It hurts to give a bad review to a family business but they cannot treat customer in bad faith! Chris is nice at first and providing decent quote, but as they were not able to finish the job, Chris spoke with both side of his mouth saying "he will make me happy and finish the job" but never did, dragging the issue for months and eventually calling me dishonest without ever taking the time to review the issue before we talk. Almaden RV did a decent job on repairing my van and released it with number of quality issues that I notified right away verbally and by email. After bringing back the van couple of times the van still have the issues, some very basic (misaligned cabinets that don't close properly, sharp screw tips popping out of cabinets (because they used the wrong screws: too long!). The results is below par, like an average DYI job. But this is not the issue because I believe any problem can be solved with common sense and good faith. and good faith is missing here! They miss-evaluate the initial estimate and requested additional payment twice to the insurance that they covered. (missing that the cabinetry had to be removed to repair the van body seems basic. Duh!...). The solution was simple : ask for extension to the insurance... Simple. But he is a proud bully, that cannot listen his customer or employee. They cannot re-align the cabinetry that now look crooked. A brand new van conversion now looks like a DYI job! The worse was showing up for an appointment with Chris, and his staff apparently did not informed him and he didn't have time to see me. (Each trip there takes me a half day off work). He asked to bring back the van yet a 4th time and "that they will fix everything and make me happy". I just had to take a appointments with his staff... at the end of the line 8-12 weeks later. To later tell me that it was too late I waited too long after release and the job was finished and they would not work on it anymore. It's impossible to have a constructive discussion with Chris as he will always find an excuse, contradict himself, and totally ignore any previous discussion do not seems to car about the technical issue itself. He declined to communicate his quality chart and his mediation body, so we are going to small court. What a waste of time!

I had upgraded my dual 12v batteries to 4 deep cell 6v batteries. I was having electrical issues and the retailer thought there was a discharge problem with the generator. I had no idea what to do but was referred to Almaden RV. The owner met me and had every opportunity to sell me some products or services (and I would have just went with it) and make a quick buck but instead showed me that there are still honest companies out there offering honest service. My issue was a switch wasn’t flipped! He wouldn’t take my money for a few minutes of his time but I instead because I valued the years and years of his experience. For future work I will simply drop it off to them knowing I will have nothing to worry about. I HIGHLY recommend Almaden RV!

Larry and David fixed our gas fridge issue super fast and we were just a drive up job giving them no warning of our arrival. While they were doing it they answered a barrage of questions from me that will certainly help with decision making down the line. I really appreciated the way they offered information and explanations without prompting. We were just passing through but I would definitely recommend them and would use them again if I was local. It's always a pleasant surprise to find service like this.

We only needed a part. They didn't have it but he was so helpful with where we could get it. He also helped with another question. Super nice.

I went in on a whim because the electric cord that goes from the RV to the house went out. It was near the end of day, and I was ELATED that they had the exact two parts I needed to get the RV up and running again. The young man was very knowledgeable, polite, and kind. I would most definitely recommend them for all your RV needs. Good people who would appreciate your business, no doubt about it!

I ended up not doing work with them. But that is because they were very honest in helping me make my decision to potentially upgrade rather than do the fix. Basically, I would refer to them because they were honest and didn't upsell or bait and switch like people can be tempted to do. Thank you guys!

I have had to wait to cool off before even attempting a fair review. I can honestly say this was the worst and most disappointing service or repair experience of my life. I was quoted prices and then charged more than quotes. I was told 3 days to do inspection and after 5 days I called to be told the tech had the flu. “I guess I’ll get another tech to start today” I was told after inspection I could prioritize the work I wanted done, but before even getting the needed list of possible repairs they had taken it upon them selves to begin installation and repairing items. (This is illegal without prior authorization) The tech broke the antenna handle and they never fixed or replaced it. We had specifically asked to have our slide seals looked at and repaired which not only did they not do, but when it rained two weeks later we were flooded from bad seal on that slide. I could honestly go on and on. In addition Chris the owner who was very friendly while telling me lie after lie, was very condescending to me calling me honey and sweetheart. The final insult? We get all the way home 1 1/2 hour drive to discover they had taken our power cord out and never replaced it. No power. When I called him in the morning to tell him that he said , “no, I don’t think so. There are a couple laying out here you can come see if one of them is yours if you want” After being delayed two weeks, not doing a good job at all, being treated badly and paying a FORTUNE for the privilege, they could not bother to return our own power cord to us. That was a 3 hour round trip to get it back. So please please do yourself a favor and find another place to go.

We were on the road heading home (projected through 115 degree Phoenix) and had electrical issues that threatened to leave us with no power with 2 kids and 3 dogs. They worked with us (and our mobile RV tech) and ordered a part ahead of our arrival and got the part swapped out as we passed through town. They were so kind and patient every time we called. Even the technician that passed us in the parking lot cheerfully greeted us and helped us. Integrity showed through their actions rather than just words.

I took my travel trailer to this shop based on there really good reviews and professionalism. The repair was to fix the corrugated siding on the trailer because the wind on the highway pushed it out. The repair meant taking off both the front trim moldings and the front door and window. When they said it was done everything was put back without any sealant and the trim had no sealant and not even and had huge gaps. They said they would make the repairs right. They left the floor dirty from there repairs and there was glass on the floor and the window blind was damaged.Till this day it’s nothing is fixed right and the door leaks and as a huge gap at the bottom. Beware of taking your rv here and there work. Very unprofessional work

As a customer I felt taken advantage of and cheated. I took my Rv to Almaden Rv because my water tank wasn’t filling up. I assumed it was a fill line that came loose. When I dropped it off I was told it would be around a $500 job. The tank was dropped and a cracked line was replaced. Then they noticed that my tank levels weren’t reading correctly. I have always had a problem with this and thought it would be okay for them to try to fix it. My van is still under warranty and the firefly system which controls everything has always been a problem. I was hoping that would be the problem and we could get that replaced under warranty. After a few weeks of diagnosing the problem they told me it was just the sensor and they could get me a new one for $80 plus a few hours of labor. I didn’t really care if the tank sensors worked but thought they took the time to figure it out I might as well pay them. This was a mistake. The few hundred more job turned in to $1k additional making my bill $1600 for essentially a new water fill line. Here is the kicker. I picked up the van and I assumed everything was done. Took it home and a few weeks later was preparing for a trip when I realized the water didn’t work! I also noticed that the water tank was loose and moving around, there were trim pieces sitting in a pile from a panel that they had taken off, some spare parts I had in the utility cabinet were removed and never put back, and generally unfinished work. I took the van back to them after the trip to get the tank put back the way it was and to figure out why I wasn’t getting water to the coach. I assumed it was a valve that they forgot to turn back on. When I dropped it off I turned the pump on. We could hear it working but no water. After a while of not figuring it out they came to the conclusion that my water pump was intermittently working. They called me and told me this was the issue and replaced the pump. I was under the assumption they would okay any work provided and was taking the van back for them to fix the issues they created. I ended up with another $700 bill. So a broken water fill line that was going to be a $500 job turned in to a $2300 bill. I feel taken advantage of and won’t be back which is a shame. I want to like and support this place but it would be insane to put myself in this situation again.

Almaden RV is the ONLY place I will take my travel van! They are professional and courteous, never "up selling" or taking advantage of me because I am an "old lady". In fact, they often suggest alternatives and ways I can save. MY "new to me" 1995 van works like new.

If you’re looking for any type of body work I highly suggest you look elsewhere. It’s the quality you would expect from a toddler drawing within the lines. The quality and workmanship was terrible. Even when attempting to fix their shoddy job it was as expected just slightly less bad than their first attempt. They are probably fine if you want a minor fix. Would avoid if you truly care about a high quality job.

Fortunately it's been awhile since i had to bring my RV in for service at Almaden RV. I would like to reiterate what great service Chris and his whole team did, keeping me updated. All my service requests were address and fixed. I would also like to add. My backup camera never did work properly. I was prepared to be told I needed a new camera. That wasn't the case. All it needed was to be re-programed, saving me hundreds of dollars. This just adds to the integrity of Almaden RV service. Thank you for another great experience!

We don’t expect white-glove service from an RV repair shop, all we care about is that the job is done correctly and on time. Unfortunately, this shop failed at both, and the consequences could have been deadly. We brought in our mobile surgery RV to have the air conditioning system repaired. They told us to rush the vehicle there so they could get started right away. We made it clear from day one that we needed the RV on Mondays for our clinic days, and they acknowledged and agreed to that timeline. We were told the AC would be fixed in a single day, that the part was on its way and would arrive promptly. Instead, the part was delayed with no updates, and the repair dragged on with no clear timeline. In the meantime, we also asked them to check the brakes and suspension. The RV was left sitting there, again, nothing was done. We had to bring it back multiple times, each time hoping for progress, but left with no answers and no work completed. And then the worst part: when we finally got the RV back, not only was the rooftop AC unit still broken, but it had been left completely unsecured, something we didn’t discover until after we had driven in on the freeway multiple times and notice it shifted. Had it fallen, it could have caused a serious accident or killed someone. They also left exposed live wires in the cabin. Because we perform surgery in this van and carry oxygen onboard, this created a massive fire risk. It was more than just poor service — it was negligence. Yes, we should have double-checked their work. But is it unreasonable to expect that when a vehicle is returned to us by a professional repair shop, it’s at least safe to drive? When we went back to the shop to address our concerns, the owner, Chris, showed no remorse and inconvenienced by us declining further service. He didn’t apologize or acknowledge the risks we had been exposed to. Instead, he was bothered that we no longer trusted them to continue the work. He made sure to charge us for the time they spent diagnosing the RV, despite delivering it in an unsafe condition and not completing any of the work we originally requested. We can overlook poor customer service. But we cannot overlook negligence, especially when lives are on the line. We strongly urge anyone, particularly those using their RVs for professional or medical purposes, to think twice before trusting this shop with your vehicle.

HORRIBLE SHOP. LEFT MY RV EXPOSED TO WATER INTRUSION. They lied to me. Left the molding off the front cap and when I emailed about it, I was told to bad and find somewhere else to get it fixed. The caulking up and down both side of the front cap was not installed correctly and huge gaps where water was getting in, to cause water damage down the road. You think the RV manufacturer are bad??? WAIT TILL YOU SEE THE REPAIRS THIS JOKE OF A SHOP DOES. Had to take my RV to another shop to get finished and fixed. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Don't use them. I have picture and screenshots of all shoty workmenship and emails. Please reach out to me for proof.

Chris has always been good to us and our coach. They stand behind all there work. On the rare occasion you have any issues with work they have completed they are quick to get you back in and corrected. This is one of the reasons we continue to patronize there business
