New owner at this business I called and made an appoint. 2 wks out. I expressed that I had purchased the ac at this location. And drive in from orange county because of the great service 2yrs ago. But him being a new owner and it being 2 yrs and 2 days. I expected to pay for all services . But figured it just needed a service cleaning. . Realizing he didn't give a time on the date we agreed I had called him again, we agreed I would be there very early first come first serve. He said. I did call him a 3rd time to add a step moter that I had that needed install. 3 times. I spoke with this man. I arrived early at 7am. To be first in que. Hoping. As I signed in I examined that I drive from orange county because of the great service I had received before from Klint. (Old owner.) Well all of sudden it was going to take All Day. No first come first serve. No waiting room. He was very rude. I had been waiting for almost a month to come here. I thought maybe 2 hours. I could go do my laundry next door. The new owner is RUDE, DISREPECTFUL! was Yelling at me. WTH. Did not care that he had told me first come first serve. All of sudden he said that he would Never say that! And you must drop off and LEAVE & wait until end of day to pick up. Again no waiting room. I don't know anyone in that area. I am disabled. He had me in tears. And last word. To me was that there would be no warrenty on the ac I bought there 2 yrs. Ago. I was so upset. I told him I told you on the phone when talked 3 times. I understood that, did not expect anything free. Except an honest respectful gentleman. I spoke with 3 times. And wasted my time, gas. This used to be a good spot for supplies, service. He must be working alone. Or have hard time keeping employees see has zero people skills. Customer service. Sir goes a very long way. Never raise your voice to customers, let alone single disabled woman. I found another service in palm desert area and also had some other work done. Your loss SIR. OF possible 3g. HE said he was THE OWNER. I DIDN'T CARE WHAT HIS NAME IS. YOU ARE RUDE SIR. Maybe you enjoy yelling at woman.

Had my roof “fixed”, charged $600 . Looked awful but thought it might work still. Drove 60 miles, parked. Roof had lifted up again and the whole side caulking was split and attached to nothing. Ac condensation leaking into trailer. Couldn’t be more angry

We are most grateful to Sunbird RV Supplies & Services of Indio, CA. As full-time RVers, we were in the desert awaiting the Spring bloom when we required an emergency service to our generator. Our 1999 Rexhall Aerbus needed an emergency servicing to continue our time in the desert. Sunbird took us in on an extremely short notice, despite having already scheduled another, longstanding RV appointment. Nevertheless, they quickly and competently diagnosed and repaired so that our pursuit of the desert bloom stayed alive. We had a refrigerator quit working while in idyllwild. Called at least 10 places and finally got shad at sunbird rv service. He told us to come in so we came down the mountain he diagnosed a faulty board ordered one and the next day installed it and we were back on our journey. Nice guys great work thank you!!

The worst experience. Went in to have my slides adjusted, they were scraping the floor, and my air conditioner was dripping inside. After they worked on my vehicle, now my slides won't close completely... At least a one inch gap on the outside... And they still scraped the floor... My air conditioner still drips on the inside. Waste of time and money

Shad, who is the new owner, was fabulous to work with. I scheduled an appointment to have the electric brakes and drums replaced on my single axle trailer. The day before I took it in, my air conditioner also stopped working so I asked him to take a look at that too. When I described what it was doing and showed him pictures from my phone app where it was drawing 60+ amps when the compressor tried to kick in he said there was a good chance the compressor was seized and it was going to need a new AC, but they'd go through it and see if there could be anything else. When I went to pick it up he had great news for me, it was only 2 capacitors that had gone bad. He could have sold me a new AC and I would have never doubted it, but his honesty in only replacing the capacitors was so impressive that he definitely has all my future business. That's the kind of guy I want to do business with and you should too!

Very nice and knowlegable. Needed a very unique part for my broken awning, the sweet and helpful lady on the phone said, "I think we have one of those but let me get your phone number and I'll call you back in about five minutes. I gave her my number and she called me back in about three minutes saying, "We have one of those in stock." I was shocked. I was at the store within the hour and the part was waiting for me at the front counter. Highly recommended if even to just see the wonderful smile on the lovely lady at the front counter.

I went there looking for some propane pigtail replacements as the new ones I ordered from somewhere else for the wrong size. Instead of selling me those they offered me brass adapters for so much less money. He could have easily sold me a higher priced items. I really appreciate the help and honesty.

Stopped as my gfi plug in the bathroom was acting up and controlled the exterior plugs as well as some counter outlets. Spoke with Joe, he helped diagnosing the issue and identified two culprits. When he realized he did not have the exact black wall mounted plug I needed he gave me the name and location of an electrical distributor in the area. I found what I needed and would have been lost without him

I can see that Sunbird RV has a fairly good Google rating and I'm happy to hear that people have had an overall good experience with them. I'm just sharing my own personal experience with the owner and why I would recommend going elsewhere for any type of service work. I brought my class B Winnebago into Sunrise RV in late 2023 as I was having issues with my refrigerator operating on propane. I found the owner to be very challenging to communicate with as it seemed that he was more concerned with being right than he was with actually trying to help me fix this issue. I was quoted "at least $500" to remove my fridge to be able to troubleshoot it and when I corrected him on a few occasions in regards to the refrigerator operation he became very flustered and annoyed. His tone quickly changed to "your refrigerator uses old technology and therefore needs to be replaced". This would likely cost a few thousand dollars and seemed unnecessary as the refrigerator was still working just fine on shore power and battery and the problem was only occuring when running on propane. We left feeling discouraged but thankfully stuck with our plan of further assessing the propane system while camping at the KOA in Palm Springs. We found that the propane regulator was in need of replacement and by chance drove to Blair Station RV which was less than 5 minutes down the road. This is where we should have gone in the first place. The owner was incredibly helpful and resourceful in helping to identify the propane regulator and thermocouple as being the cause of the issue. For less than $200 our refrigerator was fixed. Personally I like dealing with people that want to help get you back on the road as soon as possible opposed to trying to tell you that you're wrong and that you need to spend heaps of money replacing appliances only because they don't know how to fix them.

What a great experience I had at Sunbird. After getting the run around from the dealer I bought my 2 year old toy hauler I figured I would give the guy 5 minutes away from home my business. Man was I happy I did so not only were they professional and the communication was great but they got everything fixed and what needed to be ordered I’m just a few hours and saved me from getting hosed from the dealership. He was very fair and quick you have a customer for life now and in my circle we have quite a few trailers!! You guys are awesome thank you again

I do not know if the person at the front desk is the owner or what but he's rude and will cut you off mid sentence over and over. It almost seemed irritated we were there after we had been send there to get a key by Ace down the street. I wouldn't recommend at all for the customer service.

These guys said over the phone that I could unhook my cabover for them to work on my generator and AC for the day. Set an appointment for 830am. When I got there and they saw it was a 30+ years old RV and I'm a young, blue collar, full timer, the owner started coming up with excuses, suddenly it was too time consuming or "unsafe" with the wind for it to be unhooked, even though we clearly discussed it on the phone the day before. I even offered to just wait in my truck while they did the work. But that was impossible for some reason. No solutions, only excuses from the owner. Didn't stop his full team from working on the 50 ft, $100k 5th wheel i pulled in next to though. Those are the only customers alot of these RV places seem to care about. The guy was rude from the get go. Saying he would be lying to his other customers if he wasted any more time with me, even though i had set an appointment just like them. They will butter you up and treat you like a prince if ur made of money, but I won't trust a place like this and neither should you. Don't even waste your time, like I did this morning. - US Army Veteran and full time RV'er 5+yrs.

I called Sunbird RV Supplies and Services to inquire about a coating for a coating for my aluminum roof. Shad explained the reason for the coating and explained it does not prevent water leaks. Rather it is used to decrease the temperature inside the unit. Since I only winter in Sky Valley, temperature is not an issue. When I asked him if he thought this product would be necessary for my RV, Shad replied he did not think so. It is not often in these times that you find someone as honest as Shad. He could easily have said it was necessary and I would have paid for unnecessary service. For this reason, I STRONGLY recommend this business and Shad for their honesty and integrity. As a senior citizen on a fired budget, I cannot thank Shad enough for his integrity. Well done Shad!!
