Criminally underrated judging by my two experiences stopping by this shop cause I was worried about my car. You can tell Phil specifically loves his trade and loves to help out. I went to three other nearby auto shops and the mechanics refused to even talk to me let alone have a quick look under my hood and they weren’t even as busy as you were. Thank you for looking at my car even though you were busy. It took two minutes of your time but you can’t believe how many other mechanics nearby refused to do that. It means a lot that good genuine people like you are out there trying to help and treating regular folks as people and friends and not necessarily paying customers.

I will never bring my car back, and I am advising everyone I can to avoid this shop. I'd been coming here several years up to this point I'm very regular with maintenance (2x yearly) and to be told that we are negligent in any regard is insulting. This is disheartening especially given that every time we ask Phil what else we need to do and is there anything concerning to be looked at while fully prepared to pay and keep the car in tiptop condition. The experience here is incredibly frustrating, my wife will call to itemize a full list of things we wish done to the car on bringing it in, and on drop off they will either not remember the conversation or will leave items previously discussed off the service altogether. I'm willing to repeat the list a few times, and while frustrating as a common experience, it wasn't bad service at least and didn't give me reason to leave this review in the past. Our last service was the worst service to date, and is why I'm leaving this review. Our car needed the front end disassembled but was returned with cracked interior pieces, grease on our steering wheel and center console, wires ripped and left on the floor or hanging from the roof. Just overall very rough. At every phone call we were told different stories, then passed off to different people because we were frustrated about the experience. On pickup, the front person handling keys told my wife several times after she'd asked for keys to stop being emotional and rouned back with why we ruined our car. I'm over it.

Had such a good experience! They found the problem was a disconnected air intake tube and didn't try to upsell me a fuel pump or filter that I thought I would need. Also warned me of my totally unsafe tires- I knew of the problem but don't use the van often, so it wasn't a high priority- got a great deal on the tires, alignment, oil change and battery all done in one day! Phil is great!

Phil, Josh, Jose, Larry and Doug always take care of me, they are straight to the point, don’t sugar coat, and make sure you understand everything they are doing. This has been my go to mechanic shop, and my place I stop for Red Bulls and gas for the last 4 years. Phil is very knowledgeable, and I very much enjoy talking to him. I don’t just stop by to get work done or gas, sometimes I stop by just to ask advice and chat it up with the team there. Even if the prices are slightly higher, the turn around and quality of work beats most in Reno. They will not let you throw money out on a junk car, and I respect that. Who would’ve thought a gas station car shop was better than most others? P.S. if you want to get on their good side, bring them donuts. Doug loves donuts. And he also does an amazing job on any tire work you need!

I never write reviews, but really felt the need after a few experiences with Sierra Car Care. My daughter attends UNR and with me being in a different state it is tough when she has car trouble. Phil and Jose were extremely up front and helpful with me on the phone and with my daughter in person. They understand the importance of her safety and my worries as a parent. Stopped here on a whim because my oil light came on and it was the first place I could find. I went in and asked if they had the motor oil I needed and the gentleman at the front desk was extremely kind! Not only did he help me, but when he discovered he didn’t have any of the oil I needed left for sale, he combine the two open bottles they had in the shop and gave it to me at no charge. This was totally unexpected and not necessary, but so generous and very much appreciated. I didn’t even know this place existed but will definitely keep it in mind for the future!

Been here a few times for various repairs or diagnostics. They do a good job at answering all questions and communicate a lot up front. I did have an instance of being quoted one price, and then it was about 15% more in the end, without permission. I gave them another chance afterwards and was happy about the service, and have been since.

Fantastic experience at Sierra Car Care! Philip started off the interaction with excellent customer service, and I left with a perfectly aligned car at a reasonable price. Highly recommend. Only thing of note is they do not allow waiting at the shop as there is no waiting room. No problem though as 100ft away is a coffee shop and excellent bar and grill.
