Been there 2 times to get work done and both times I left happy with the work. First time the total bill was actually lower than initial quote.

I was able to take my car early, and I was kept in the loop about the details of my car's issues as soon as they were identified. I have gotten my vehicle back, and it is working properly.

Strickland's Automotive place is a good place to go to get your vehicle fixed if your having car or truck problems. They prices are good and there honest & friendly people that won't charge you for something that's not wrong with your car like some other places that are out there. The only down part about the place is that most of the time there pretty busy with other people's car's. But if they can squeeze your car in to get looked at they definitely will. So I give this place 2 thumbs up 👍👍

2011 Kia Soul--98K--I initially was trying to diagnose vibration issue (04/2024) on highway and replaced both cv axles as I was doing most of front end already. I even tried different wheels with same bolt pattern on the rear from a Honda to try and isolate issues with tires. I thought replacements might tell me if the axle had anything to do with vibration. It was clear the rims and tires were actual problem since nothing changed. I had found out today (06/19/25) that my CV Axle Nut was torqued "improperly", causing the axle to make a knocking sound when turning. I did purchase the axles to be installed from rockauto and their quality is questionable given one of them was too short (popping out of tranny on turns) and had to be replaced within 600 miles at the trans shop. I put on about 4500 miles since the work was done on the "good" side. However, that part was not torqued properly and came loose causing some knocking. I did take the car back after the work was done initially at Stricklands to have them check it for knocking sound. ****Strickland told me it was the transmission and the work they did was "tight". I kinda gave up at that point. I drove it despite the knock, since I didn't have the money to replace it again. It didn't make that noise before the axles were replaced, so I thought it had something to do with them.**** The short axle had to be replaced and was leaking transmission fluid, so I could have lost the transmission due to defective part from rockauto (trakmotive) who would not even give me refund for it. I do think that Strickland is very good at brakes, bearings, engines, and suspension for the most part. Maybe they did torque both axles correctly but their wrench was out of spec. or the part had something to do with it. Who knows? They do let you buy your own parts, which on the surface is good. However, the warranty is on you if part fails. It is honestly cheaper to source your own parts. Either way, for most people's needs they can repair things well. I just wonder sometimes... I am now paying more at another shop, since they identified the problems that were missed right away. I can also recommend SS Tire in Barberton for alignment, tires, and wheel/vibration problems. I ultimately had road force balancing done on my tires and that helped significantly and replaced one of the rims that I got from pullapart.

Highly recommend going to this place. Or at least checking out this place first before anywhere else. Tim is a cool guy. Easy to talk to, really helpful & worked with my warranty which was great for me. They replaced my A/C compressor which would normally cost $1300.00 but my warranty covered it but with only a $50 deductible. Tim said it was a 4hr job but after about 6 hrs he calls me to say that it was gonna take longer than he thought and to come get it tomorrow. Which was totally fine with me. (After all.. I'm only paying $50 for a $1300.00 job) Come to find out the next day that he had stayed late working til 8:30pm that night so I can get it earlier around noon the next day considering it was a Friday and I would need it for the weekend. That was cool of him. Total came out to be somewhere around $66. It was all gravy. I hope your experience is as good as mine. So go ahead give these guys a try.

At first my close friend recommended them to me. The staff is very nice and although I don't know much about cars, I feel I can trust them. That's super important to me. They've been accommodating to me by helping me with rides so I don't have to sit and wait at the shop when my car gets worked on. They always call before costing me money to get my ok to do the work. Recently my friend was having car issues where every place she tried, couldn't or cost too high. But I told her to try Strickland's and they were able to help her without bankrupting a single mom of 3.

My mom had an appointment to for them to look at her car "ETC" electronic throttle control.. at first when she called to explain what's going on and she told the person the lightning bolt came on in her car while driving. They didn't even know what that was... Well my mom's appointment rolled around.. took her car here and they told her they can't run a scan because the check engine light isn't on.. she was pissed.. so I went to Advance auto part.. bought a OBD2 scanner.. and the Codes came up (p2118) and (p2110), which is The ETC (Electronic Throttle Control) which exactly what she told them was wrong and the whole reason she took her car in!! Needless to say your car practically needs to be broken down for them to even give you the time or day!! So needless to say don't even bother to go here if your check engine light isn't on.
