My son's transmission went out on his 2016 impala had to order used transmission while at precision auto. I asked before we even started i asked for a quote on how much to do a transmission replacement they quoted my 700$ to complete and 110$ for the work they have already done. Long story short got the bill 1,373.74 after they were complete but they were nice enough to discount it 1250.63 for a 810$ quote

They had my vehicle for a total of about 4 months. I took it to them because it wouldn’t start and they got it running again but with a bad misfire. I picked it up and returned it the next day and telling them it had a misfire, they had it for a couple of weeks. I picked it up again when they said it was running good and they said it was a bad ground, I drove it for 40 min and it broke down on me in the middle of traffic, so I had it towed back to them because that was where I had left my other vehicle from earlier. This time when my vehicle broke down it had a bad leak, I thought it was gas and oil mix. Another month goes by and I picked it up and it still has that bad misfire. I wasn’t happy with their service.

I’ve had a couple of vehicles fixed here. The staff is terrific, professional and they know what they’re doing with your car. They were able to diagnose my problem and tell me exactly what they needed to do before they did it, and they were right each time. I’m the type to plan on driving my car til the wheels fall off, and I’m glad to have a reliable mechanic in my corner to make sure that takes as long as possible. A+

Went in for a service, oil change/filter, etc. Great experience and took less than an hour. They are very busy and when I go there, many cars are in the lot in the process or awaiting ok to proceed to work on them. That shows that people in the region trust Precision Tune for their auto needs. All day there are people going in for appts. or questions. I highly recommend Precision Tune. 😊👍 Went in to have battery replaced in December 2025. They did a great job. I recommend they highly.

You're not going to believe what happed when I went to Precision tune today. Every once in a while, my truck is a little slow to crank (every once in a while, like once a month maybe, and just a little slow). Well I figured that rather than risk being stranded, I'd have it checked out and probably get a new battery. I made an appointment at Precision. On my way there I'm thinking to myself, it's probably nothing, but I know they're going to sell me something either way; a new battery ($300), or a new alternator ($500), there's no way they'll just tell me everything checks out fine. I got there, they were ready for me, the waiting room was nice and they got my truck in right away. 15 minutes later, they tell me that everything checks out fine, Battery is good, alternator is good, "you don't need anything". I was like wow, that's great news, is there a fee for checking it? Heck, I'll gladly pay an "Honest Mechanic Fee". She checked and said nope, no worries, just remember us next time you need something (I think I may have teared up a little 🥹 ) I'll absolutely remember them and go no where else. I may even do an online review. 😉 Thanks Precision! 🤝 BTW: it's not even about the money..... it's about the Joy of finding an honest garage. 🤠

We were visiting the mountains for a weekend trip, then we noticed a small hole in one of our tires and air was coming out quickly. I called what it seemed like to be 20 auto shops, and they were all too busy to get us in. When I called Precision Tune and they told us they’ll fit us in, it was a total life-saver. They saved our vacation! It was selfless of them because it was a Saturday and they looked extremely busy. They plugged our tire for a very cheap price. All of the workers were super friendly and patient. We had a bunch of plans for that day, and they were able to make it so we didn’t have to skip anything. We’re more than happy with our experience with Precision Tune.

I have raised my children to always try to be educated to some degree in everything. I have raised my daughter to realize that some prey on the innocence and lack of experience in certain fields such as car lots and mechanic shops. I know some will relate and some will take offense but that has been my reality. My daughter was told her car had a blown headgasket. Needed replaced and engine work done totaling $4500. Then was told she needed to just purchase a reman engine and have it dropped in by local shop to downtown kingsport. Upwards of 7k I kept being drawn back to a shop in Johnson City as I read reviews, ratings , etc. I prayed, I cried and I prayed some more . I called them told them the suspected diagnosis and got a quote. We dropped the car off yesterday and today I received a miracle I prayed for. He calls and says "Ms. Fields this is Jeff with Precision Tune Auto and ma'am i am calling to inform you i have performed every test needed, duplicated to be sure and your engine is in good condition and passing all test. Your headgasket nor engine needs replaced. I did find some things that need addressed and here is the cost. Would you like me to complete these for you?" When I say a weight was lifted I could have literally floated! Thank you Jeff and Jeff and anyone else who had a hand in today's work. I want them to know they restored my faith in good, honest, mechanic work ethic and they have gained my respect and future business. So if you need any mechanic work I suggest you give them a call.

Then the car wouldn't start, I knew it would need a starter, they jumped on it Monday morn. As they said they would and I was on the road shortly after.
