Last night around 6:55pm me and my 6yr old daughter got in the car and I got an alert that one of my tires pressure went down to 17, when I went to put air in and noticed a screw in the tire. I still put the air in to see how it would go but it quickly started losing air again when I started driving ..it's almost 7 o'clock at night and there was no where that was open especially not in New Rochelle. I googled and found Pep Boy on Tremont and in the bx was the only place open aside from random other sketchy places on Boston Post Road in the bx and I know those other places required cash which I didn't have as well as having to stand outside in the freezing cold while they fix it...I called Pep boys and explained the situation and from the jump the very nice gentleman on the phone made me no promises that it could be fixed but offered to try and help as best as he could so I ran over there which was only about 13mins from New Rochelle. As soon as I got there I went in and again explained the situation and that I had a frantic 6yr old in the car scared that we were never going to get home. Chris eased my worries and immediately got one his worker to assess the situation, which ultimately was not an ideal situation but he spoke to me and explained thoroughly with this what the problem was and how to fix it because it was very late there were not many options, but he had made the best effort ever to try to patch the tile and hope that it held to at least hold me over for the night. I'm the time that the car was being worked on my daughter had finally calmed down and ended up very much enjoying our tire dilemma as she started making an obstacle course out of the tires in the waiting room while I had a great conversation with Chris about the needs for my car as well as many other interesting topics and when he noticed my daughter getting restless as the time went open he started talking to hey about his family and how much of a Moana fan they both are lol Overall what was an extremely stressful situation at first was eased and remedied by these gentlemen and thier great service, knowledge and professionalism. Definitely couldn't beat the price and left extremely satisfied and Grateful for them!! Thanked God for showing me this place and Chris for going above and beyond and for saving our lives last night!! I definitely will be going back there for the new tires that I desperately need and again super thankful to you guys!!

Dear Pep Boys Management, I’m writing to express my serious frustration with the poor service I received at your 2633 East Tremont Ave, Bronx location. I arrived at 10:00 AM for what should have been a simple oil change, brake, and rotor replacement, but I didn’t leave until almost 5.PM , over 7 hours to replace a break ? And I had to come back because they weren’t properly replaced and my car break/rotter still making horrible sound, I will not waste my time coming back here. I had to go to another mechanic , and pay extra to get this fix. For a basic service like this, such a delay is completely unacceptable. At no point was I informed it would take that long. If I had known, I would have simply purchased the rotors, brakes, oil, and filter myself and done the job at home , saving both time and the high cost of labor. For a service where you are charging almost $2,000 just for an oil change, brake, and rotor replacement, the least that should be expected is efficiency, transparency, and respect for the customer’s time. I value my time and my money, and I expect better communication, honesty, and professionalism from a national brand like Pep Boys. And to add the worst part for my customer experience is the verbal ghetto disrespect from employees who both should be terminated immediately. Orlando and Patrick Who both verbally disrespected me. Extremely disappointed with my experience here.

I had a horrible experience in this place. The moment I walked in, the Guyanese man behind the counter who wears glasses was arguing with a customer over the phone. Unfortunately he was the one who took care of me and he was so upset over the argument he just had on the phone and took it out on my husband and I. If you ever come into this place just go to the Spanish girl behind the counter because if it weren’t for her, there would have been way more angry customers in there. This is the last time I come into this place. Oh and did I forget to mention that I waited 3 1/2 hours just to get my tires changed and I had an appointment for 10:30?! Everyone that came in after me for the same reason, was gone way before me smh never again!!! That man should retire, he moves like a turtle!

This location does good work, good prices. They are quick and efficient! I only wish the place was nicer to wait in. Service men are not the best with customer service do if that is a big staple for you maybe go some place else. Chris is very nice, knowledgeable. I took full advantage of their expertise. These are my mechanic Guys for life now.

Might be the woest tire place I've ever had the displeasure of using. Talk about inconvenience. I could've changed and balanced my tires in the time it took for them to do it. Two times I went there in person after checking out with gigs tires using their discount with the installation and they didn't honor my appointment times. The first time I went there it was 4 pm they claimed they were understaffed and they basically had little information regarding my appointment at all. They said it would take 4 hours so I left and made another appointment. Mind you this was for TWO tires instillation and balance, no rotation. Second they said even there was an appointment the guy at the desk, the manager, (bigger older guy) said " what are we supposed to put you in front of other people here before you arrive?" Well yes see that's exactly what the whole point of having an appointment is for. For the Second time the other Latina woman working there said to make an appointment for first thing in the morning to ensure we are the first car to be worked on (even though again we have an 8 o'clock appointment time) and again he can't give me an estimated time and saying there's another car before me but saying it will take an hour and a half plus another two hours to install. This is complete bull and they have a flawed system and I'm surprised that they are even still in business. They are hiding behind the pep boys name with an understaffed/ careless front desk team. I just got my tried two tires put on with a walk in at a random place without an appointment and they finished the tire installation and balance in under 40 minutes for two tires. You get what you pay for. Usng the giga tires service with the nearest install location was a mistake and wasted two days of my time because of gross incompetence. Even if the tire install were free I wouldn't go back there. My time is priority and they don't care for it.

Was given a diagnostic and quote of $600 without them even lifting the car. I came in for an alignment and was told I needed additionl work done. I did not disagree, there was something that was causing the misalignment. They quoted me $600 without even lifting or looking at what could be causing the problem. The guy (wish I got his name) also looked annoyed that we were even there. Went somwhere else. Recieved a different diagnositc and paid half of what I would have paid here. Lazy, they don't want to do the work and they will quote you higher just to make it worth there time.

Had a 9:30 appointment for a state inspection, got there at 9:20 and there were like 5 people ahead of me waiting in the waiting room. Waited about 2 hours, got my car back with a new inspection sticker, no complaints! Customer service was good, no issues, pretty friendly and professional. Obviously the 2 hour wait for an inspection wasn't ideal, but it is what it is, they're busy. If you're impatient, just drop your car off and come back end of day lol

Employees are cool but scattered. I overpaid $200 for tires because a deposit was necessary for the order. I realized this mistake and it took weeks to get my money back. Be kind to them and you'll receive the same treatment. But make sure you call and keep tabs on them because they are not proactive to any degree. However, Justin was sweet and courteous and solved my problem in the end. Everyone's demeanor to me was very down to earth despite the frustrations.

I had an appointment scheduled at 9 AM for a car inspection. When I got there, the gentleman told me that my car won’t be ready until 11 AM because they only have one “inspector”. Apparently there was one more customer in front of me that was also waiting for an inspection. After sitting there for two hours, at 11, I asked for an update and they didn’t even get to my car yet. The woman, there was nice and she let me know that there was a long wait. But I explained to her my frustration that I’ve been waiting for two hours and my car has not been seen yet. I mean it’s an inspection. It shouldn’t take no more than 20 minutes and I was sitting there for two hours. I let her and the gentlemen know that I’m taking my car. I no longer want to have my car inspected there. As soon as I said that they said that my car was next in line and he was going to service it. But after waiting two hours, I’m not waiting any longer so I took my car and left. Both workers were nice but the gentleman should’ve never gave me a timeframe that I’ll be ready by 11 o’clock and didn’t follow through with that delivery. Pretty frustrating when I expected to just be in and out but it took two hours and I still didn’t get serviced.

I was about 30 minutes late to my appointment, but they still took me in and I really appreciated that. I won’t lie, it can be a bit of a wait, but honestly, it’s worth it. I wasn’t expecting to find out about all the issues with my car, and that’s what made Chris stand out. He took the time to show me what was going on and explain it clearly. I felt comfortable asking questions, and you can tell he knows his stuff. It’s clear he actually cares about the quality of the work. It’s hard to find service like that these days. I also found the text updates really convenient, letting me know when my car was being worked on and when it was ready for pickup. I stayed and waited, but the updates were still a nice touch. I’d definitely recommend this Pep Boys location, just bring a little patience, because good work takes time.

I don’t usually write reviews unless i’m blown away. I originally came into Pep Boys just to get my tires changed, but while I was there, Orlando and Justin let me know they had a great deal on an oil change, so I decided to take care of that as well. During the inspection, they also pointed out that my brake pads were worn. What I really appreciated was that they never pressured me into anything. Instead, they explained the situation clearly, gave me their professional opinion, and let me make the decision on my own. They were extremely knowledgeable and patient, and they made me feel completely comfortable asking a million questions without ever making me feel rushed or silly. Orlando and Justin were both kind, personable, and honest, which made the entire experience stress-free. Everything was explained upfront, and I felt confident that the recommendations were based on what my car truly needed, not just trying to get my money. Overall, the service was top-tier from start to finish. I left knowing my car was in great shape and feeling really good about the experience. I’ll absolutely be coming back and recommending this location to others! 10/10 Customer service!

They told me their hourly labor cost is 181 usd an hour. To change a rear wheel bearing hub quoted me 250 dollar without parts(I bought the parts online). When I went to nates auto in bronx they told me 100 usd. What a rip off. Wont come back. Customer service rep name was Orlando.

This has to be the worst store. I stopped going a few years ago because they made me wait 7 hours for an oil change and took people in front of me. )That wasn’t the first time that was done to me)That was WITH an appointment. Today I went when they opened. I was the FIRST person. I noticed that a young lady that came 30 minutes after me was being serviced for the same or similar service. (I overheard her being asked about her tire) she came 30-40 Minutes after me but her car was inside being worked on along with another gentlemen that came after me( not sure what he was there for) There’s no reason why changing a tire should take 2 hours plus if you’re the FIRST person. They pick and choose who they want to service and who they want to make wait. I had to get up and just purchase my tire and go somewhere else to have it installed. (I actually paid less for installation else where it took them 30 minutes) I waited years to try this place again and clearly nothing has changed. The lady that checked me out and gave me my tire was super sweet and helpful. The rating would be 5 stars if it was solely based on her assistance.

Horrible experience pep boys lost a long time, loyal customer. On Monday, we place an order for 4 brand new tires and an alignment to be done on the car, when we dropped off the car at 11:30. They confirmed the order took payment on the order which was almost $1200 and was told that we will get a call or text when the car was done. We went back at 2 o’clock sign the paperwork that needed to be signed walked over to the car only to notice that nothing was done to the vehicle. It had the same tires, when we walk back into the Pep Boys The assistant manager said we should have confirmed the order and it takes 3 to 4 days for the tires to arrive. Mind you online, it said that the tires were available at this location and even gave us time to choose from to schedule it the same day. I told him when we came this morning you confirmed the order and took payment for the order. It went to the back in the back they saw the order and nobody noticed that you guys didn’t have the tires and on top of that he wanted to charge us a $10 nonrefundable fee without any work being done to the car. When I told him that was not fair, they didn’t do anything to the car. His response was it’s only $10. It’s not like it’s $100. This is coming from the assisting manager. He refunded me my $1200 and said it was OK if we didn’t come back. Pep boys lost a long time valuable customer very rude and a professional that whole staff needs to be changed or retrained.
