We had them to put a new transmission in my daughter's car. They said it would be finished in a week, but it was about a month, or a little over. When we got the car back, it was smoking & leaking. Additionally, one of our brand new headlamps looked old, air & dash gouges weren't working either. They said that wasn't their problem, but it was fine when it went in the shop. They towed the car back to their shop to fix leak. They said they fixed the leak, but it needed a cv axle & we owed 250. We had already paid them 3,400. They gave us 30 days to pay. As soon as we got car back, smoking & leaking again. They said it needed to be put in a new case. Got it back,smoking & leaking again. They said they fixed it again & it needed a power steering line. Got car back, smoking & leaking again. They said it was finally fixed, but same thing AGAIN. We got the car back, smoking & leaking AGAIN. They have had the car in their shop for 3 months, while my daughter has only been able to drive it home after she gets it from them, and park it. I told Josh I felt like we should be able to take it to another shop & they pay the bill because obviously they couldn't fix it, or we should get a refund. He said we still owed him the 250. I said you haven't fixed the car & we already paid 3,400, so I'm not paying anything else. My daughter was promised they would be finished in a week & here it is over 3 months without a drivable car. My daughter could only get a ride to work for about 2 weeks, so she lost her job. This has been a nightmare. Now, Tiger Transmission won't answer the phone. They should make this right. They got their $. They were on vacation last week, but my daughter can't even drive to the grocery store. I see how they treat their customers. Thanks Tiger Transmission for a terrible job.

Fantastic place! They just put a new transmission in my mustang and it works great! Totally recommend them. It took a while but that's only because they put more care and dedication into fixing it than anyone else. Reasonable prices, and very lovely friendly people too. I would use their services again.

They had my car for 2 months and never even test drove it, the lied and told me they changed a part but they never did. I finally said screw it and went and got my car to find out my car was sooo dead from just sitting there (on the side of the road unlocked) that we had to charge my battery for 10 minutes just to get it to turn over. They wanted to charge me $900 just to pull the trans out and look at it. That’s not doing ANYTHING. To fix it. That’s just labor to pull it out. They never answered their phone they never called me when they said they would. Even went up there with my grandmother after them having it for 5 weeks , he said he’d order the part I asked about then he said he put it in the car and it didn’t fix the problem. All lies . The car was never worked on

I absolutely do NOT recommend Tiger Transmission and Autocare in Opelika. I’m writing this review to hopefully save someone else from the terrible experience that I had. I brought my vehicle to Tiger Transmission because of issues with my transmission shuddering/shaking during takeoff and driving uphill. After they diagnosed the issue, they called and informed us that it required a transmission rebuild. We gave them the go-ahead on the rebuild, and then added on a 3-year warranty ($4,600). When I picked up my “fixed” car, the issue was still there, along with a new additional issue. I had to bring my vehicle back to them two more times, and the issues with my transmission were never fixed. Finally, I spoke with the manager, Josh (in person), and the owner, Elizabeth Bledsoe (over the phone), and asked for a refund. The owner became hostile and yelled at me over the phone. She said I would absolutely not receive a refund from them, and then hung up on me. All this to say, I recommend taking your vehicle to any shop except Tiger Transmission and Autocare. They were not capable of fixing my vehicle, they would not refund the “service” they “provided,” they lacked communication skills, and the owner is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever had the displeasure of speaking on the phone with. My car is still shuddering/shaking, and now when I put it in park I get a warning that says it is not in park (which is a brand new issue). This has been stressful to say the least- please save yourself from a similar experience.

I took my car to the dealership to be told I need a new transmission they quoted me 7400.00 dollars that’s a new car. Someone told me to take it to Tiger Transmission and I sure am glad I did there was nothing wrong with transmission at all. All it needed was fluid thank god for honest people.

As a single college student, I came to Tiger Transmission after being referred by my warranty company, Transtar. I initially went on a Saturday, only to find the shop closed—despite the posted hours saying otherwise. When I returned, I waited over three hours just for a basic diagnostic. I followed up with them daily, only to be pushed back 11 days and then given information that completely contradicted what Transtar had told me. Throughout this time, I found them to be extremely unhelpful and not customer-service oriented. While the staff seemed kind on the surface, their actions didn’t align—they never followed through and ultimately refused to even email my warranty company, asking me to do it instead. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience. If you're a young Black woman or just someone seeking honest and timely service, I would not recommend coming here. This could have all been communicated clearly from the beginning, but instead I was strung along, ignored, and ultimately left feeling like my warranty coverage was being dismissed. I truly hope Transtar reevaluates their partnership with this shop. Total waste of time.

TERRIBLE!! They take forever and barely answer the phone! I was told that my vehicle would be ready at the end of the week or beginning of the next week by the man that owns the shop. "Kim" (the person that answers the phone) basically called me a liar and said that no one would ever give an estimated time. Then I was blamed because my vehicle had been there for a while before I could get the transmission. The catch is.. the entire too much my vehicle was there they never touched it to even see what was wrong with my transmission. I was just told that I "most likely" need a new one. This is truly some of the WORST customer service in the area. I will NEVER be back. I'm actually on my way to see if I can just get the transmission I paid for and just take my vehicle elsewhere! I don't trust "Kim" at this point and I'm sure they will make things MORE difficult for me since I have spoken my mind.

I can not say enough good things bout this place. Our daughter is away at school and her vehicle started having problems. We got it to them and they went above and beyond for us. From the first phone calling until picking up the fixed vehicle we were treated not just good, but excellent. They absolutely went above and beyond for our daughter. If you need any work done, I recommend giving them a call. You won’t be disappointed.

I'm a senior citizen. I took my car to Tiger Transmission & autocare in Ophelia AL. to have it looked at. Although it was already in good condition I was just unable to drive it across the country. They took the very expensive cadylic converter out without my permission. That was like a trap to cause me to have to allow them to have my business. They changed me $200 and that did not fix my car. When I brought it back they then told me that I needed a new transmission. I was required to pay $4000 up front. I made the mistake of giving in to that. Over a period of 3 years they made 7 different unsuccessful attempts to repair my car. They finally did something to cause the engine to look as though half of it was missing. I had come to pick it up right before their closing hour. I barely made it home going no faster than 20 mph and the car stopped on me several times and barely started back up after sitting on the side of road for a while. A couple of days later it wouldn't start at all. I had to junk it. Now I have no car at all. I had been asking for a refund all along but Josh the manager told me no. I sued and won by default. The court has served them notice and I have sent them letters myself. But they are ignoring me as though they have absolutely no intention on paying me. Now I'm out of the $4200 that I gave them to repair my car. I'm out of 3 years trouble and I'm now out of a car.

I had a transmission problem on the way to Auburn from Birmingham. Left my vehicle at the shop and dropped the key in the drop box on a Saturday. Called Monday to check with Tiger Transmission on Monday. They diagnosed the issue within a couple of days and as I suspected my transmission was shot. The owner gave me multiple options about fixing it and was very helpful in that decision. As my vehicle, a 2005 Honda Pilot with 344K on the odometer, had served me well for 18 years, I decided it was not worth the investment. Tiger Transmission charges me for the diagnostic as they should and helped me get my car in a dolly to bring back to Birmingham. They were helpful, efficient, affordable and friendly. If I ever have any trouble with my next vehicle’s transmission or can steer someone to a good service location, I will highly recommend Tiger Transmission 4U.
