I brought my 2020 Silverado in to have a leveling kit and front breaks done. I was going to do the breaks myself but I figured that they'll have it all apart to do the leveling kit so I may as well just have them get it done. The leveling kit was installed correctly and I'm happy with that job but the breaks were a disaster. When I called to have the parts ordered I requested OEM AC Delco parts. After taking delivery of my truck my dashboard gave the warning that I need to replace my breaks ASAP. My truck has a physically sensor that needs to be replaced with the pads and comes with the AC Delco kit. It was not replaced. Also while driving the truck I noticed that once the breaks heated up due to normal city driving they made a very loud grinding noise every time you came to a stop. It sounded awful, like a metal on metal grinding noise. I called the shop and talked to someone who said I just need to reset my dash warning myself through the steering wheel controls. I stated how it was a physical sensor but the employee insisted that it wasn't and if I cant do it myself, I can return to the shop and have them do it. Once making the 35 minute drive for a second time time the employee at the counter looked it up and found that I do have a sensor that wasn't replaced and said "wow, I didn't realize Chevys were getting all fancy like Mercedes". I asked if they used OEM parts and he said "No, but they're the same thing". For my troubles of having to drive out there for what would be a third time once the sensor came in he said he wouldn't charge me labor, just the cost of the sensor which should have been replaced in the first place. I asked them to look into the grinding I was hearing as well when I returned. When I returned the third time they replaced the sensor but told me everything looked fine and nothing was making any noises. I ended up driving there another two times because of this excessive noise. I explained what the driving conditions needed to be to duplicate this but the shop was unable to do so. Every time I dropped the truck off I had to put the keys in the drop box because I need to be at work. I finally decided I needed to be there to drive these guys around which I did two weeks ago. After being told the mechanic couldn't go on a ride with me because he's busy, the guy at the counter came out with me. I told the shop I wanted them to have my OEM pads in stock for this last visit so once they heard the noise they could swap the pads out. I even offered to pay the difference. I was able to replicate the noise right away to which the employee said "what is that? why would it do that? that's strange!" After the drive I asked the sales rep if they would switch out my pads now to which he said "probably". I left my truck there and waited for them to call me. When I returned for my truck I was told that they did not change the pads, I am breaking to hard and that they cant do anything for me. That I should go to the dealer because I may have a faulty wheel speed sensor that's causing ABS issues. I knew this wasn't the case having worked on cars for a decade and I knew I wasn't getting anywhere with this shop. I drove to the dealer, bought the OEM pads and replaced them myself the following day. I have not had a single problem since I put the stock pads on and my truck is stopping like it should. The amount of time and money I wasted with this place on something as simple as breaks is shocking. Money was never an issue, I would have happily paid more for the OEM parts I requested. The fact that I had to pay for the sensor that should have been put on originally, the fact that I had to drive 35 minutes away in one direction 5 times and the fact that I was just brushed away like a problem they didn't have time for all after giving them a lot of money is just crazy. Save your money and go somewhere else.

What a class organization we’ve done a few cars and truck with our Ford dealership in North Aurora and we have nothing but rave reviews about their product. They also have a standalone shop in Naperville on Ogden and River. I recommend anyone looking to upgrade their truck or cars. They have everything you would want to make your ride look amazing, thank you for helping us out all the time. Much appreciative Gerald Ford.

Bought a soft top from extreme terrain and had it installed here. Wish I would have went directly through total off-road as I would have saved a few bucks. In any event, it was quick and communication was great. Appreciate the crew there at total off-road

Total Offroad ordered and installed front springs on my F150 Raptor. Springs prices were same as I could find online and they got them faster than I could have. Labor time was less than book calls for and final price was same as estimate. Daniel kept me informed with multiple phone calls along the way. Would come back for future service if needed.

First, let me start by saying I’m a truck noob. I’ve had my ‘18 GMC Canyon for 4 years now, just turned 50k miles, and was ready for some new tires and wheels. Being a noob, I know nothing about truck tires, wheels, lifts, leveling kits, etc. Armed with this apprehension, I walked into 4-Wheel Parts ready to declare “I have no idea what I’m doing, but I need help!” and was ready for the eye rolls. I met with John, who proceeded to spend over an hour giving and showing me ideas, figuring out what I liked, what worked best for me and my truck, explaining everything, and most of all, demonstrating patience and understanding. Got my truck back yesterday, and I absolutely love it! Already had 3 people at work ask if I got a new truck. John and the crew’s patience and attention to detail were unmatched. Thanks for the great work!!

Steve was beyond phenomenal. I brought in my Wrangler and Steve took his time examining my vehicle, explaining in detail what was wrong, and was super friendly/funny. Would come back to request Steve to get work done on my Jeep regardless of where I live because Steve’s someone I can trust to do the job right and be honest about the work. Thought I had put Steve’s name down in my phone to know who to request next time but it didn’t save so I’m glad he gave me his card to reference or if a friend ever needs work done on their car. Come to this location and request Steve!

These guys are great to work with and I will be coming back soon! They carried a harder to find bed extender and took the time to make sure it would fit my truck before I purchased. Came home and installed in under 30 mins.

Omar at Total off road is an awesome guy . Helped me choose some top of the line rims and tires for my jeep grand Cherokee. Even after the tires ended up being to big he exchanged them for me without hesitation. And now i love my jeep . You need anything from there make sure you ask for Roman . I bought the metal bumper side steps rims and tires .

They put a chase rack on my Raptor. It came out better than expected. Daniel was very helpful in picking out and quoted me a price over email. It took longer but they still honored the price. Class act and highly recommend

Awesome experience installing new suspension, UCAs and rear trailing kit. Easy to order, scheduled quickly and install was done in a day. Walked me through everything. Jon and his team know what’s up. Way better experience than other shops I’ve been to.

Edit (01/24/18): I was here to day to get a followup inspection done today for some gears and ball joints I had installed last week. Alec and Tom checked me in and handled all my questions. Inspection took about an hour and they did a great job taking care of my jeep! Easily one of the best customer service experiences you'll ever have if you decide to come here. I was at this location yesterday, had an install. Everything went smoothly. Thomas took care of me at the front desk, and I actually spook to him today for another product I'll be getting later this week. This location has gone above and beyond with their customer service!

I needed my front end replaced on my truck and had a lift on it so I thought I would take it to a shop that specializes in this type of work. Not only did Total Off-road downgrade my components, they replaced parts that didn’t even need to be replaced. After spending over $5k for these repairs and multiple trips back to get it fix, my steering wheel won’t lineup and it’s leaking fluids everywhere. now all my new parts are worn out because of the misalignment. Very disappointed in this place And will never go back

They did a great job on my Jeep! They replaced both drive shafts!! My Jeep has never ran this great since I put the lift in! Great work!! They were also very understanding and determined to give me the best deal and quality possible!! I enjoyed working with the manager on the phone as well as in store. The staff in the store was also very accommodating. I had to come from a little over 3 hours away due to a warranty situation which made things a little stressful since the company switched from 4WP to Total Off Road.. with that being said.. Everyone was very polite! Again I appreciated the work and customer service and I would bring my Jeep here for future repairs! Thanks y’all :)

Hands down the best 4×4 shop in the Midwest! I've built quite a few old jeeps as a hobby over the last 20+ years. As I now own a Chrysler Jeep, and having less knowledge of all the electronics and differences from the old ones, this is the exact expertise you are reading these reviews for. A local Tice shop completely screwed up installation of tires on my beadlocks and damaging my rings in the process. Bolts cut, missing, right angle gouges, etc... So in my head, a "Belle" rang! I knew Total Off Road and More would be up for the challenge and come through! And omg they did! Saviors of incompetence!! Thank you so much! Customer for life and will recommend to anyone and everyone I possibly can!! Knowledgeable Competent Honest Stop scrolling and make an appointment!!

It’s disappointing to see that Total Off-Road appears to be operating under the same questionable practices that gave 4WP such a poor reputation in the past. Years ago, I stopped using 4WP after a frustrating experience and moved my business elsewhere. Recently I purchased tires, wheels, and TPMS through AmericanTrucks, which included free mounting, balancing, and installation. The work was outsourced through Install Connect and assigned to Total Off-Road since they were the closest shop to me. Given my past experience with the former 4WP location (now Total Off-Road), I wasn’t thrilled—but I decided to give them a chance. Since I also had leveling struts ready to install, I figured it would be easier to have everything done in one appointment instead of making multiple trips to different shops. Before the work began, I confirmed the quote (verbal, shame on me for not getting it in writing) three separate times: $150/hr for 3 hours plus shop fees, totaling roughly $450–$475 to install the struts and an alignment. However, at checkout I was presented with a bill of about $755. I was told the tire mounting, balancing, and installation were billable—and that the labor rate had increased to $200/hr because I supplied my own parts, something that I had already clearly disclosed beforehand. After pushing back, they eventually removed the $180 charge for mounting and balancing, but the labor rate remained inflated. The issue here isn’t the extra ~$100. It’s the lack of transparency and shifting pricing after the work is done. If the rate was truly $200/hr, that should have been disclosed when the verbal quote was given—especially after confirming the price three different times. Unfortunately, this experience reinforces why I stopped doing business with this shop years ago. They managed to squeeze an extra $100 out of me today……hope they don’t spend it all at once, because it will be the last, they see from me. ______________________________________________________________ Response to Total Offroads response below: Again, I asked about the price three separate times and each time was told the job would be 3 hours at $150/hr plus shop fees. The only thing we agree on is that you offered to sell me the struts, and I declined because I was receiving rebates through AmericanTrucks VIP program. At no point was there any mention of additional labor charges for customer-supplied parts—none—until the bill was presented after the work was already completed. As for the tire sensors, that work was part of the agreement between your shop and Install Connect. If you chose not to bill them, that’s an issue between you and Install Connect, not me. In fact, during a phone call you even asked whether I had new sensors or if you would need to remove the existing ones from my current wheels and tires.
