I lost my registration so I went to get a safety check so I could get a new registration. The dude threatened to call the cops on me because I didn’t have my registration. He seemed completely unhinged. I left.

I was referred here from one of the guys at Matson for safety check. Dean is pretty straightforward on what he needs for the safety check. Also, heads up he is not available from 11am to 12pm during normal business hours. Best to plan your trip here accordingly. Overall, the safety was smooth and quick.

BEST SAFETY CHECK ON ISLAND!! If you’re Coast Guard working on Sand Island, this is the place to go. It’s right outside base. Mr. Tagami is fast and efficient; just come before his lunch break at 10:30am or after at 12pm. He seems stoic, but he’s kind and humorous. I will be back next year!

Absolute WORST business to try to get a safety check from!!!! My daughter bought a used vehicle from Aloha Auto Depot and was told to go to Tagami Auto Service to get her safety check done. Aloha Auto Depot paid Tagami Auto Service to issue my daughter's safety check when Aloha Auto Depot received the license plates in. My daughter was given the license plates and registration card. She went to Tagami Auto Service THREE times and was turned away ALL THREE TIMES!! She was told they didn't have time for her. Tagami Auto Service is THE ABSOLUTE WORST business!!!!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited in line for over an hour just for them to let someone else cut in front of me and others. I just bought my truck and wasn’t sure which papers to show (because I had the original registration as well as a temporary one). I came to this shop because the dealership recommended them for my safety since I just picked up my license plates. The guy doing the inspection was so rude and impatient with me. Never coming here again
