Came in for a simple oil change and left disappointed. When I got home, I checked my vehicle oil level was low, windshield washer fluid wasn’t filled, and coolant was still low. They clearly didn’t inspect anything, just focused on upselling extras I didn’t need. Worst part? I even tipped $20 each thinking they were doing a thorough job. Total scam. I don’t recommend this place at all

Several months ago, my son took his vehicle to Valvoline for a standard oil change. What he received instead was catastrophic negligence: their technicians failed to fill the engine with oil — a basic and critical part of the service. This oversight initially resulted in a $300 repair bill. We chalked it up to human error, hoping that would be the end of it. It wasn’t. The damage worsened, and the engine has now completely failed. The new cost? $3,000 — all because Valvoline didn’t do their job. After submitting a formal complaint, I was contacted by a district manager who admitted that the video footage had no usable audio. And despite this glaring gap in evidence, he still concluded that there was “nothing he could do.” No accountability. No effort to make things right. Just deflection and corporate double-speak. This isn’t just a story about a failed oil change — this is about a young man who works for a nonprofit, devoting his time to rescuing animals and giving back to the community. I would like to warn others so you don’t end up in the same situation I ended up in. In September of last year I got an oil change from this location in Hickory. The next day I went to Greenville NC for the day. The entire way there and back I could smell a faint burning smell. The next couple days I noticed my driveway had oil spots all over it. We checked the oil and there wasn’t even a drop in there. We called the location and they told us they got in a box of faulty oil filters and to come back. We first picked up some oil to get there and by the time we got there it was already empty. (7 miles away). I reached out to customer service because of the situation and they had me send pictures of my driveway. The manager or district manager called me and said he would give me three free oil changes (which I have no desire for) I told him if anything happens to my car I’m going to reach back out and he said “absolutely”.. two weeks later I went on a trip to universal. On the way there my car made a huge snapping noise and automatically shut off. I had to get a tow and a rental. I had it towed to the dealership and it was around 800 for it to get repaired. (They said the belt had been submerged in oil) I have reached out multiple times and no one is responding to me. This cheap oil change ended up costing me over a thousand dollars not to mention my driveway and the overall inconvenience. Valvoline you need to make this right…
