I just wanted to check in really quick to give my appreciation for the entire process at Volvo Carlsbad. I am somebody that goes through used car purchases fairly regularly, definitely more than the average person. Everybody at Volvo was great. Michael Page was a great front line salesman that was very calm and relaxed and did not give off even the slightest hint of a "slimy" or "aggressive" salesman. I cannot remember the finance managers name, however once the agreement was made, I was out of the door in, I believe, less than 30 minutes (that really speaks volume when finalizing a deal, you know that they give you priority). He was very professional with his paperwork and you can tell he knows his business. They were not pushy by any means and they did not include 101 different hidden values that made things difficult. It was extremely easy to get to a position where we were both very satisfied. That is how it should always go. However, maybe because of my personal semi-frequent car purchasing experience, I can easily tell who are the good sellers in the game. Again, thank you Carlsbad Volvo. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I will absolutely recommend your department for anybody looking for a vehicle. I am sure I will be back one day in the future! Maybe the next vehicle will be that fully electric Volvo.

These guys have been great to our family. We bought a 2016 XC90 from them certified preowned back in 2019 with 40K miles on it. We financed it over 36 months and Johnson was great and got us in our new vehicle with a great rate without delay. My one regret was not pulling the trigger on the extended warranty. Being our first luxury vehicle, we’ve been shocked at the cost of repair when things do go wrong, but the service guys have gotten us in quickly and taken really good care of us. Alan runs a great team and Albert and Frank have always been quick to call with status updates while our car has been in the shop for repairs. They took great care of us on an AC repair that required a couple trips in due to multiple part failures and were empathetic with our frustration on it not getting resolved fully the first time around. They wash the car after each service and make sure you leave completely satisfied. Good team here at Volvo Carlsbad!

I don’t know how it happened, but I somehow found the exact car I was looking for on a whim while coming to get my car evaluated. The entire team helped me through a trade in and sale in less than 3 hours. I don’t think I need to say much more than that! These people are true professionals who offered me top dollar on my trade, and a great deal on a new all electric 2023 C40 Recharge. I even laughed and had a good time with the sales and finance department throughout the process. This is my third Volvo I’ve purchased in 9 months, all from different dealers as I’ve been moving frequently. This is the best experience yet! Thank you Carlsbad Volvo, Lance and the entire team. Also can’t forget Rob. He’s probably one of the most badass salesman that’s ever existed in the history of Volvo. I’ll be back for my next Volvo…and my next…and my next.

Needs much better communication. Went in Sunday for a CPO car, was told it would be ready in a couple days once it came off the lift. Called Monday, no reply. I call Tuesday and am told they already sold it despite telling me that they would call me once it was ready to be sold

My wife and I had an outstanding experience at Carlsbad Volvo. From the moment we arrived for our appointment, the sales manager greeted us warmly and even took the time to address a less-than-ideal experience we had at Volvo Escondido two years ago, which meant a lot to us. Shahid, our sales representative, was exceptional throughout the entire process. He promptly reached out when I expressed interest in a Volvo and made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We were genuinely impressed with the professionalism and kindness displayed by the entire team and the immaculate facility. Wowowow! Walked into Volvo with no appointment. I’m a BMW enthusiast and was absolutely so impressed with all of my questions being answered with no hesitation when it came to working with Olin Kehlet. He took the time to listen to us speak, took us on test drives, remembered details about what was important to us in regards to find the perfect car- and really did work out some wonderful deals to make us feel like we didn’t waste our time. He is patient, he is kind and very knowledgeable. Please ask for him by name if you don’t know anything about a Volvo and without little swaying need to be convinced to buy one. Olin is honest and attention and you can really tell he enjoys building client relationships. Really impressed by the service and quality of cars

I have been searching for the perfect car for my wife for quite some time. I refreshed my search last night on a 3rd party site after hours and found the perfect fit at this dealership. The car has been online and for sale on the 3rd party site for 17 days. It is still up by the way. I know that 3rd party sites aren't always up to date, so I clicked the link to Volvo Cars Carlsbad. It was still available on their site and seemingly available. I hate walking up to a dealership and getting swarmed by sales people, so I made an appointment for today at 10:30am. I fully expected them to call my cell to confirm the appointment, but they didn't. I showed up on time. We literally were the only customers there. I asked about the car and my appointment. I was finally told in person that the car already sold yesterday. On my way out the door, the attempted complete their bait and switch by offering a similar car that is priced $9000 more. No thank you. To make matters worse, 15 min later while still driving back from my wasted trip, I got a phone call from them. The asked if I was going to come in for my appointment! Complete waste of a trip. When you sell a car, take it off your site. They get 2 stars instead of 1, because they have now taken it down, but is still up on the 3rd party page.

"Well, that was a great car buying experience" said no one ever. That was until Sunday, 1/25/26. Pour yourself a beverage, have a seat and smoke 'em if you got 'em. This here is a tale that few have experienced. We pull in to Carlsbad Volvo and start looking for the XC60's when a pleasant voice asks if we needed help finding a certain car. We turned and met Tiana. She let us know some of the cars were open and we could crawl around inside to get a look at the interior and to inhale the new car smell. I may have been overwhelmed with that scent, but suddenly I was in the passenger seat as The Wife was taking a test drive. How did we get to this? The Wife loved the handling and the size. Tiana said "Google set temperature to 70" and the car complied, I was ready to cut a check. For The Wife, the 360 camera was a big selling point. After the test drive, back into the dealership to "discuss numbers". My sales spidey senses went to max preparing for the fire hose of misleading info about to hit us. Tiana said the manager would run numbers and we could review. Ah, the 'ol need to talk to the sales manager routine. I'm hip and ready to haggle. Michael reviewed the invoice, MSRP, discounts and trade-in estimate. I really did not have many questions. What I did NOT have was my own numbers and thus no counter. I love buying cars as negotiating is just awesome fun. This was spur of the moment, so on to do my homework. I searched pricing info. The exact car we were looking for was at a sister dealership. This was moving forward but I was not ready. After researching, the offer from Carlsbad Volvo was decent. On 1/25/26, The Wife and I went back to the dealership and I had an idea of my target price. We got a higher appraisal on our trade-in at CarMax and it was accepted with no questions. I brought up a similar car in the area for us to look at and compare pricing. We settled on a price that was in my zone and was a good price. To top if off, Lance offered some financing options that would save us morel money. Now it was on to the paperwork. Ugh. Many people fear the negotiation part of buying a car. I loathe the paperwork. "Here's my money, let me drive away". Instead, let's sit at a desk, fill out a 12 foot long sales document and do docs in triplicate. Long painful hours and by the end I have buyers remorse. Johnson lead us, explaining efficiently we cruised through paperwork in record time. Skeptical, I kept looking at the numbers expecting misc charges to show up, but none appeared! We walked out to our new car with a huge bow and Tiana ready to take pictures. We drove off and The Wife is loving her new ride. Tiana was great. Friendly. Not Pushy. Personable. Responsive. The rest of the folks we interacted with were very good and I would recommend my friends to stop in when they are looking for a Volvo. "Well, that was a great car buying experience." - J&R - 1/25/26

In particular, Shahid was a great advocate in helping choose a car that we are really happy with and Lance was very straight forward and fair in the purchase of it. Great service... until you sign on the dotted line. Then, you're left to figure out why your $60k vehicle is making a strange noise since the sales rep couldn't be bothered. I'll always buy Volvo's, because the safety of my teenage driver is priceless and Volvo international reordered and delivered a brand new vehicle to my door. I should not have driven 3 hours for this car and expected any kind of customer service after I was "out of their hair." However, they were the only dealer in the state with the exact specs I wanted. Do yourself a favor and go to Volvo San Diego... Tucson... or Phoenix.... but definitely, buy the Volvo and spring for the polestar.

I would not recommend bringing your vehicle to this location for SERVICE. Unfortunately, my experience has consistently fallen below the standards expected from a Volvo dealership. We purchased our car new from Volvo and had three services included. Out of convenience, we chose this dealership — which turned out to be a mistake. Communication and accountability have been ongoing issues: an advisor went on vacation without follow-up, staff frequently deflect responsibility, and service timelines are rarely accurate. During one visit, our tire pressure warning was ignored, only for the team to later discover a nail in the tire — yet they refused to repair it despite our Permaseal warranty purchased through Volvo. Overall, the lack of transparency, follow-through, and professionalism is disappointing. I hope Volvo corporate reviews the service operations at this location to ensure they meet the level of quality and care the brand represents. I welcome Volvo corporate management to contact me directly to discuss this experience further and help restore confidence in the brand’s customer service.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Volvo Cars Carlsbad! From start to finish, the team was professional, transparent, and genuinely kind. Our salesperson, Julian, was fantastic—patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy. He gave us a clear itemized list of the costs which really helped us think through the finances of it all and decide if it was something we could do. Once we decided to buy, he didn't rush through explaining all the features of the car either and even helped us set up Apple CarPlay, etc. His manager, Lance, carefully checked out the car we were trading in and gave us a good value. The whole process was smooth, stress-free, and even fun (the ocean-view test drive didn’t hurt!). Even though we were buying a Subaru they had received as a trade-in and not a Volvo, they treated us like we were buying their most expensive vehicle. Volvo Carlsbad got our business because of their honesty and transparency - other dealers should take note.

I had a really great experience getting my CPO XC40. No pressure or sketchy tactics. I worked with Kristine and she was really friendly and really chill and helped me get all the accounts set up and settings right in the car while the paperwork was being prepared. The price on the car was completely fair considering how many extras it has, some I didn’t even notice until I got it home. Love my new Volvo and would recommend Carlsbad to anyone.

I visited Volvo Carlsbad as a returning Volvo customer and had a wonderful experience with William. He was extremely knowledgeable, honest, friendly, and helpful. He patiently guided me through the process as I was unsure about what would work best for me, explaining the pros and cons and putting me at ease. Couldn’t have dreamed of a better dealership experience. I shopped around for a Volvo at multiple dealerships and when I spoke to the people at Carlsbad I just knew I had to buy from them. Olin’s expertise and attentiveness are unmatched, super personable guy and genuinely cares about putting you in a car you’ll love. If you go, you simply must ask for Olin. BUT WAIT THERES MORE!!! I bought a 2025 v60, that wasn’t able to be released to me at the time of purchase due to a software update that was required. It was all disclosed to me, and while I waited, Michael was super accommodating and I couldn’t have asked for better communication when it came to updates on my car. Johnson explained all the paperwork to me in a way that made sense. The only way he could of had me out of there quicker is if I gave him a power of attorney to just sign for me. Finally, Kristine took so much time out of her day to sit down with me and explain how to work everything in the car, which is greatly appreciated. Everyone I didn’t directly work with was super friendly and I’m sure just as great. Overall my experience at Volvo Carlsbad was a 10/10 and I highly recommend.

I recently purchased a new 2025 Volvo XC90 from Volvo Cars Carlsbad, and the entire experience was outstanding. This is the second consecutive time purchasing from Volvo Cars Carlsbad. I own a 2023 XC90 and now also a 2025 XC90 My Sales Consultant, Shahid Mauladad, was exceptional from start to finish. He listened carefully to what I was looking for, answered questions thoroughly without any high-pressure tactics. Their knowledge of Volvo’s technology, safety innovations, and driving dynamics really stood out—no generic sales pitch, just genuine expertise and patience. When we moved to finalizing the deal, the manager, Michael Reeves, stepped in and made everything even smoother. He personally handled the entire financing seamlessly. Michael Reeves was the Sales Consultant when I purchased the 2023 XC90. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was still there and even better that he was now the manager. They reviewed the numbers transparently, honored the agreed-upon pricing without any surprises or last-minute add-ons, and ensured the paperwork was handled efficiently and clearly. Their leadership was evident in how well the whole team worked together—no one felt rushed, and every detail was taken care of professionally. Both Shahid and Michael shared how much they enjoyed working the Volvo Carlsbad and shared how lucky they felt working for the company. The car itself is fantastic. And since I already owned a XC90, it was familiar and comfortable. I like Volvo’s build quality and advanced safety systems. We had a great experience at Volvo Carlsbad thanks to Shahid Mauladad. He was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and going out of his way to find answers when needed. Our goal was just to test drive, but Shahid introduced us to the C40, which ended up being a perfect fit for what we wanted. The car was so new it hadn’t even been registered yet and needed to be certified, but Shahid made the process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend working with him!
