This is a review that is long over due. I started taking my car to SOS Auto Repair when this family first open several years ago. I have to honestly say this is the first and only honest mechanic that I have had the pleasure of taking my cars to over the pass few years. My 1997 Toyota RAV4 had an oil leak that another shop kept changing parts and never solved the problem. When I took it to SOS, Art recommended to get the engine steam cleaned, ,drive it for several days and bring it back in so unnecessary work would not be done to figure out where the leak was coming from. I did that and took it back in. The leak was taken care of with minimal cost. Just like I only want to go to a doctor I can trust, I only want to take my car to a mechanic I can trust. I found that in SOS Auto Repair. I have not been disappointed yet. May your business continue to be richly blessed because of your honesty, integrity, and the awesome job you do on vehicles.

I brought my Honda in for a few maintenance items. SOS did a thorough inspection and recommended to put off a couple items that I wanted replaced because they are still in great condition. I do not recommend SOS Auto Repair in San Jose. My van's turn signal issue led me here. They first suggested I order a relay, which I did, but it didn't resolve the problem. After finally taking the van to their shop, they called three days later to say it was actually just a fuse, and the repair would be $280. Understanding the high cost for a fuse, I respectfully asked if they could include a basic oil change (which my van needed) in that $280 charge as a gesture of customer service. The owner, Mr. Arthur, flatly refused and was incredibly rude in the process. Charging $280 for a fuse replacement after giving incorrect initial advice is excessive. Combining that with terrible customer service and a greedy, dismissive attitude from the owner makes this an easy decision: avoid this shop at all costs. They are dishonest and do not value their customers.

Great service, very polite staff. I live a couple of miles away and have seen this shop for ages, and never had to need one until recently. They have a $280 diagnostic fee which apparently is some kind of minimum charge, but they were able to diagnose and clean out a clogged vapor line (no other problems) all covered under the diagnostic fee. Ok by me. Car’s back on the road with more confidence.
