Reyes, the owner, is a great mechanic and really cares about getting cars fixed right. I can do most of my auto repairs myself, but if there's ever anything I can't do on my own, I take my vehicles to him. I always feel like he's doing what's best for me, never like he's trying to make a quick buck and get me out the door - the way I've felt at other shops. I live almost 40 miles away, and so far haven't had to have a vehicle towed in. However, if I needed to, I wouldn't hesitate to pay the 40 mile tow bill to have him do the work rather than take it to the shop in my home town. I once heard him tell another customer that he could get their car driveable for a few hundred dollars, but to get everything fixed would cost more than the car was worth and they should probably see what a scrap yard would give them for their car. I didn't think that kind of honesty existed anymore, and that's why I keep going back. The only downside is his waiting area isn't very spacious, so I find something else to do in the area, or find a ride home if needed, and leave my vehicle with him until it's done. But the upside to that is I know I'm not paying for a 500 square foot lounge with two big screen TVs and leather couches.

I feel very confident taking my car to RJ automotive. The guys there are always very honest and fair with me. I've taken my car there for oil changes, transmission, and a general check and I've always been very pleased with the quality and timelines of their work. They are very knowledgeable and helpful and I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

First brought my 97 Nissan Pathfinder there for an oil change because of the great hours. Reyes told me I had a small oil leak, which I was aware of, showed me where it was coming from and how to repair it myself. Have kept going back since. Good guys to work with and are up front and honest. I had a crack in my coolant reservoir that needed to be replaced because I hit a deer. Reyes told me it would be much cheaper for me to buy the reservoir myself on eBay and then bring it back when I had the part. So that's what I did. Saved me $50. They even let me pick up my vehicle on Sunday, while they were closed, because I needed it that day and paid for it Monday. My only knock would be it seems like they could be a little more organized.

Wheel bearing went out at 5:30 pm on I-80 and I didn't make it to RJ's till 6:00 or 6:30. They were then able to get me in and out in little over an hour. Great customer service and quick. Great pricing, I was in a pinch and they could've charged me rush fees and more but they just charged regular and was actually cheaper than Meineke. Great place, highly recommended.

I had a very good experience with RJ Automotive. They have great hours and their prices were very reasonable. When I took my car in to be serviced, they also gave me a list of potential repairs I may need in the future—as well as quotes for those repairs—but at no time did they seem pushy or rude. I would definitely take my car there again.

RJ was extremely helpful when I was concerned about repairs. He took the time to show me what was going on with my car and really explained the details and timing of what all needed to be done. He wasn't pushy or trying to sell me anything - just informing me about my car. He also fixed my tail light free of charge! All in all, RJ earned my trust very quickly, and I would highly recommend his service.

I highly highly recommend RJ‘s automotive!! I bought my car at a Dealer so I go there for oil changes and then they want to fix multiple issues for an unreal cost. I am new to North Liberty so I would normally use my own mechanic which is an hour and a half away but since I found RJ and learned that he is totally trust worthy, and he is very very fair on his prices. I’m not really sure why he is rated 4.7 because he definitely should be a five star business!!!! Thank you RJ & staff! You guys are the best!

Amazing service!! They saved the day and made my week!! I called them a few minutes before closing and set up an appt for the next morning to look at my tire (thinking I had a bad tire valve stem). When I told them how low the pressure on my tire was, they asked me to go in right away to get some air in it, other way it will be a flat by the morning. That right there, it's service you won't get anywhere else. They could've easily not say anything, just see you in the morning, but were willing to help me, even though they were just about to close. When I went in, they figured out it was a loose stem and not a broken one, tightened it for me, put air in all my tires and was able to be on my way. At no charge! Even with not having to replace or fix anything, it was still their time. I appreciate it so so much that they were willing to help me on the spot (and this was my first time here- not a regular customer). All this was after I had already called the IC Toyota dealership and was told by them that by the sound of it, I might have to tow it to them (😒$$$) or have someone come to my house to look at it. I couldn't believe that was the service they were providing after I just had my car there 2 weeks ago, and they didn't catch the problem with the inspection. It is outstanding service like RJ Automotive's, that'll definitely make me think twice before going back to the dealership.

Omg I wish there was more than a five star rating because these people sure deserve it. I accidentally missed my first appointment today and called and apologized and asked if they could still get me in for my needed oil change and they were very willing to take me a half hour later and no problem 😊. These people are so nice and very friendly and kind and accommodating that I will definitely be back. The prices reasonable and didn't mind that I had to bring my little dog with me as well ☺️ thanks so much guy's 🙏 💓
