Had a heat shield rattle on my Nissan that was really annoying and embarrassing. I called so many places, but everyone was telling me I was required to drop it off, which was simply impossible for me. Those who didn't require drop offs had weeks long waiting lists. Called DT Garage. They were so polite on the phone and got me an appointment that same week. Came in, and still super polite, even showed me what part of the heat shield was rattling and how they'd fix it. They got it fixed for me right away. Price was more than reasonable. 10/10 will come again next time I have a car problem.

We were traveling through from Jacksonville towing a camper and had an issue develop with our truck swaying. Elroy took time and checked our truck and quickly discovered the back tire was separating. Even though he couldn't fix the tire he referred us to someone close who took care of us. What a great experience we had with DT s. While searching for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic, I came across D+T’s. With so many great reviews and numerous recommendations from Tallahassee’s subreddit, I decided to call them for a wheel bearing repair estimate. After contacting several other suggested shops, I ultimately chose D+T’s, as they provided the most competitive estimate. Not only did I not pay a cent over the quoted price, but they also completed the repair exceptionally well — getting me in and out in less than 24 hours. I can’t overstate how friendly and professional the staff were, or the immense relief I felt knowing I had finally found the dependable mechanic I’d been searching for in Tallahassee (which, as we know, can feel like finding a needle in a haystack!). Reliable, knowledgeable, & friendly service. DT's garage is a phenomenal family owned shop that goes above and beyond for customers. I was halfway through a 300 mile roadtrip when my check engine light came on & my car started having performance problems. After calling 7 other places, DT's was the only garage around willing to work on my car on a Friday. They diagnosed & helped find several solutions within a few hours to get me back on the road safely. Beyond grateful for their experience & compassion. Definitely recommend and would use them again!

I had a great experience with this business. The entire staff was kind, honest, and respectful. The mechanics openly communicated with me throughout the entire process and did their due diligence to not only fix the specific thing I asked them to but to make sure there wasn't a bigger or related problem before they released my car to me, which after an awful experience with the dealership, I really appreciate. I was looking for a reputable repair shop for our son who is a student at FSU. After reading reviews, I selected DT's and it was a GREAT choice! My son was treated very well, the mechanic was awesome and totally honest, and actually told my son not to put another cent into his vehicle because it was just going to waste his money. It was a selfless recommendation and one we appreciated so much after recently being taken for $1790 at at Toyota dealership in Chicago. I would go 6 star rating if I could. I've known the Martin's for years and they've always been consistent, honest, salt-of-the-earth folks. They run their shop honestly, alongside fantastic communication (Shout out Bobby & Jr.), and ensure both you and your vehicle are taken care of. If you're considering buying a vehicle and can bring it to DT's I would as they can save you a ton of future headaches. My dad was driving to St. Petersburg from Louisiana for my son’s 1st birthday party this weekend. Unfortunately, he had a radiator issue that caused the truck to stall on the interstate in the early hours of the morning near Tallahassee. A tow truck picked him up and brought him to D T’s right at opening. The great reviews stood out and looked like the best auto repair option in Tallahassee. The owners, father and son got my dad in right away and started working on the truck as they knew his travel plans! He got out of there in just a few hours and is on his way to St. Pete now! Asked them for quote for a water pump replacement. Then asked how much extra to change the thermostat while at it. The thermostat is mounted to the water pump assembly. He quoted me full price for the thermostat replacement even though they have to remove the old one and put it back on while changing the water pump. Meaning there should be zero labor hours to replace it with a new one versus the old one, and in addition he would have been charging me for for double coolant and purging the system of air, since both are required for a water pump or thermostat replacement. The response "I charge what the computer estimates". That my friends is NOT a good business tactic!!! Find a garage that will charge you for the actual time spent on a project, NOT what the computer estimates. This is the same as charging full price for changing brake rotors and full price for changing brake pads as if it was two separate jobs when you have to pull the calipers to get to the rotors. Honesty goes a long way in today's environment!!! Reply to your response. This is a simple discussion. When changing a water pump, you must pull out the old one and clean off the gasket to reinstall. By putting a new one in, you would actually save time. By charging full price for a thermostat you are robbing people and "we use the computer" will NOT get ANY of my business, and hopefully people have an understanding of how your business operates! You are taking advantage of people, period. AS for finding someone to fix my vehicle, I did it myself for a third of what you were going to charge. Thank you.

I came here because of reviews speaking of honesty, but unfortunately found myself feeling that I’d been taken advantage of. I scheduled service for a prius, after verbally confirming with both the front desk rep and the mechanic that the issue could be diagnosed and serviced. I found out a few hours later that they did not in fact have the equipment to properly diagnose a prius, was charged for a diagnostic anyways, and I was told to go elsewhere. I had made it known in the first place that I am aware not all auto shops have the ability to service hybrids, as I had been told by several before contacting DT’s. I will give benefit of the doubt and say an effort to help was made. However I would have preferred to have been turned away at the first contact so I could have saved my time and money. EDIT: The original complaint I brought to the shop was of the code reading I got from Autozone, not just “check engine light.” (As for the AC, I was told they could find no issue before I ended up needing a new cabin filter at the next place I went). My own input was overlooked and they decided to do their own code reading and repeat it back to me, which is fine, except they then specifically told me that they didn’t have the equipment to diagnose, this after the initial confirmation that they COULD diagnose. Now their reply here talks of time spent on a “diagnostic” and it doesn’t add up. I understand that time was invested on the car, but I find issue with the fact that the bill I received notably wasn’t for a labor charge but for this “diagnostic” which was ultimately just a repeat code reading. Again, I could have saved money and avoided missing time at work by avoiding this shop but they managed to collect money from my situation by not being truthful about their capabilities, which can easily be seen as “taking advantage” whether deliberate or not.
