Didn’t buy a car here because they tried to screw me on the price. Ended up buying from a dealer in the West Valley, but planned on getting service done here as it is closest to my home. Urgent service message popped up on my car, called for service and was told they couldn’t help me for 2+ weeks. Suggested I just leave the five month old car there and pay for my own rental car as I did not buy the car from them. What the heck. Last I checked, service doesn’t require purchasing the vehicle there. Apparently with this dealer it does. So, don’t do business with them for purchase (unless you want to pay thousands more than other area dealers) and don’t plan on giving them service business either because you don’t matter unless you pay thousands more to buy from them.

First of all, let me start by saying this, I love Volvos, I previously had an S40, now I drive a 2023 C40 and partner drives a 2011 C30. **This post is about the 2011 C30** In May 2023 Courtesy Volvo of Gilbert had the 2011 C30 for sale which I found strange because it was so old and had 108,869 miles…Typically I would stay away from vehicles that old and with that many miles, however the service history on that vehicle was impeccable, the sales guy, Jeremy Horstman walked me through all of the repairs the car previously had, all repairs were done with Volvo and everything was documented, the one repair that caught my attention was the AC compressor, per the service history it was replaced in September 2022 at Volvo of Gilbert when the vehicle had 106,160 miles. Anyone living in Phoenix knows if you’re gonna buy a used car you need to make sure the AC system is in good working condition due to the +110° summers…so when I saw the AC compressor was replaced at the same Volvo dealership where I was buying the car from it eased my mind. We purchased the car on May 22, 2023 with 108,869 miles. Fast-forward to April 12, 2024 The car now has 110,500 miles…. Made an appointment at the Volvo of Scottsdale because the AC was not cooling, it turns out the AC compressor is bad and needs to be replaced, the service advisor showed me pictures and it was very clear that the car had the original compressor as it was old and rusted, so it turns out compressor was never replaced as noted on the service records with Volvo. This is unacceptable and I need somebody from Volvo of Gilbert to make this right. *****UPDATE 4/18/2024***** On Monday, the Director of Operations for Volvo of Gilbert (Mark) called me to get clarification regarding the air conditioning issue and to discuss possible solutions to get it resolved. I'm not gonna lie...I was upset, frustrated and not afraid to express my disappointment in the Volvo brand, I did keep it professional but my tone was not something I was proud of, regardless Mark seemed to understand the situation and was very receptive to how I was feeling. Mark suggested I bring the car in to get a second look and see if the diagnostics from the other Volvo dealership checked out. Yesterday I dropped the car off to get it looked at; when I first arrived I wasn't sure how I would be received...evil stink eye or welcoming smile..... well.....I'm glad to say I did not lose hope in humanity lol the Service Manager (Mitch) was very courteous and understanding.... After a few hours Mitch and I walked back to where the car was being worked on by the mechanic, to my surprise the A/C compressor did NOT look rusted (like in the picture) and it had a BIG sticker with manufacture date 09/2022...immediately my stomach dropped and felt ridiculously stupid, now because of the misinformation I got from Volvo of Scottsdale I looked like a crazy person trying to cause drama, super embarrassing. Now that the manufacturing date mystery was solved Mitch was still willing to help me figure out why the AC was not cooling, so I left the car overnight to give them more time to troubleshoot the cooling system. Unfortunately this morning I got a Call from Mitch letting me know that the mechanic confirmed the AC compressor was bad but to my surprise Mark, Mitch and Volvo corp got together and decided to make an exception to honor the warranty to get the AC compressor replaced. I'm very grateful to Volvo of Gilbert and I sincerely apologize for my assumptions. I have definitely learned a lesson today.. always get a second opinion before drawing up your own conclusion.

Silje is amazing! She’s so nice and helps us trade in our car and get a new Volvo so quickly. I’m very happy with the service and would totally recommend this dealership.

Wow so disappointed with them! I just leased a new 2026 XC90 about a week ago, the sales manager who was in charge is Ricardo Claure, I thought the transaction went ok while not knowing that a very important information was not mentioned to me. When I negotiated the new lease, I was turning in my 2023 XC90, I asked the sales person who was working with Ricardo his name is Ashton if there was anything that needed to be done on my 2023 XC90, do I need to inspect it, do I need to do anything to it, he said No don't worry you are all set. They took the car from me and never mentioned that it was going to go through an inspection by a third party to check any damages, then I got a bill in the mail from Volvo Finance that I owe $900 on my 2023 that I turned in. When I called the dealership to speak to Ricardo and explain my situation and that because of their miscommunication and misinformation I ended up with a high bill that I could of fixed myself and pay half the price, he said Well it's not my problem that you have damage on your car, completely ignoring the fact that they mislead me. If I knew about this inspection I would have done it myself by scheduling it and getting anything that needs to be fixed, done. But since they never told me that it's going to happen now I have to pay for it top $. They made it seem like all was good and the fact that I'm staying with Volvo and taking another one, I didnt have to worry about the car I turned in. This is very frustrating, I will not be doing business with them again. Dont trust this place, this is the 4th time I lease a Volvo and I did my transactions with other Volvo Dealership and never had any issues.

Service people lie right to your face. They will tell your car is almost done when they have not even brought it in yet after 2 hours. They will put the wrong cabin filters in your car or at least tell you that when you are leaving service with your 1 year old car and it makes a brand new horrible sound in the cabin. Lack of focus in service dept. They will treat you extra shitty if you bought your car somewhere else. They don’t seem to understand people move. I actually bought my current Volvo while getting an oil change on my older one.No worries about that happening here. Showroom might as well have tumbleweeds blowing through it on both my visits.I was offered a free oil change on my way out probably so I wouldn’t leave this review but I don’t believe the person that offered it will be there in a year. Nor should she. This Volvo dealership is a disgrace to the brand.

Really unhappy with the service here. On multiple occasions, I have taken the vehicle here for a particular issue and returned with other problems. I had the AC evaporator core replaced during which the whole dash needs to come out and after that service the car doesn’t turn-on (no crank) about 1 in 40-50 attempts. They can’t reproduce the issue since it occurs so intermittently, yet they can suggest repairing 2-3 things for $3-4k. They don’t want to escalate the issue higher up the Volvo chain since they don’t think that is useful. Took the vehicle in for rear rotor and pads replacement and now they highlight concerns with front suspension which didn’t exist when I gave them the vehicle. They bent the prongs in the key fob that connect to the cell battery. So when the battery is inserted, it’s shorted out and gives a low battery warning when I reached home. I can’t imagine why a technician doesn’t know how to properly put a battery back in. In all, I would stay away from Volvo Gilbert. They clearly don’t know what they are doing.

Gilbert Volvo is wonderful. Working with Toni, General Sales Manager, Olga, Finance and Jaden was a quick and excellent experience. Highly recommend this dealership over the Scottsdale dealership. Gilbert Volvo does not disappoint. Thank you Volvo Gilbert. "Cheers!"

Buying a luxury car brand is not just about the car and it's about the end to end experience. I walked in to this showroom after some very poor and interesting experiences in a few other places. I was really pleased and impressed with how Kim and Timothy represented Volvo and their dealership. Their approach felt very consultative than pushing to sell a car. The end to end call purchase process as well as followup post the purchase was awesome. Their service coordinator Mike was also very helpful. Where needed the showroom manager also reached out to us to give us insights and confidence on Volvo brand.

I recently had an incredible experience purchasing a car from Jordan at Volvo in Gilbert and I couldn't be more satisfied. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exemplary. Jordan was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely interested in finding the perfect car for me. They patiently answered all my questions, offered transparent pricing, and made the entire process seamless and stress-free. The sales team provided valuable insights during the test drive, ensuring I was comfortable with my choice. The financing process was straightforward, with no hidden fees, and they secured a great deal for me. Even after the purchase, the follow-up and continued support have been outstanding. I highly recommend Volvo at Gilbert for their exceptional service and commitment to customer satisfaction.

I must say Sydney is the most professional and outstanding Volvo specialist that I have ever come across when it comes to knowing her product to carefully walk me through a wants and needs evaluation and finally landed me on the perfect XC60. I’m so happy with my new volvo, I can’t wait To take it across the country if you’re looking for an amazing sales person, Sydney should be your top pick

Working with this dealership has been one of the most aggravating experiences I’ve ever had. After looking at a brand-new Volvo XC-90 on Sunday, my fiancée and I decided to move forward with the purchase. I began working with the dealership on Monday to finalize financing. After reviewing several options, with the associate, Tony, it was determined that Capital One would be the best choice. This process took all of Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday, a manager named Bo took over the deal, since Tony was out of town. Later that afternoon, I was at the dealership signing paperwork and paying my down payment. The finance associate told me that once the documents were submitted, funding should take anywhere from a couple of hours to 24 hours. I was also told they would not call Capital One directly because it “messes with the queue.” The important detail? The dealership has an internal policy that they will not release the vehicle until the loan is funded. By Thursday and Friday, I was repeatedly calling both Capital One and the dealership trying to figure out what was causing the delay. Despite being told multiple times that Bo would call me back, I never received a call. On Saturday, I contacted Capital One again and finally learned the real issue: in order for the loan to be funded, I needed to take delivery of the vehicle. In other words, the bank required the dealership to release the car before funding. This directly contradicted the dealership’s internal policy of not releasing vehicles until funding was complete. I relayed this information to Bo, who initially said that couldn’t be correct and claimed Capital One had admitted fault the day before. He told me he would call them and get back to me. Once again, no return call. When I followed up, Tony, the original associate I was working with, confirmed exactly what I had already explained — yet still insisted they could not release the vehicle due to internal policy. At that point, I made it clear that if they could not release the car that day, I wanted my money refunded. Eventually, I received a call from the GM, Mark Perry. He explained that they’ve had bad past experiences with Capital One and therefore would not release the vehicle prior to funding. My question was simple: if you know you don’t like working with Capital One under these conditions, why recommend them in the first place? Why not tell me upfront and allow me to choose another lender? After two calls with the GM - and after I had essentially done the legwork by repeatedly contacting both the bank and the dealership - they were able to secure a new deal through Chase. I increased my down payment to $10,000, and apparently the earlier deal hadn’t even been updated properly to reflect that change. I was told the new deal was approved and that I would be getting the car that day. I received one call confirming the deal was a “go,” but not from the GM, but rather from their finance manager: Ahmed. After signing the final contract, I once again found myself repeatedly calling to move the process along. And still - no car. Even though Mark reassured me, I’d get the car yesterday evening. But instead, 5 minutes before close I still had not received so much as a phone call to update me that yet again was not happening. So now it is Sunday, tomorrow is a bank holiday and this has been now over a week and still no call. I am reporting this specific dealership to corporate Volvo and bringing up every concern on their very sketchy financing games and why they think they can make a policy internally that they know directly goes against the lender they recommended. This entire experience was filled with poor communication, contradictory policies, lack of transparency, and zero follow-through. I should not have had to do the dealership’s job just to get a straightforward financing deal completed.

My mom is trying to build a new Volvo and she is getting the run around. All she want is to build a brand new Volvo as they don't have the one she wants and they are giving her the run around. I'm thinking it's because they are not making any money off her at this dealership but it's pretty ridiculous. Anthony and Beau really need to treat people who want to build a custom Volvo like an actual customer. It shouldn't matter if you are buying of their lot or not. Especially if they don't have what she wants.***update*** After this review was posted Mark reached out to my mom and was able to get things going. He made my mom feel better after this unfortunate experience. Hopefully things remain positive. Will keep you updated.

Hands down the best car purchase experience I have had in my 60 plus years. I was looking for a used Volvo. Carson my salesman was knowledgeable and easy to work with. He listened to my needs and showed me some great options that were available. Once we locked in on the vehicle he worked with Toni the sales manager to put a great deal on my trade in and purchase. Olga in finance was also a pleasure to work with. If you are looking for a new or used Volvo this dealership should be at the top of your list!

Shout out to the whole team at Volvo Cars Gilbert . My recent purchase on my 2021 Volvo S60 t5 was absolutely great. Usually buying a vehicle can be very stressful, and challenging. My sales consultant Jordan Pennington was very professional, and helpful throughout the whole process. Answering all my detailed questions regarding my options. Toni and the General Manager was stellar in making sure I was happy in choosing Gilbert Volvo! They made it easy by blowing away the competition. Jordan P and Justin Shannon in finance are the hardest workers in the crew. They both stayed there till almost 11pm to finish up my deal. And still took the time with showing me everything on the car along with getting the car set up with the phone app. I’ve been in customer service sales for over 18yrs and know great service when I experience it. AAA++ rating for me. I’m definitely going back for my next one. Thanks again for my new Volvo!!

Friendly and helpful sales and service staff. I have had my Volvos serviced at this location for more than a decade, and they have always taken great care of me. And the cars. When it was time to replace my 18 year old XC90, Volvo Cars of Gilbert was the no-brainer choice for me.

I had the best experience working with Christian. From the moment I walked in, he was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping me find the right car, not just making a sale. He took the time to answer all my questions, explained every detail clearly, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. What I really appreciate is how patient and honest he was. I never felt pressured, and he made sure I was confident in my decision before signing anything. If you’re looking for someone who truly goes above and beyond, ask for Christian. He’ll take care of you. Couldn’t recommend him more

Have a rough history with the service dept but recently with the new turnover a gentleman named Jacob Davidson went above and beyond after having our XC90 a few weeks. Had great follow up, kept me informed and set expectations and went above and beyond my expectations for the final results. Titles and paychecks don’t get your remembered in the customer service world. Jacob is a true representation of what it means to take care of your customers. For the first time in a while I look forward to the next time I have to get my vehicle serviced with this man working the desk. I hope he’s managing the building with his mentality soon. Thanks again Jacob! Richard W

I’ve been a longtime customer of Volvo Cars Gilbert, and they have consistently taken excellent care of my Volvo vehicles over the years. They are trustworthy, dependable, and always provide service I can feel confident in. I’ve also purchased my last two Volvos (out of five) from this location, and each experience has been just as positive as the last. The team is incredibly helpful, stress-free to work with, kind, and accommodating in every way. They make both the sales and service process smooth, comfortable, and easy. It’s rare to find a dealership you can rely on year after year, but Volvo Cars Gilbert has truly earned my trust and loyalty. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding service and a great car-buying experience.
