I would like to commend KB. I'm a cop and unfortunately on night shifts. The loner car I'm in is garbage and had a headlight out. After running across town once my shift started at 6pm, I ended up at Pep Boys 20 minutes before closing. KB who was finishing up paperwork inside stopped to listen to what was wrong with my vehicle, and got to work immediately and fixed my issue. He fixed it faster than anyone could believe, and was friendly, kind and took his work seriously. Thank you so much, KB and I will definitely be back and taking this up to my superiors for when our cars need something fixed, Pep Boys is a great shop to visit!

Fast and affordable oil change and cabin air filter replacement. Just make sure they check the oil level properly afterward—on my last two visits it was overfilled and I had to return to get it corrected. They replaced my cabin air filter but lost a couple of screws—when I came back, they fixed it right away. This morning (9/10/2025), the gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful, so I’ll likely come back again.

Timing couldnt have been worse as it was a Sunday at 4pm, but KB took care of us and was able to locate the tires for us, have them delivered and back on the road in less than an hour. They were great in that since they didn't have the tires I picked on-line in stock, they offered me slightly better tires for the same price. I didn't like that with their free inspection they said my car needed nearly a thousand dollars of brake and shock work. Also, when they were done installing two rear tires, my tire sensor lights came on. After nearly two hours of checking, they said three of my sensors were bad. Two of them were on tires they didn't even service. When I reminded them of this fact, suddenly 15 minutes later the sensor lights were off. A couple of days later they came back on. I checked the tire pressure and found that one of the tires they replaced was low. I put the proper pressure in and the lights went off. They have been off since (about a week).

There are lots of car shops in Tallahassee. I’d recommend going somewhere else. On my last trip, I had the rear shocks, water pump, and all four brake pads replaced here. The brakes are fine. The issues have been with the shocks and possibly the water pump. Right after the rear shocks were replaced, the ride felt basically the same as before. I brought the car back to this shop twice and was told everything “seemed fine.” A few months later, I took the car to a different shop. They confirmed the shocks had been replaced, but couldn’t tell what brand was used. I called PepBoys and got the part number of the shocks they installed. From what I could tell from an internet search, they were low-end shocks. I had that shop install another new pair of shocks, and the ride was noticeably better right away. I essentially paid to have the rear shocks replaced twice because PepBoys, in my opinion, tried to save money and installed what I’m guessing are very low-end shocks. I ended up paying twice for a job that should have been done once with quality parts. During that same visit, the second shop also told me the new water pump was leaking. I went back to PepBoys, and they confirmed the water pump was leaking and said they would replace it under warranty. Update: Regarding the shocks, PepBoys later insisted they would have replaced them if I wasn’t satisfied, but this was only offered after I posted a public Google review. That option was never mentioned either of the two times I brought the car in and told them the shocks felt the same as before. As for the water pump, I’m still waiting on the replacement. I dropped the car off at 9:30 a.m. yesterday. A manager named Travis called around noon and said they would call back later in the day to confirm the part. I called back at 5:00 p.m. and was told Travis would call me. I called again at 6:00 p.m. and was told he hadn’t forgotten and would call me back. I called again after 7:00 p.m., and the shop was closed. I’d like to add that I think the guys at this shop are very nice. I just need to get this issue wrapped up. I brought the car in for one set of repairs and have been back way too many times, and the problem still isn’t resolved. If someone from PepBoys is monitoring this, can you give me a call?
