BEST IN ABQ! Gene was a lifesaver, professional and went out of his way to help me when he didn't have to. Gene and sons took care of my door, gas leak after I was wrecked. Real family business, and He even recognized that my car had further damages and helped pay for my window and allowed me to get my car back fast after somebody broke in and stole my items. I’m very grateful I went to him for all the damages because it was the most help I have gotten from any car service.

Absolutely the worst service ever. I went to Gene because he works on my cousins car and thought he would be professional and proficient. Itb has now been 6 months for a 9 day job, he gives me his word it will be done than dissappear until I threaten to report my vehicle stolen, then gives the run around and disappears again. I have now been borrowing cars and paid 2000$ of rental car fees and im a single mother of 5 and stil he has not returned my car. He lied and saidbhe was in network with my insurance. When my insurance called him he said he was waiting on parts but yet told me September 1 he had everything he needed. I am tired of being strung along and just want me vehicle but I don't even trust he is going to fix my car correctly at this point.

DO NOT USE THIS BODY SHOP! Gene has lied, taken over 2 months to get anything done, and now has completely ghosted me. I have no clue what is going on with my car, he told me he took it to Mercedes 2 weeks ago - Mercedes has no record of receiving it. He won't return my calls, I can't locate my car using the locator app, and I'm pretty sure I'm out thousands of dollars, not to mention the rental costs I'm accruing each day this farce continues.

Over the years I have used this shop to do 4 full paint jobs. Gene has always been great, I am at a loss as to what happened this time. We had discussed completing the work before I was going out of town. That gave the shop almost 3 weeks to do the job. It was not done before I left which was not a big deal. I figured giving them an extra 10 days that the car would definitely be done when I got back. Nope, it wasn't. I was told that I could pick it up the next day at lunchtime. I got there and had to stand around and wait for more than 30 minutes while they cleaned the windows, put the license plates back on etc. Part of what I paid for was to refinish the headlights. For whatever reason, after having the car almost a month, that was not done. Lastly, none of the trim trim was not put back on the car. I was told they had to order clips to reattach since the old ones broke when disassembled. I was told they were ordered and would be in the following Monday. Monday, crickets...Tuesday at 10a I called to see if they were in and was told no. Gene was "calling to check now". 3 hours pass with no update so at 2p I call him again. I was told they were not in so they were at Napa looking. (Why they did not go directly to the BMW dealer is beyond me) The rest of the day passes with NO returned call, no update, not a word! At that point I was done. I live 45 minutes from the shop so getting there is not the easiest for me as I need to plan for a ride. I had the car put back together and refinished the headlights elsewhere. I have contacted Gene 2x in the last week requesting a refund for the work I paid for that they did not complete. And as you might have guessed, crickets.... They do good paint and body work but the unnecessary delays and mostly the complete lack of communication has left me no choice to take my future business elsewhere. Sad that it has come to this as I have spent about $8000 painting 4 cars and would have thought I was a good customer who deserved to be treated fairly. I guess I was wrong.....

Retro Paint & Body Inc is the NEW Paint & Body shop that moved to this address but has been around for decades. Retro did a great job on a couple of our family autos. It seems that some of the reviews are for the previous shop that was at this address & not related to Retro. Give Retro Body Shop Inc a try. You'll be pleased.
