave me a thorough report, complete with photos, and suggested how I could safely make it back home, which was another nine hours away. I made an appointment for the following Monday at my local SC dealership. They completely disagreed with what I was told by Pep Boys, even after looking at the report that was supplied by Pep Boys, as well the photos I had taken while our car was on the rack in Roanoke. After waiting for an hour and half at the local SC dealership to fix what they thought was the problem, the service staff came back with the news that their fix wasn’t the problem. They didn’t go so far as to apologize or admit that the Pep Boys mechanic had been spot on, but they had to eat a bit of crow when they told me what the problem actually was — and it was what Pep Boys said it was. If I lived closer to Pep Boys in Roanoke, I would take my cars there for every service available. I encourage those of you who do to take your vehicles there. These fellows know what they are doing!

Zero stars, almost killed my family. Took our car in while visiting Roanoke to address a shimmy, Pep Boys claims they balanced the tires - meanwhile, the shimmy continued to worsen and when we took it to our regular mechanic they said the lugnuts had clearly been hand-tightened and were so loose that some were barely attached. Called to complain and PB basically said too bad, tried to claim back through credit card and PB stated that they had provided the service paid for. Wouldn't trust them to screw on my gas cap.

Called and ordered tires. They were on sale. Wasn’t able to have installed till the following week. Asked if the sale would still be valid. I was told yes no problem. So the gentleman ordered the tires because they weren’t in stock and scheduled my appointment. I found out when I got there that the sale ended, but they did honor the sale price. My problem is they told me I needed an alignment. I got a printout of before and after, and they really did nothing, because it did not need it. So I paid $125 for something that was not necessary. My car drove smoothly before, now it has a little wiggle. I feel very taken advantage of. Update January 31, 2026 I received a call from Josh the manager on October 9, 2025. He left this voicemail. I spoke to him the same day and was told he would take care of the refund. I have called several times since and each time was told that a refund was coming. The last time I called he didn’t come to the phone and did not call back. He stated 4 to 6 weeks, but it’s been 4 months now and no refund. If you want to pay for unnecessary work, and be lied to, visit this PepBoys. If not, find you someplace better.

Great experience. I recently needed exhaust work done to pass inspection. Instead of trying to sell me new parts, they recommended another shop to make necessary repairs. Saving me over $2500. Needless to say. That's now my shop because I trust them.

If I could give negative stars I would, Ordered tires from Tire agent, had them sent to this location because it was the only option. The assistant manager called me as soon as the tires arrived and told me to come in whenever, I did. I also got TPMS but wasn't told they would be shipped separate, after the assistant manager fumbling around for some time, I was told to wait until I got the TPMS, I did. I came back, told them I had the sensors, they took the truck, and after 4+ hours and trying to sell me a $900 brake job they said it was done. They handed me my keys with no paperwork and I was told I was good to go. As I drove off I heard a strange bumping sound, and I noticed the TPMS hadn't been touched. Turns out not only did they not install the TPMS they left the lugs on the front right wheel loose resulting in damage to my wheel and both front hubs. I got it back to them, they are replacing the hubs and wheel, but now I've been told 3 different days it would be ready "no later than". On top of that the front desk guys are super unprofessional, they made up things and flat out lied to customers while I was waiting, and they made fun of them as well. I don't trust anything they say, the assistant manager blames everything on the GM who hasn't been there, and they seem to just say what will get you to leave.. I wouldn't take anything to them, and if you have make sure you check all the bolts and to make sure the work was actually done. Once I finally get my truck back I may update this, but it probably won't get better...
