Had a 9 am appointment on 8 9 25 got up early on my off. Day delivered it an hour away to pet boys on Monday evening day. No one still has not looked at my truck. The thing that I asked them to look at, they have not looked at right? But they looked at everything else. He told me what I was wrong with steering. What was wrong with this? What was wrong with my steering wheel? And I didn't ask any of that, I just asked for him to fix the motor they're having a difficult time right now.It seems

This review is not so much about Pep Boys as it is about how smart Pep Boys was to hire Brittany for their Callaway store. She deserves a raise. That is the first time I’ve ever used that phrase in a review, but in this case, it’s warranted. The way she cheerfully answered the phone is the reason I visited in the first place. She had a smile in her voice and gave me excellent, accurate information. After this interaction, I felt confident that Pep Boys would be able to take care of my automotive needs in a timely manner and at a fair price. There were a few issues on my second visit, but Brittany smoothed everything out and made sure we had a resolution and that, most importantly, my car was repaired. I can’t say enough about her excellent customer service skills or the way she expertly and intelligently manages controlled chaos. I’ve worked in similar roles, and I understand how stressful and draining it can be to manage clients on the phone and in the store, operate a computer invoicing system, and communicate constantly with employees in the shop. It has to be challenging. Yet Brittany is still kind to every customer and gives each situation her full attention. The first impression many customers get is that initial phone call. Her soft skills are impeccable. She even makes people not mad to have to hold for a minute. She didn’t pay me to write this, and I don’t know her personally, but she’s one of the most adept front-end managers I’ve seen in a while. I would hire her in a minute. So again, Pep Boys, give her a raise. I do appreciate the work done by the mechanics and shop employees (thanks, Smith!), but Brittany is the reason I’ll return to this location and recommend it to others.

On 8/7/25, I—a disabled veteran—was humiliated, disrespected, and discriminated against by the employees at Pep Boys #1527. What should have been a simple service appointment turned into one of the most degrading experiences of my life. I arrived for my 9:00 a.m. service appointment and parked in the handicapped space directly in front of the store. I checked in with Richard, the service took about 30 minutes, and I paid with no issues. But when I got into my car, I froze. Sitting on my passenger seat was a handwritten note telling me not to park in handicapped parking because I’m “not handicapped.” That moment is burned into my memory. My hands shook. My heart pounded. I was stunned that anyone—let alone a business entrusted with my vehicle—would violate my private space and judge my disability, something they know nothing about. I immediately went back inside and asked to speak with the manager. Richard claimed the manager “might be out delivering parts” and wasn’t answering his phone. I sat in the waiting area for nearly half a hour, feeling exposed and humiliated as other employees stared at me from the service bays. When the manager, Wes, finally arrived, I expected concern and professionalism. Instead, I got condescension: “So you assume one of my employees did this?” and “How do you know it wasn’t a customer?” His tone made it clear—he didn’t believe me. Only after I pressed did he mention cameras. He also show me a picture of his African American wife and spoke of his biracial children, making the entire interaction even more uncomfortable and dismissive. Hours later, Wes called from what appeared to be his personal cell phone to tell me I was right—the camera showed his employee AND the employee confessed. But instead of focusing on the harm done, Wes went on about Florida handicap parking laws and his unwarranted phone call to the DMV, completely missing the point: One of his employees invaded my personal property, left a cruel note, and judged me for my disability. I was offered an apology from the employee, but I could not bring myself to return to the place where I had been shamed and violated. Wes later texted that the employee would be suspended without pay, but the damage was already done. I left Pep Boys feeling smaller, angrier, and more humiliated than I have in years. This wasn’t just bad service—this was discrimination, harassment, and a violation of my dignity. No customer, disabled or otherwise, should ever have to experience this. ******************************** Original review on 7/20/25 - Brittany was very helpful.

Called them and they said they could take my o2 sensor out but won’t put the one I already bought in the car, wanted to put in their own which is expensive and I don’t trust to be the right one cause I have a very unique car. So asked if I could just put it in myself and they said that’s fine and made an appointment but then at my appointment they said they can’t take it out and not put one in cause that’s a liability now also so wouldn’t do it so wasted my time saying they would do it and now have to wait till tomorrow to have a different place do it. Crappy customer service for sure so wouldn’t use this place ever for sure.

The employees at Pep Boys in Callaway, FL are all top notch. Especially WES! This man took the time to explain things about our repair to us thoroughly, showed us what would need repairs in the future due to wear and tear. We finished with one vehicle, and because of their expertise, decided to bring our other vehicle for service just 2 days later. Truly a good job!

Wheel bearing installed by Pep Boys began to fail within 1 year. Went back, warranty honored, new bearing installed at no charge parts or labor. They back up their work. I'll be back as needed to Pep Boys of Callaway, FL While there, they discovered a bad transmission line leak I hadn't noticed. I have an older dodge pick up, they tracked down the parts needed, would take a number of hours to get. I lived an hour away so elected to wait. After several hours while I waited, Wes the manager, invited me to a pre-Thanksgiving shop pot luck dinner they were having!!! While fixing the problem another issue arose because of rusty parts. Could have been an expensive fix, but rather than charge me for an entire new transmission radiator, they had my wallet in mind, and figured out a way to replace a single adapter only... saved me hundreds! Saved me big dollars, got what turned out to be a time consuming and difficult job done, got me back on my way, and fed me a home cooked buffet style shop dinner!!! I need anything done in the future, I'll be bringing it back here, and have already recommended Wes & crew to others! Thanks again for service that was over and above... like the old days!!!

These guys are legit. Came here after another shop tried to sell me a $700 control arm and couldn’t finish my alignment. They checked everything, explained it clearly, and proved the control arm was fine. Honest, fast, and actually helpful. Won’t go anywhere else now. Wesley and his tech are stand up guys.

I have had some trouble with my 2017 Renegade. I brought it in for check engine light. Everyone from my first point of contact to the pick up was top notch customer service. I have a warranty through a third party and was able to use that service and be reimbursed accordingly to the third party contract. My husband is a veteran and they allowed us to have a military discount. We will continue to use this service center going forward.

I brought my 2001 caddilac here for a radiator water pump replacement. After having my car for 3 weeks it came back to me worse than before I dropped it off. They told me that they were unable to fix the water pump, because they werent equipped properly?! I broke down 2 miles down the road after telling me the car was ok to drive. I cannot believe the technicians let me drive it off the premises in that condition they have zero regard for the safety of their clients apparently, I'm pretty sure they just wanted my car off the lot. I didn't hassle them or flinch at the price increases, I just wanted my car fixed and I figured pep boys being a national recognized company could fix a water pump and a radiator but I was wrong. The manager did offer me an apology and that was all. I've been in the service industry for 25 years and if I treated my guests like this I'd be out of a job. I am completely unsatisfied with the pep boys in calaway. It did cost me $1200+ for this dis service!
