I brought in my 98 SN95 because I had a coolant leak and it looked pretty bad from the outside looking in, but Ray and Kyle at The Garage said no problem just bring it on by they ran a diagnostic and found the Bain of my problems and a solution. Disappointed Longtime Customer - Overpriced and Untrustworthy Practices I've been a loyal customer for years, but I feel scammed. We replaced our xenon headlights 28 months ago (after 9 years of use), and now one has already burned out. When I returned to inquire, I was told the warranty on parts and labor is only 24 months. They also said it was working but just dimmer or a different color now but it was out when we drove there and went out again after we picked it up; obviously there's an issue. Out of curiosity, I researched the brand of bulbs they used and discovered they marked them up by ~550%! They chose a cheap option and charged us $491 to replace two bulbs that cost about $50 total. At that price, we assumed we were paying for high-quality, long-lasting bulbs--not so. This experience also made us rethink a prior estimate (years ago) for brake work they said was urgent. We held off back then, and now I'm glad we did because I no longer trust their recommendations. Save yourself the frustration and money. Look elsewhere for honest, transparent service.

I brought in my 2004 Honda for a tune up and had noticed that my clutch was slipping. I'm always a bit nervous bringing in my manual to a new mechanic, but Ray and Kyle made me feel very comfortable right away. Their notifications system kept me up to date and made reviewing and approving repairs super easy and they were very responsive to any additional questions I had. The new clutch is running like a dream and I'll definitely head back for any future repairs and be sending friends there for reliable and trustworthy work.

In the 3 years I’ve lived in SF I hadn’t needed to take in my 2017 jeep to get work done, so when I had a service light for my transmission pop up I was not stoked that I was going to have to find a good mechanic that I trusted. I brought it to The Garage and was extremely pleased with the service, efficiency, and price. They did a great job and were very communicative throughout the process. I liked that you could pay for everything online and see the updates in real time. I also felt that the price was reasonable, which is hard to find these days. If you are struggling to find a good mechanic in the city that you can depend on and trust, I’d highly recommend!

Came to The Garage on a referral and had a great experience. Scheduling online for maintenance or other work was very easy and convenient. Drop off was smooth. I went first thing Monday morning and there was no wait. Check in was quick and the staff were very friendly. A couple hours after drop-off I received an inspection report with all the inspection and testing details, along with photos. The report is color coded red yellow green to show urgency. If there is recommended service, the price is listed and you can opt to have them complete the work or wait. When the service was done I got another alert with final work order and payment request. I paid in advance and when I picked came back for the car I was in and out in a couple minutes. Overall very happy with The Garage and the service there.

I’ve been going to The Garage for years and generally trusted their work, but my most recent experience left me disappointed. I brought in my 2019 Acura TLX because two warning lights came on: “Emissions System Problem” and “Electric Parking Brake Problem.” They charged me over $230 for a diagnostic check, and I was surprised to learn that this fee isn’t applied toward the repair if you choose to move forward. Their recommendation was to replace the part connecting the gas tank to the cap. The quoted price for the part alone was about $450, whereas I found the same part online for around $225 (plus labor). The overall estimate for repair was close to $1,000. Before agreeing, I got a second opinion from another mechanic, who simply suggested resetting the warning lights first. That’s what I did, and it cost about $225 total. Two weeks later, I’m still driving with no issues and the lights never returned. When I asked The Garage why both lights would appear at once, they said it’s common for multiple warnings to come on to prevent driving—but several mechanics I spoke with afterward told me they had never heard of that explanation. It left me feeling like The Garage was recommending a costly repair without fully confirming the root cause. This is disappointing, especially since I’ve trusted them for years. I hope this was just an isolated experience, but it’s worth noting for anyone considering service here.

Brought in my Ford Transit to these guys to run some diagnostics. They did a thorough exam on the van and followed up with a list of items that were fine and ones that needed repaired. They even provided pictures and explanations. They are thorough, quick, offer quality service, and fair in price. I even send my wife in there solo and trust them without a doubt. Great garage.
