Brought the car I was thinking of buying to these guys to look it over. They took my car on time, treated me with kindness and respect, and provided the exact peace of mind I was looking for before making such a big purchase. I know enough about cars that I could tell they were telling it to me straight and they were being honest and making sure I understood everything they were saying. I had my car towed in just to get an idea of the problem. They said it was a fuel injection issue. They did not once tell me that if they fixed the first issue there's a possibility it would continue to have issues in the same system. If they had told me $2500 on a gamble that it would run right after. I would have had it picked up and parted the car out. Then they advised me to put brand new $800 tires AFTER the work was done and they knew it was not running was right. They also said I needed new struts a problem that was not an issue before I brought it in. When I picked it up the check engine light came on immediately they said "ohh run super unleaded in it for a week and that will go away," it never did. I got a second opinion and they said I would have told you not to do any work on this car it's a money pit. He also said Phil and son likely put on used parts and never changed my spark plugs and to advise I put new tires on is insane. I called the mechanic that did my work. He was yelling and saying I was complaining. If you drop $3300 on a car with no warning this may not fix it I think most people would be annoyed. But I spoke in a calm collected voice and he apologized for yelling several times but when it got to a point he was calling me a complainer it was time to end the call and reach back out to the BBB as I told him I would if this was not resolved. He was more concerned about me going to the BBB than he was in coming to a compromise as that's all I said I wanted. He wanted me to bring it back to him and pay full rates on parts and work. There's many things I'm leaving out that are completely negative to that shop since I want people to read this under 300 words and not make it a novel. They lied, they likely put parts that were from a junk yard on, they never advised me this might not fix it, they had me put parts on for no reason why would I agree to put 800$ into a car that won't go over 2000rpms? All around stay away from this shop, unless you feel like burning money because it's either incompetence or plain old fashioned typical scam mechanic behavior.

The recent snow storm 3/14 ruined the bottom of my front bumper. The clips fell out it all I needed was a quick fix before work. Expecting to wait or book an appointment they took my car right in fixed in within 10 minutes. Employees are helpful and genuine. Definitely would recommend 👌 so grateful

I had an amazing mechanic back in mass and I never thought I’d stumble across their doppelgänger in NH..Phil and Sons is amazing, doesn’t try to nickel and dime you, is very straightforward and does super good and honest work. Brought my car to get inspected when I moved to NH and these guys were more than transparent and helpful with me. Will be bringing my car back here regularly for service and work. So happy to have found this garage! The first time there was when I was out with my daughter, and my tire was going flat from a screw I picked up somewhere. I pulled in, and Doug came right out and repaired my tire at no cost. Since then my husband and I have brought our cars in for repairs and inspections. The work has always been excellant and the prices are very fair.

Left work today and my muffler was making noise and rattling. Called them and asked if they could squeeze me in and just take a look. Not only did they take a look but they fixed the problem. There’s no where else i know that would do something like that 1 hour before closing! Brian was friendly, kind and went above and beyond. I will be taking my car here moving forward. I highly recommend this car shop. I had an expensive, major repair that needed to be done and was shopping around for a good price. Not only was Phil’s shop one of the cheapest prices around, but he is the most communicative and honest mechanic I have ever met. He explained everything to me in ways I understood, and he made sure I was updated along the way. I called on a Tuesday and got an appointment for the next day—and my car was done the same Wednesday. I was extremely impressed because I had just waited several days for a smaller repair elsewhere, where I had gotten no updates along the way. In addition, he gave me advice on another car issue without even trying to make money from it. In fact, I was able to fix the second car issue without spending any money, which was a huge blessing. My car is driving like new again, and I’m so grateful!

I was on my way home to Upstate VT, when my car broke down on RT93 in Hooksett. I got it towed to my daughters house and drove it a couple of miles to Phil and Son. I explained how the car broke down, but it could be drive a couple of miles before overheating. Phil said he had a full week, but he would take a look at it by the next day. I understood, being a Monday everyone dropping their car off. I got a call from Phil around 230 same day, saying he looked at my car, found something within the cooling system, which I feel is the error of Subaru dealership up here. Phil did quite a bit of testing, got it so I could get home 200 miles away, and the price was better than I expected. Honest person, thorough, diligent. While visiting Manchester on a short trip we quickly stopped in. My child dropped a small game card behind the seat of our rental thus causing tears. It took us longer to walk inside and explain than it did for the gentleman to come out and grab it. He saved us from having a horrible weekend and showed how to do it myself next time it happens. 5 stars all around. I drove in with any over heating and smoking engine that was about to explode. They dropped everything to help me even though I had no way to pay for their service Phil and Sons were able to help me with my engine issues! It's even more impressive that they're not charging you for their services. it's great that they're in high demand, but it can be challenging for them to keep up. Perhaps they’d benefit from more help to help them manage their high workload Is there any companies able to help them recruit and hire more staff or manage their workload better It's clear that Phil and Sons prioritize their customers' needs and provide excellent service. They deserve all the support they can get!

I work close to Phil & Sons and I had called them pretty last minute looking for a rear brake job, oil change and tire rotation. They squeezed me into their schedule the same week. Phil was very transparent on services and their costs and I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of in anyway. Some places will charge you for all sorts of things and then tell you after its already been done to your car. They did exactly what I needed, gave me a quote for everything, and it ended up costing about as much as what he quoted me. They were so kind and accomodating. I will definitely be going back!

I found out about Phil & Son Auto Repair from a friend that raved about their service, honesty and transparency. My friend was 100% correct because Phil and his son do great work, they are incredibly honest and they have saved me at least $3000 from being over-quoted at the dealership. Excellent service! I have a 08 Ford Ranger making this awful clinking noise when I make left turns. Brought it to Phil & Son and they diagnosed and repaired the problem the same day. They even found issues with my rear brakes I didn't even know about and fixed that too. I definitely recommend this garage.
