Nice guys, but I won't be taking my car back to them. I've taken it to them 3 times. The first time the customer service was unreal. They fixed the car, brought it to my house when finished, and I found a couple weeks later when I popped the hood that they cleaned my engine. At that point I said, they 'won my business for life'. I took it a second time and it was okay, but I thought high for what they did. I just picked my car up yesterday (3rd time), and again nice guys, but they overcharged. The parts we're all 70%-100% marked up compared to what I can buy them at the local auto parts store. I expect mark up and I expect them to make money, but that's overcharging. They said I needed new brake pads, which I personally changed less than a year ago so I know I didn't. The issue I had from the second visit never went away so they had to fix the 'other side' this time. Why was this missed before? Did you fix something that didn't to be? They had my car much longer than they should have for the work I had done. 5 business days to fix a sensor, exhaust leak, tie rod, and brake rotors/pads. I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment and they told me no, not if you're going to drop it off the night before. They didn't work on it for the first three days and kept telling me they had to dig deeper. Given what the actual issues were, which I knew when I dropped it off and told them, I can't imagine what they would have been digging for. I'm sure they were trying to make me feel better about how long it was taking and that they hadn't worked on it. With a labor rate of $100/hr you might as well take it to the dealer. Again, really nice guys, but they overcharged me, had my car too long, and 'possibly' performed work that didn't need to be done or at the very least misdiagnosed.

Really great customer service, they couldn't do all the work I wanted on my car, so they took the price down for me. I talked specifically with the mechanic that was going to work on my car which was super nice. Plus, it's really clean and not sketchy at all.

This is a great car shop. Over the years I have found these guys to be very honest and their prices are way better than dealers and other shops. More than once my family members were told something by a dealer service department or a different repair shop that didn't seem right to me. I had them take their vehicle to this shop for a second opinion. I've never regretted it. This shop has been here for quite a while under the same management so you get to know them and that counts for a lot in the vehicle maintenance and repair business.

We were visiting from Virginia, and I had my oil changed at a discount place here. Later that day, my check engine light came on and the car was running a bit strange. I used my Carmax warranty, and they referred me to Tunex in South Jordan. Tunex said to come on by, and they would use the diagnostic to see what the problem was. The personnel were so kind and professional. Within just a couple of minutes they had found the problem- the oil change place had not properly tightened the clamp on the hose for the air filter. They fixed it immediately and refused to take any money when I offered! I was so impressed! This is a great place staffed by great people! Thank you!

Highly recommended. They helped me out after my car overheated due to a faulty water pump. They were friendly, helpful, and flexible. Most importantly, they demonstrated professional integrity when they could easily have done otherwise. I'll be going back with all my cars for oil changes in the future, and I'll be sure to recommend them to friends and family. Thanks to all of you at Tunex South Jordan!

Pretty disappointed, I had high hopes. Came here with a great referral from someone else. Sadly I was let down. I live an hour away and bringing the car in is not something I can do on a lunch break. I brought the car in to have the front/rear suspension checked out, and to have front/rear struts/shocks replaced. It has 170,000 miles and I wanted everything checked out. after inspection, I was told the suspension was tight with no issues, and everything was good. I mentioned a shake/vibration when in drive, and they had a hard time replicating it at first. They finally were able to replicate it, and I had them change a motor mount for me. no problems here. The motor mount I needed was back ordered, nothing we can do about that. I had them replace the valve cover gasket as well. They really didnt seem to know which motor mount would help the vibration issue. First time I picked the car up from being repaired, the check engine light came on immediately, and we had to turn around and go back. Makes me wonder if the car was test driven after work was done. The technician forgot to plug in the cam position sensor. Then, the car is clunking on the way home when hitting bumps, which it did not do before I dropped it off. I called them when I get home and get told "you can bring it back and we can look. Its probably fine, just the struts breaking in". I have never heard this in my life, and I have over 10 years of automotive industry experience. I provided the struts/shocks, so I figured they may be bad out of the box, due to them being Monroes. I talked with Randy about this on the phone. I brought the car back to them again to diagnose the loud clunk after they had done the work described above. After having the car for a few days they told me "we put microphones on it and its coming from inside the strut". They were unable to fix or find what was causing my loud clunking noise, and they had a hard time replicating it. I understand, sometimes it can be tough. however the whole time I am feeling like the car is being rushed out and they are just pushing cars through the shop without truly diagnosing. They mentioned we could replace sway bar links to see if it helps, but it just seemed like they were guessing at this point and were not confident with any of their diagnosis. They were back ordered at the time and I didnt want to have my car at the shop any longer, so I brought it home. I have had the car to them multiple times now and I did not want to spend any more money or waste time out of my day to drive another hour one way to bring it in, only to be rushed back out. I feel my concerns were being brushed off and not taken seriously. I didnt have time to bring the car back a 4th, 5th, or 6th time to give them another chance. Recently I take the car to Larry H Miller Honda in Murray for a diagnosis. Still making noise. Within 2 hours on the same day, they found bad sway bar links in the front which were causing the clunk noise, and replaced them. fixing the problem. The car rides great. Review: 3 stars for how we were treated, Randy was very nice but could have been more thorough with his technician when dealing with my vehicle when I brought up sounds/issues I was having. I was allowed to bring in some of my own parts, which is nice. Thank you for that. 1 star for not being able to find a problem that should have been pretty easy for a repair facility of this caliber, especially after coming back twice to try and find the problem. This caused multiple come-backs. 1 star for quality of work performed and poor diagnosis due to multiple come-backs after being in the shop, and no discounts or anything done to make it worth our time.

I hit some debris yesterday morning and blew out 2 tires in my car. I had my car towed over to Tunex because it was fairly close by. I coordinated with them while at work, and they were able to find me a decent deal on some new tires. The reason I am giving a low rating is for 2 reasons: 1. They told me the tires would come in between 3-3:30, and they’d get them on pretty quick around 4:00. I got off work at 2:30, so I had a family member pick me up rather than going home, and I went there at 4:00 expecting them to be close to done, and they told me they had just gotten the tires and would have them on in 45 minutes or so. I went over to my family members house, and called at 4:45, to be told they were “about to get it in”, and it’d take another 30 minutes. Called again 30 minutes later to be told they just started working on it and they’d be done just before 6:00. Went in just before 6:00, and they were just getting to my car at that point, and I didn’t leave there until 6:15. I was frustrated by the extremely poor communication, as I would have gone home and been able to spend time with my family had I known it would be so much later. Also, because it took them so long they said they didn’t have enough time to check the alignment on the car. 2. Not a single person in the store was wearing a mask. We are currently in a pandemic with a major spike in cases, and they have people coming in and out all day, and don’t think it’s important to be wearing a mask when working with customers. Edit: they called and tried to remedy the situation by offering a free alignment check and repairs if necessary. This time they were all wearing masks and service was excellent so I adjusted my rating.

We were in town on a family vacation. Our battery was dead on New Year’s Day and it was snowing like crazy. AAA came out and said it was an alternator problem and we would need a mechanic. We were scheduled to leave for Park City the next day. We would have lost our lift tickets, rentals, parking and more importantly our day making memories had it not been for our hero, Steve! On the answering machine for Tunex it said text this number if it is an emergency. We did and got a super fast response from Steve and an offer to check it that night as the shop would be closed again tomorrow for the holiday. We took our car over and he got us on our way. Thank you to Steve for giving up part of his holiday to make it possible to continue on our family vacation. I highly recommend this shop.

The folks at Tunex are great! The man at the front counter is always friendly and patient with me. I don't know anything about cars, but I've never had a problem with mine after getting repairs done here. I've received repairs from here 3-4 times and gotten a few oil changes as well. I plan to keep coming back.

Tyler was GREAT. I called weeks ago to find out pricing and although it wasn't the cheapest option by about $20, they were open on Saturday and could guarantee I could get my car back within the day. They gave me cost of labor, and for the part. I found the part cheaper elsewhere and they let me bring it in and they installed it. It took then 3 hours even though they were busy and it wasn't a scheduled fix. Very friendly, very professional. Easy and straight forward. I would definitely go there again. The price I was quoted was exactly what I was charged. My fluids were topped off and they even vacuumed my interior. I am a fan.

Transmission Flush needed. Other places couldn't give me an exact quote before dropping it off so I tried this place. They quoted me a reasonable amount. They called me to let me know it would be less than the quoted price because it was easier to perform than they thought. I am happy with the service and my car is running great. I will bring it back next week for emissions cuz they proved trustworthy.

I'm visiting from out of state for a baseball tournament with my kids and the morning of a game I couldn't start my car. Turns out I had a bad alternator. After finding a couple of mechanics that turned me down I went to Tunex. They were able to replace my alternator and battery the same day. Randy was slammed, but he took me in and fixed it so I could drive home a couple of days later. He was honest and upfront about costs and I know I could have been charged more somewhere else. I can't say thank you enough.

Car troubles never come at a good time, but today, many miles from home, the splash shield came loose in the front of my car and was dragging on the road. Help! I hobbled into Tunex and even though they were obviously busy with many cars (including classics) in for repairs, they fit me in immediately and repaired the dangling panel quickly. And get this, they didn’t charge me a dime! Now that is neighborly service. I can’t recommend them more highly and will seek them out when I need further repairs. Many thanks for such fine service!

I’ve been bringing my cars here for years. Sure having to spend money to fix a car sucks, but Randy and crew are always helpful, friendly, and make sure my expectations for costs and time for services are set properly before they do anything. It helps a lot and I appreciate it.

I was so dazzled by the incredibly fast service and the goth lesbian energy from the worker that checked my tire pressure for me that i forgot to tell them how awesome they were up front. 12/10 service, will definitely be coming back.

My friend got three quotes for her 2020 VW Jetta repair ranging from $800 to $1,200. I sent her here, and they quoted it at $566. They discovered that the N80 vent valve (part of the EVAP system), which was triggering the code, wasn’t actually bad. Instead, it was a faulty leak detection pump causing the EVAP system to throw a code. Last year, she took it to the dealer, and they replaced the N80 vent valve for $1,200 without identifying the real issue—the leak detection pump. When the check engine light came back on a few months later, she took it back, and they wanted to replace the N80 vent valve again, even though it wasn’t the real problem. They obviously would have replaced it again for $1,200 and then called her to say they found another problem, charging an additional $1,200. They took no responsibility for replacing the N80 vent valve last time, so I’m sure they wouldn’t have taken responsibility this time either. If you're a woman who doesn’t know much about cars, I highly recommend this place. Randy is a good guy—it’s obvious he’s not just trying to make a commission on your repair.

I have brought my vehicles here a few times and every time the experience has been great! I have only dealt with Randy every time and he is straight forward, honest and very knowledgable. One time I took my vehicle there because I heard noise from the brakes. I thought it was time to change the brakes. They looked at them and called me and said that the brakes are fine for a while. I was shocked that they didn't try to sell me anything. So, I picked up my vehicle and took it back whenever I had other problems. They were able to diagnose the problems, tell me exactly what it needed and get it repaired and back on the road same day or next day. I did have to take it back one time for the same problem and they fixed it for free because it was under their warranty and didn't even try to charge me for it. It is hard to find an honest shop, but I found it and will always go there until I have a bad experience! So far so good after maybe 6+ visits! I highly recommend!

I've been coming to this Tunex for my emissions ever since moving back to Utah. I love that I can handle the registration at their office and not have to make an additional trip to the DMV. Randy is always extremely helpful and goes the extra mile for customer service.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE. There should be a negative start rating, so people can stay away from business like this. I brought my car here because I get a discount with AAA, the diagnosis they ran was like 4 different things and wanted to keep the car for the whole day just to do labor because is the only way to hit your pockets. They said we have to take the tank out and find out more and so far you’re looking at almost $2,000. They saw the car was an AMG 43. So of course they wanted to do it. I had scheduled an appointment with someone else for Monday because I had this issue during the weekend. So I decided to take the car out of this Tunex shop, and Randy the Manager started to have a really bad customer service towards me because I said I was not going to that because I know that wasn’t the issue with the car. I paid a “diagnosis” for nothing. I told them my towing company will come get the car and they were so rude to the towing driver. They even scratched my car and the headlights. Me laughing I said anything else I need? They didn’t respond and I said thank you have a good one Randy. And the so called manager didn’t even said anything back. As soon as my mechanic saw the car can and heard he checked for gas and saw the problem. He instantly knew what was wrong, and all the car needed was gas, it turn out it was just low on gas. I just have not noticed because I usually don’t drive this vehicle because it’s my wife. 2 gallons later and a $40.00 towing my car was working perfectly fine. PEOPLE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
