When literally every other shop failed, including VW Timmons, Pasadena, DTLA and Santa Monica. Nicholas came through. On time and under budget. Thank you. ๐๐ฝ VW CC 2012 R-Line. Update: 1+ year later. No issues. A+

I called for an estimate on tires.. dude gave me a price for mounting, balancing and alignment, when I arrived he charge me an extra 20. Still ok, I was going to give him an extra 20 anyways. I left my truck and went to watch a movie while I waited. He calls me and tells me he can't do the alignment, but the tires are balanced and mounted, but the price would be twice what he quoted me. He had already gave me a receipt, and he tells me it's going to be double what he already charged me. He says he's not taking a loss and he can put my old tires back on if I don't want to buy them. I decided to put the old tires on because I'm not paying double the price he quoted me. He mounts my old tires back on and doesn't even bother to balance them. I didn't notice untill I jumped on the freeway and drove home for an hour. Driving home super sketchy with my entire front end vibrating so crazy, I had to get off the freeway and take the streets the rest of the way home. I can understand him not wanting to take a loss, but to let me drive away like that is extremely irresponsible. Worse place I have ever tried to do business with. One star cuz I can't give negative stars...

Brought my vw van here for a check up after I purchased it. I was charged almost $550 to replace one part. $300 in labor. Misquoted that he would charge me $200 in labor. I wanted to write this review months ago but I decided F it, I will just never go back... WELL, interestingly, nick never mentioned that my old rubber fuel lines should be replaced so my van doesnt catch on fire from a fuel leak(s) which cause MOST vanagon fires because just recently my van suddenly started dumping gasoline at a red light. This guy ran across the street and flagged me down... screamed at me to stop driving. I am amazed that this was not the FIRST THING recommended by Nick. Seems like common sense to vw van owners(that I didn't have and was the reason I took my van to Nick post purchase) to replace lines for safety reasons... especially since 100% of the time, I drive around with my 1 year old son. My van could have caught on fire with me and my son in it. Amazing the negligence. Anyone could have taken a look at my rock hard plastic fuel lines and seen a red flag! What in the actual F. I hate to write this review but it needs to be documented.

Wanted a passenger side mirror (from West Coast Metric) installed on my '71 Karmann Ghia. I do a lot of my own maintenance but was a little nervous about digging into the sheet metal. Nick was careful, thorough and quick. Did a great job. Spent the extra minutes to make sure the mirror was adjusted for good visibility. Definitely going back when the need arises....and with a 50 year old car its only a matter of time. Thanks again.

This is the best auto shop in Long Beach. They are Fair, friendly, fast and reliable. I have been bringing my cars here for years along with my moms and my daughters cars. Nick works on all kinds of cars. But, his specialty or favorites is the older Volkswagon. Give him a call I promise you'll be glad I did.

Unbelievable mechanic working with your high end complicated foreign cars and is busy all the time. Because he is so so good! Most customers are long time customers for a good reason. I have a 2009 convertible candy red Volkswagen New Beetle that I love and cherish. Nick keeps that baby running like it is brand new! Someday I am going to have him put some Porsche parts on it, like the brakes for starters...lol!

Love the TNT automotive family. Nick is top class and his team are some of the best professionals in the business. I took my VW fastback restoration project to Nick and he went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I was happy with the finished project and took the time to answer questions and walk me through the process. They are more than fair with pricing, and you can tell the culture here that Nick has set in place really shines. Nick and his team really love and care what they do with Volkswagens and beyond. I can't recommend them enough, only wish I had more restoration projects to work with them on!

Nick was amazing to work with. I was purchasing a 1965 VW westy sight unseen from out of state. The seller dropped off the bus at a repair shop of my choosing and m=boy am I glad that I chose TNT. Nick thoroughly inspected the bus. Sent me tons of photos and recommendations. He also arranged for vehicle transport when the transaction was complete. I highly suggest giving Nick and his team your business.

We were looking for a local shop to take good care of Honu'Ula (Hawaiian for red turtle), which is our "new" 1970 VW Bus. That is exactly what we found at TNT Automotive. Nick is very responsive, offers good descriptions of what needs to be done and problems he finds, and he gets us back on the road asap. He is very good at explaining our options so he can do the work we need and stay on budget.

I've been bringing my nearly 20-year-old VW to TNT Automotive for over 7 years, and I can't recommend them enough. Nick consistently delivers outstanding customer service. He's always mindful of how long your car is in the shop and keeps you informed about part availability and repair timelines. It's clear that he takes real pride in his work and in making sure his customers are taken care of. Trustworthy, professional, and reliableโTNT Automotive is the only place I take my car.

Didn't check their work on my van, didn't assemble the van for operation or safety, and were dishonest along the way. I brought my 1983 Vanagon to TNT with a leaky transaxle and engine plus needing some front end work and a $1,710 / 4-day quote. I explained I was driving down from Central California and needed the timing locked in. I drove out 19 days and ~$3,000 later with a still-leaking transaxle and engine, plus new problems: an oil filter leak, two coolant leaks at hose clamps, a vacuum leak, a disconnected ground, and exhaust leaks everywhere. On day 4, Nicholas (the owner) asked to extend the job to 6 days and $1,910. On day 5, the work still wasnโt done and he said he needed more time and would re-quote. A few days later, he said the total would be around $3,000, forcing me to shuffle flights to retrieve the van. Within a few miles of driving off, I noticed engine oil and transaxle fluid leaks, which told me the work was not checked or test-driven. I then inspected the exhaust and found major leaks. Old exhaust gaskets were reused, and one gasket was missing entirely. This should never be done, especially on ports sealed with RTV and exhaust. Nicholas claimed he reassembled what was there and that the missing gasket was never installed.โThats not true, I did the exhaust work myself before bringing the van in and confirmed all gaskets were present. I later found the old gasket wedged into the pushrod tube cover, apparently dropped and missed during reassembly. I continued checking the vehicle and found a disconnected ground, a loose vacuum hose, and two coolant hoses either loosened or not tightened. There was also a new oil leak at the filter. Nicholas told me he removed the pushrod tube covers to inspect for leaks, but later said he did not remove the exhaust headers, which is not possible on this engine. On top of it all I supplied extra oil that wasnt returned haha. Nicholas was polite over the phone, but the work was unacceptable and not checked. The van was returned unsafe to drive, and I regret bringing it in and am less confident in now observing this work and not knowing what I may have missed. After I pointed out the overcharges and issues, he refunded $500. Some work was completed successfully i think, but dont know how to check (brakes, ball joints, clutch, engine mounts). This was quoted by others around $1,600, meaning I still paid roughly $900 for failed leak repairs and multiple new problems. I get how quotes and timeframes rise, especially on old cars, but in the end they didn't check their work on my van, didn't assemble the van to standards required for operation or safety, and were dishonest along the way.

I took my 2013 jeep patriot 5 speed here to identify if I had a clutch issue or a transmission issue. Mechanic said is was a clutch issue and offered to order parts and fix it. After about a week I picked up my car and wow, it feels like a new car. My worry that the clutch replacement wouldn't fix the problem disappeared. Nick was honest, quick, and trustworthy. I would come here again and would recommend this place to everyone. It's not easy to find a good mechanic, I found one.
