Referred to Chris by retired Mike Rumph. (IYKYK) I was so scared he would tell me to fix things that were not all that necessary. Hell, I’ve put all 270K miles on it all by myself and just need to make it to 300K. He not only fixed my initial problem… but gave me a list of what I need to do next … with prices. Price was so reasonable. He is so incredibly smart. I listened to him coach another Volvo customer while I waited (not even 5 minutes) He knew my xc90s problem at “hello”. I highly recommend! Chris is the owner and a regular encyclopedia of knowledge about Volvo's. I like that Chris never tells you to get something you don't really need. He explains things clearly, gives you your options and the pros and cons, then does great work. The guys in the back doing the actual wrench turning do a great job!

The customer service is unbeatable-- Chris and his team take the time to listen to your concerns and talk it out with you. My XC90 gave us some issues and Reputable Volvo was my lifesaver; they took the time to do the job right and kept me informed, always patient and understanding of my mechanical limitations. I bought a high mileage used Volvo and needed somewhere honest and reputable to take it. Several friends highly recommended Reputable Volvo Service and I am glad they did. First off, their labor rate is over 30% less than the other Volvo service place in Charleston. Secondly, I feel like they truly take the time to listen and they explained what was required in laymans terms and I fully understood everything they were going to do before they did it. I appreciate Chris and his mechanics! They fixed my power lift gate in 1.5 hours for a very affordable price compared to the Volvo dealership! I will be returning for any major repairs that may occur on my 2012 Volvo XC60! I also advertised Reputable Volvo in local Facebook groups in which I am a member. RVS is a great place to have any year or model Volvo diagnosed and repaired. I’ve taken my wife’s 2010 XC60 here and have been satisfied every time. Prices are fare, Chris doesn’t try to rip you off, and usually they have the parts needed already in stock. I would recommend anyone not wanting to go to a dealer to check RVS out and you’ll see what all these reviews are talking about.

Chris was absolutely amazing. I took my 2020 Volvo XC90 to the dealership because my sensors were continually giving me an error message. The Volvo dealership told me the accessory battery needed to be replaced and charged me almost $300 for the battery. I continued to have problems with the sensors. I called the dealership back and they stated my main battery needed to be replaced and it was going to be over $500. I wanted to get a second opinion before paying even more for the same issue. I took my car to Chris and he when above and beyond. He told me the batteries should be under my factory warranty seeing that my car was fairly new. I called the dealership and they proceeded to tell me that the batteries were not covered. Chris took it upon himself to call Volvo National and get the information I needed to show the dealership that my batteries were covered under the factory warranty. The dealership reimbursed me for the accessory battery and replaced my main battery free of charge. Chris did not charge me penny for helping me with this and has gained my future business as a result. It is very hard to find service as great as this these days. Thanks again Chris!

Just returned home from my first visit to Reputable Volvo and I was very pleased with the service and would highly recommend their shop. The guys are friendly and very knowledgeable and although I only had a couple small, minor issues addressed today, I would absolutely recommend them for any/all of your Volvo needs...large or small! They are busy but got me in quickly for an appointment, addressed the issues, and made some recommendations but not for unnecessary repairs. The shop name is certainly appropriate ("Reputable Volvo")! I will definetly be going back to see them. Great guys, service, and prices! (And they have a super sweet office cat. 😻)

We have brought our Volvo here a few times and have been quite pleased each time. Chris is honest and efficient, but makes sure you understand the services. He provides options rather than upsells. Outside of any automotive repair ability, he had taken in a stray office pet the first time I brought the car in and was going above and beyond to provide the best care— extra points for character. My wife's 2020 XC90 started "pulling" as she called it and the check engine light came on with a "turtle" icon warning that means DO NOT DRIVE! So she drove it home. When she got there I hopped in for a test drive around the block and noticed it was occaisionally miss-firing. I didn't want to make things worse so I had it towed to Reputable Volvo Service. Chris, from Reputable, called on Friday and told me it was missing on #1 cylinder, so they replaced the spark plugs (good idea since it has 80K anyway) and switched the coils on cylinder#1 and #2 to see if it was the coil. It then started missing on both 1 and 2. They then put new coils on 1 and 2 and drove it again and it started missing on 3. He was recommending replacing all the coils when my wife walked by me and I asked her if she had just filled up the car before the car started "pulling". She said as a matter of fact yes, she had. She also added the gas station used was a bit "sketchy". Chris was on the phone during this exchange and I asked him to empty the tank, refill it with premium, put the original coils back on, and test drive it again. Remember, this was Friday. I heard nothing on Monday. On Tuesday at about 2PM I decided to call. Chris commented on my patience and informed me they had replaced all the coils and test drove again and only recorded one misfire from cylinder 4. In his opinion, the injectors could also be going bad, but we should wait and see, as that could get expensive and he wanted to save me money. In fact, he had already given me a $100 discount on the $795.43 bill he had ready for me. I asked him if he had drained and refilled the tank as agreed in our conversation on Friday. He said he totally forgot, but would have it done by the next day at no additional charge. I was in his parking lot an hour later picking up the car. I will never go back. I had the bad gas removed by someone else.

Absolutely love these guys! 100% recommend. I was new to the area. Got a quote for 6 grand worth of repairs from 2 other shops. Called back home to a reputable mechanic who recommended these guys. They did the big job, 7 hrs of labor, and only did what was necessary as I requested compared to others who insisted on new supercharger and turbo. Had me back in action for a quarter of the price!! I’m a big used car guy and believe in good mechanics and I’m telling you these guys are it. Willing to do anything to support a good local business like this. Thanks again guys!

Absolutely the best shop. Chris and his team will explain to you how everything works and what the issue is and they will give you multiple diagnosis before they decide to fix and replaced stuff for you and their prize is really so reasonable about that I probably saved half of the amount that I would have spent at the dealership so picture that on your mind !! More money towards my student loans!! will never turn my head towards the dealership ever again. If you have a Volvo, this will be the place to be for any of your Volvo problems. The best of Volvo doctors for sure.!!! highly highly recommend!!!
