A few months ago I took my car to them bc it was rear ended and needed repair. I thought they did a good job because from the outside the car looked great. I noticed recently that my back up sensor was acting funny so I took it to the dealership, they removed the bumper and saw that the the sensor was covered in globs of what they think to be gorilla glue. Instead of them taking the time to fix my vehicle correctly they slapped an obscene amount of glue on it and threw on the bumper. I will never bring my car back to them again under any circumstances

They were friendly and speedy at installing a new outside rear view mirror. We will see over time if the nuts stay tight. The only negative I would have to say is that I didn't receive a phone call when the mirror was painted and ready to install. I had to call them to check on the progress.

We were directed to Scott's by our insurance company and our expectations were exceeded !! The staff was professional - gave us a realistic timeline for repair and beat that by 4 days !! I would recommend them highly. Rob was the person that coordinated our repair. Great job and kudos to all !

Extremely helpful and professional staff. I was told by a different mechanic from another company that I had a cracked engine mount. I took it to Scott's Automotive for a second opinion. They examined the mount and took the time to show and explain to me how the engine mount was not cracked at all. Obviously, this saved me a lot of time and money. Thanks for your honesty.

My husband has been using their service for a long a long time. They probably did all the kinds of repair on my husband's car (my husband own multiple vehicles).Their repairs never lasts and i told my husband that we need to find a new shop. But my husband is so hard headed and keeps going with Scott's Automotive because he said "THEY'RE CHEAP" . Yeah they are cheap and the money you paid them is not even worth it. The last repair they did, they DIDN'T do nothing and charge us $300 they said for labor. The reason why we took the car there is because the dome light won't shut off and it's draining the battery. But they said they tried to fix it for 3hrs but can't figure out the problem. So they told us we can pick up the car anytime. We pick it up and I was so mad because they didn't do their job, charge us $300 then broke the handle on the passenger door and their excuse is because it's brittle but when I checked it, no it's not brittle! Their laziness, forcing to take that side apart without care is the reason why it break. Now our car is more messed up and they don't want to do anything about it...For me, your money is not worth of their service!!!! Don't use their service!!! Everytime my husband want to take his car there,we always fight because I'm againts it....Regret is always at the end.

the whole story and my experience if helps someone: I got hit on the driver's door and needed a repair through State Farm. Scott's was one of the best rated shops in the region so I decided to try. I called them on February 20 and they said they would only look at the car for an estimate on April 3, and then I would leave the car for the repair, and that all the other shops were operating similarly. I decided to wait. On April 3rd, I drove there, parked and went inside. Inside, they have two nice cars exposed, but a lot of disorganized paper work and 'stuff' around the counter, I thought it was odd... There they gave me a paper work to sign and asked for the key... and nothing else ... (silent)... I thought it was odd... in my previous 2 experiences, the guy would go outside, walk through the damage and discuss the procedure, then give me an estimate of time. Then I said: how long do you think the repair is going to take? The guy said: "should be done by the end of the week"... I thought this was very odd, because he would definitely need to order a new door, trims, paint, etc... and it was Easter weekend... I called them on April 10 and they said: "we are waiting on some parts, we should finish by the end of the week." I thought... ok, that now seems more realistic... I called a couple more times in the next days, similar things, parts still missing, etc... it would be fine for me if this was discussed when I dropped the car... long story short, the car was ready on April 20. During pick up it was similar to when I dropped the car... just gave me the paper work and the keys, asked for my credit card for the deductible and nothing else... No going outside to explain the repair done, nothing... Why the 4 star? Because the repair (basically the paint of the new door and assembly) was pretty good! It is a red soul metallic from Mazda and I was a little nervous about differences in color, bad alignment, etc, but it came out great. If all that matters to you is the final product and you don't foresee reasons to discuss anything with them and dont care about the wai, I would say go for it, because they do a great job.

Best mechanic in the state of Florida. They are very honest, experienced, affordable, and I will never take any of my vehicles anywhere else. My family has been going to his shop for about 20 years now and always gets treated with the utmost respect. Bill D.

This place is a total joke! Please BELIEVE EVERY 1-2 stars review! I brought my car here to get fix after a car accident and I realize I was having problems opening up my car door since the accident.. No one touch my car expect for them. So I went back to explain what happened.. the guy look me up on the computer and stated my current insurance even though I said it was a DIFFERENT insurance that took care of the damage. He later ask for documents which I pulled up from my phone and try to show it to him. Which he stated that I don’t know what I was talking about .. until finally he let me say the other insurance’s name. He looked them up on the computer and said they only did a paint over and my car key or the handle was not working properly from erosion. So I left and called the dealership where I purchase the car and the mechanic from the dealership said plain and simple that’s not possible, and on the phone it sounded like he was trying to hold back a laugh from the idiotic statement . What a JOKE! **UPDATED*** I just saw the reply and NO ONE WANTS FREE work from you guys I just wanted what was done wrong to be fix this ‘gentleman’ was so quick to dismiss me and I do have the report where it said you change the door and just because you ‘offer’ doesn’t mean it was in good attention. All I’m saying to anyone who is reading this go at your OWN RISK!

I was required by my insurance company to take my vehicle here. I called twice in a week to get the cost of repairs to be told on the second call that so could get that information from my insurance company (as in other words don’t bother me). Nevermind that when they accepted my car I received a text stating I would get updates as to the repairs and how the repairs were progressing and estimate of when it would be completed. None of that happened. I got a call when my car was finished and what a surprise as I had no idea they even had the parts or an estimated completion date. Instead they act like you are waiting to stop, drop and roll when they call. No consideration for the fact you might be working and can’t drop everything without notice. When I mentioned all of this when picking up my car the two guys behind the counter could care less. They had a very indifferent attitude. Will never go there again. Will drive out of my to go elsewhere.

After needing to replace my previous vehicle, I immediately started experiencing issues with the Jeep Liberty I purchase from a private seller. Specifically the coolant was ‘boiling over’ and trying to boil out of the water pump and reservoir tank (as noted by Jiffy Lube of Brandon). The head gasket was already blown due to major overheating. Took it to Scott’s Automotive for repairs and they recommend replacing the whole engine. Normally, this would be a hefty repair cost for a used vehicle but it had less than 75k miles; Scott, John and Rob assured me they would be able to find a used engine with low mileage plus have a warranty. They quoted me a price that was within my budget and said they would have the maintenance and repairs done with a few weeks. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased that they kept to their word! Quality service, fast turn around, good communication, and affordable cost. They stayed within the quote given to me and I was pleased with the maintenance, the Jeep runs with no issues. They were even kind enough to look over things a second time when the ‘check engine light’ came back on and the A/C wasn’t properly blowing cool air. Thank you so much fellows for all your knowledge and hard work! I highly recommend them if you’re in need of a mechanic shop in the Brandon area.

I really appreciate The honesty and integrity that these guys at the shop have. I have really bad experiences with mechanics prior to me taking my car There I couldn’t even find anybody that will work on it. So I worked on it myself, and it only got it worse often than what it was. These guys fix the entire problem, not Just enough to make it work. Thanks for being honest affair, knowing that if you charge me more than what you did, I would’ve paid it. Thank y’all

My 2013 Challenger had a oak tree limb fall and hit my left front fender very hard. This was my baby which I had bought new in 2013. (Plum Crazy Purple) I have to say the repair job was amazing. They replaced the fender and decals and matched the paint. It looked better than brand new. This was all done in less than a week. The owner cares about your car and wants to make sure you are pleased with the finished product. I rate him a 5 star!

I own a 1980 Firebird Trans Am. It is my happy place. I tried a few other mechanics in the area and they were okay. I had a problem with a power drain issue and was ready to pull my hair out when I happen to drive by Scott's Automotive. Problem solved. As long as I live in this area, and possibly out of this area, I will never go anywhere else. The way they treated me felt like family. A huge thank you to everyone at Scott's Automotive.

I have been using Scott’s automotive for more than 20 years whenever a job has been too much for me to do myself. Rob has always been fair and I have always trusted him to make the right diagnosis and follow through with a quality repair that never fails. We have had two cars in for resprays over the years and they come out with a factory finish. I recommend Scott’s to my family and friends.

This is the place to go for all your service needs. I have been taking my cars to Rob for 20 years. Hes upfront about his prices and he fixes it right the first time. He will only offer you items that he would put in his own vehicle. Its a busy busy place because they service a lot of cars that have been in wrecks but they are honest and caring, things you would not expect from a mechanic place.

I had my new truck on the street and a bicyclist wrecked against it, putting a scratch on two doors. I brought this to get a quote at 4:30pm on Thursday and Rob gave me a great quote and told me to return in the morning. I dropped it off in the morning and it was done within a couple hours, looking like new again, no sign of the scratch. The price was great. The service exceptional. I recommend this business. Thanks @Rob and @Scott's for the great repair work! Below is the after pic. I forgot to take the before pic but scratch was easily seen before, not now.

My car was undergoing repairs at this shop, but they provided terrible service. They damaged my car without informing me and installed parts in the wrong places. When I returned the car, it was dirty and dusty. To make matters worse, they lost a part for my door and failed to address the issue. This repair shop is highly unprofessional and should be avoided.

When some knuckle head hit my classic camaro i was pretty devastated. It had been repainted but still was probably 10 year old paint. Didn't think there was a chance it would match 100%. Read a lot of reviews, and talked to some car groups, the Fishhawk car club on facebook highly recommended Rob & his team at Scott's. On top of fixing the damaged rear bumper, I they replaced the old original cracking front bumper with a new one. All of the paint work, fitment, came out great. The color match was 110% perfect, I dont know how they did it, but can not tell that the front/rear bumpers were painted at a different time than the rest of the car. Very impressed with the work from his team. Have some other small flaws on the car, will be back soon for additional work!
