Romo is my go to shop here in Charlotte. I have gone to them twice, and each time was beyond positive. The first job I needed was a complete steering system replacement. Quoted me quickly and got the work done the next day. Quality craftsmanship as I have gotten a few comments on the new system from anyone who has been under this car. His price for the job was the best in town and he didn’t call me with additional add ons to jack up his profits. (Could be my car didn’t need other work at the time, but I feel like every other shop I go to tries hard to upsell me on work that is not needed) The second was for an engine diagnostic (engine light flashes but goes away). When i went to go pick it up he discounted my diagnostic fee and then stood in the rain to talk to me about his findings. Romo is a classic gentleman who knows his craft. I definitely recommend his shop to anyone needing quality work at affordable prices

I went here due to a check engine light coming on. They did the repair and it came back on again in less than 3 days. I went back and they were not able to resolve the issue.The light was back on. After spending alot of money here I had to get a woman mechanic to fix my car at another shop.

Takes advantage of women! I run a very reputable Charlotte automotive repair facility and sent my niece to them with a P0430 code. We do not weld exhaust pieces here. They replaced the catalytic converter which was the proper repair. They have always done great work for us in the past! Check engine light returned 3 days later with the exact P0430 code. Fuel trims looked great, oxygen sensor voltage was normal and everything else on the vehicle functioned properly. They tried to sell her oxygen sensors even though no O2 codes were present. After I called Romo Auto Care stating that my facility had already diagnosed the vehicle twice before it headed back to them, he told me he welded a hole, reset the light and sent her on her way. Now if there was a hole letting in outside air, there would have been an oxygen sensor fault.... Real technicians know these things.... Check engine light came back on again like I told her it was going to. I checked it out (same code) and sent her back. Now they tell her they replaced bank 1 converter and now it needs bank 2 (lie) then call her back again and said they were wrong and now it needs the other Bank 1 Cat converter... I understand there is a language barrier sometimes with communication but HONESTY and MORALITY are the same in English and Spanish. Do what is right and fix the vehicle for the original concern! It has been to your shop 3 times now! You sir are the reason why this profession has a bad reputation. You can tell your nice woman that runs the counter has a hard time lying to customers because she is no good at it and its horrible you make her do so! How many other people have you done this to? Not everyone is ignorant and maybe you should take a class on how vehicles work and where parts are located. If you do the honorable thing and repair her vehicle properly I will take this review down. Or refund her and we will have it properly repaired elsewhere. Calling the BBB does absolutely nothing. However there are other ways to notify the good people of Charlotte how you conduct your business.

If I could give a zero star I would. STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE BLACK. I went to this shop today to get my Low Tire Pressure sensor installed and the owner told me that all four signals failed and I would need to get them all repaired. He quoted me $450. I knew something wasn’t right so I went to another car shop and they tested all four tire sensors and I was told only one failed (which was the one I went to originally get fixed). He 100% tried to scam me into paying $450 for nothing and I know it is because I’m black and not Hispanic. He refused to install my sensor due to him trying to scam me into buying them from him. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS RACIST. He also sat on FaceTime with some girl the entire interaction. How professional is that. Will never do business with him again. He also charged me $20 to zip tie a loose part of the shield of the car. Just flat out robbery.

They did a nice job on welding a crack on the exhaust pipe which was a lot less than having to purchase a new muffler. They were super busy the morning I came in, thinking I was just going to get an estimate, but they were able to do the repair as well. The price I paid was very reasonable. They seem to always be crazy busy so they must be doing great work.
