I purchased a rebuilt and upgraded alternator for my Jeep two years ago, and it has worked perfectly. They refinished the alternator so well, it looks brand new. Why buy no name parts or rebuilt parts from who-knows-where, when you can have a great local shop rebuild the superior OEM hardware?

Tim did an amazing job rebuilding my 1995 Volvo 940 alternator. It is hard to find people these days that will go above and beyond to repair an oddball part that was only in production for 3 years. I gave 5 stars but never got to the review part, I had the guys at Richer Auto & Truck rebuild my Generator and Starter on my 1933 Dodge. they are very informative and did an amazing job rebuilding the old parts. even went to the extent to get stuff from a Guy in Texas to build a part that they were not able to fix. all for a great price and great work. even painted the parts shinny black to look like new which they were inside and out. use them for all electrical needs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Yes, it's tempting to buy a "brand new" alternator or starter from a local parts store.. Consider the fact that those affordable new units are the lowest quality, imported parts with the cheapest offshore components money can buy. Richer is the kind of place that can take your original rotating electrical parts and get them back to new (or better than new) condition and operation. They honestly surprised me with how quick they got a corvair 12v generator (one of a kind) back in shape for me. The price was on par with the aftermarket replacements too (if they were even available). Better yet, they are local, and they stand behind their products. Great folks who perform great, quality work.

Jim totally took care of me when i just had my alternator built somewhere else he really took the time to explain the process and showed me some opened alternators so I would understand, I really appreciated that! He explained the expectations on how long it will take and held up to it. When it was done I had it installed and was so amazed that it was handling my high powered car audio system with no problem. I live in Fairbanks Alaska now but used to live in the Oceanside/Vista area for many years. I have a 1988 Ford Dump Truck in Fairbanks, the starter quit working and I was have a hard time finding a replacement or even parts. I am friends with Jimmy on Facebook, he reached out for information about the vehicle and starter, he told me he had a replacement one on the shelf. I came down to visit family in November and stopped in to see Jimmy and purchased the starter for my truck. Without that starter my Truck would be yard art.
