Diagnostics: Did not inspect or give suggestions or anything being installed. If they did, they would've known both CATs are in working order. Best places diagnose for free since Diagnosis help both the customer and the shop from unnecessary repairs Price: 90/Hour CHARGED DOUBLE and did half the job. All places for this exact service (install a bolt on CAT and hold onto the old one to reinstall the following day charged on average $125. The most was 300 and 200 the least for both installations. This Place only did half the job and charged double the price at 440 (220 each) did not come back for the second test obvious reasons. Reliability/Following instructions : Did not follow instructions and did Half the job I review places and I was looking for a new place to review. Done this same test with multiple places from shamburg to Another place at 43rd in chicago to a place by Cicero. I have an Rx8 so only select few can handle complex instructions. So I do tests to see if a place can qualify for the more complex stuff. To see if they can handle the more complex instructions, needed for Later in the future. I start with a simple install a piece i bring and hold onto the old piece for reinstalling it the following day. Explained it about 3 times to one mechanic then 5 times to the main guy there. Even before i left i made sure you do know what The job is. He said yes. Estimate was agreed upon for 220 for both times so 110 sounded about right. Place seems to have high reviews which I don't understand how. (This Place Teloloapan) did not understand the directions and charged double the amount for just a bolt on ( not even a welded) and charged 220 and did half the job. When asked to clarify they said they don't do that even tho every other place does so and all kept the final price. This Telo place even makes you sign a form before even the installation with no amount or description of the service so that's a big no for any customer reading this. Always make sure if a place gives u to sign something. That it's clearly stated what the service will be for the Estimate and the amount. They Also messed up the back seat when he took out the CAT as well as did not ask to put it back in the car when asked to get the piece back. As well as surprised that i needed back in the first place (which was part of the instructions in the first place) Reminder shamburg had it inside the car the second time and no scratches whatsoever. For examples : Shamburg place estimate was 200(100 each service) [most places estimate about 150 for a bolt on with an overall average of 125 for most] finished within an hour and understood the instructions as well as gave suggestions and Held onto the part as asked and returned them. So that one so far got a 5/5 Second place on Cermak Charged 300 and didn't even return the catalytic converter which cost tons since I acted like I couldn't carry it myself in case customers that can't do so would do it for them. That one got a 1 star and clearly understand why they are closed down now. Same as When I went to pepboys and they charged for a service that they didn't do. ( I marked the parts to make sure they changed them and it was still marked yet the invoice said it did) On to the next place to review overall failing to Follow instructions as well as charging 1.75% more (which is almost double the price of most places) and no customer service like a Discount for not following instructions and above all not following instructions could mess something up and then not become accountable for it Examples of those that done so. One messed up one of the CATs for failing to disconnect/Reconnect a fuse. As well as the one that didn't return the part. ALL such Could cost you a ton more. Especially since some parts cost more than the labor and estimate the shops just did the service and they take no accountability for such things. If someone is actually trying to get their emissions test like i acted like i was Imagine what they have to deal with now having to get a new CAT or Paying double the price of the Estimate

recently went in to get new wheel bearings installed. had already bought the part and asked them if they could just install it. they gave me a price for the work which was reasonable. i asked if they could check on some other details my car needed and they said they would take a look. after a few hours they told me it was ready to pick up and walked/showed me all the work they did. they didn't charge me for the small details they fixed and only charged me for the original repair that we agreed on. super friendly and helpful. will work with you to get al your needs meet. would definitely recommend as a local auto shop.

I dropped my car off recently for an oil change and to check out my brakes since they’ve been feeling a little off. The shop was nice and tidy, and Ruben did an excellent job taking care of my car as well as explaining what needed to be done in regard to my brakes. No pressure, no sneaky pricing, best Teloloapan Auto Shop in the city!! (PS it’s the one on Rockwell, to be clear)
