I had a very good experience with this Pep Boys tonight. I am from out of state and have been driving through Colorado. At noon today I noticed my rear tire was blown out. I went to Big O Tires in Cañon City and they patched the tire and sent me on my way. By 6:40 tonight that same tire was completely blown out again. I looked to see if there was a Big O tire open and they were all closed so I went to Pep Boys because they were still open for 20 more minutes. I was for sure thinking I was gonna get turned away because of the time but Gavin and Michael were great. They took a look at my tires and got me in right away. They said they were surprised that the previous mechanic had just patched it because it definitely called for a complete replacement. My other tires were quite old so they got them all replaced together. They worked till 7:40, 40 minutes past closing, so that I could get back on the road safely. I was pleasantly surprised by their customer service and willingness to go above and beyond to help me. Definitely recommend them!

Can anyone please explain to me WHY I was able to schedule my appointment online on a Sunday for Tuesday at 6:30pm to have my rear brakes replaced only to get there ON TIME and be told that 1. They only gave time to do an inspection “if I wanted”. 2. Even if they were to do the brakes, the parts delivery stops at 6pm. To which my response is this: 1. Inspect the brakes AS you’re replacing them. You can hear me from miles away. It’s not rocket science. 2. Why were the parts required for the brake job not ALREADY available for the brake job?! It’s not like this was a last minute “hey can you squeeze me in” type of thing. Not only that, but there was a call made prior to me even showing up in person because of the horrible weather and flooded roads. Why was this information not mentioned on the phone??? Absolutely horrible customer service and not even the decency to suggest or offer an alternative. Dude was smug as could be and just stated at me while leaning over the counter. Great work, Dick.

Called Tuesday evening just before closing and was able to get a quote for brake pad/rotor replacement and schedule an appointment for the next morning when they open. John pleasantly greeted me and got me taken care of in a very timely manner. The shop guys were super efficient and thorough in their inspections/recommendations. The customer lounge wasn't too small like most shops are, so it could accommodate multiple customers waiting. Would definitely recommend getting vehicle repairs here. John made the whole process smooth and as painless as vehicle repairs can be.

If you’re gonna try to upsell someone at least be accurate. Cannot remember the gentleman’s name but I was in there for just a tire replacement and he tells me “Colorado State law any tire down to 5/32nds had to be replaced and is unsafe and you will be getting a ticket” I’m a service advisor at Toyota that is so inaccurate. Then he tells me that my brakes are at 3mm when they just got checked in November and they were around 6mm. So you mean to tell me that a month and a half my pads wore down 3mm with barely 1k miles driven from that point on? Yeah seems sketchy. All tires need to be at 2/32nds in order for that to go in effect. If that was the case a helluva lot of people are in need of tires. I would at least respect the fact that you would say my tires are getting low and are pretty much at half life. Giving me an option to replace soon. So instead of having people feel like it’s super urgent and dangerous I feel there is no honesty and integrity. I feel like it was an insult to my intelligence. I’ve been in the car business for awhile now and idk if it is my age or appearance to him that he may think I don’t know these things but I do. It’s kinda crazy. But not only that it took an hour an a half to change just 1 tire, crazy. First and last time coming here.

2 hours and 45 minutes after my appointment started before they started on my car. For a tire rotation… somehow went from a chip in my windshield to a crack during the appointment. So I don’t imagine they put the lift down gently..

The place was busy with about 5 other flat tires when my car was towed in with a flat. They were kind and apologetic for the wait. It didnt even end up being very long considering how busy they were. I definitely suggest getting your tires from them and they will make sure your always taken care of.

Didn't have the tire that were "available today" on the site so I got a different set for a bit more money. I set an appointment time and was told it would take about an hour, so I decided to wait it out. I was waiting for over 3 hours... First impressions were a bit off to begin with. There was just a slice of leftover pizza chillin on the front counter amidst a bunch of paperwork with crumbs everywhere. When I walk into a "professional" establishment I expect it to be as such. I understand people have to eat and all that but thats what breakrooms are for. That didnt bother me too much it was just a bad first impression. Over 3 hours for a set of tires AFTER an appointment is made is wild. If you can't handle the volume of customer dont schedule so many appointments.. I saw 3 people come in after me leave before me. My vehicle was on the lift WITHOUT tires for 2 hours!? I will not be going back to this store. This was a horrible experience. I DO NOT recommend going here.

I am writing to share my deep appreciation for the outstanding service and protection provided by Mr. Charles from pep boys south academy yesterday. I am an active-duty member of the Air Force and visited your shop in uniform during my lunch break for a wheel alignment. During the check-in process, a woman entered the shop and began acting erratically. When Charles asked her to wait a moment, she turned her hostility toward me, shouting, "Do you have a problem, government employee?" Charles immediately took command of the situation. He stepped in to defend me, informed the woman I had no issue with her, and quickly identified that she was not there for any legitimate business. He professionally escorted her off the premises and informed her he would contact the police if necessary. What impressed me most was that Charles didn’t let the incident rattle him. He transitioned back to assisting me with a welcoming smile and a positive attitude. To ensure my total peace of mind, he even personally escorted me to my ride to make sure I was safe before I left. Please give Charles the applause and official recognition he deserves. It is rare to find someone who prioritizes both technical service and customer safety with such grace. Well done, sir—I truly appreciate you.
