Don’t Do It. I bought a 2022 certified pre owned Tiguan. Sales Dept was lackluster to say they least. Attempted ti charge a $200 fee for VIN etching. Salesman stated I would get an insurance discount and it would pay itself it less then a year. Vin etching was supposedly standard practice for this dealer and it was already done (per the salesman)I called my insurance and they stated that’s a lie, no discounts for vin etching. I negotiated the removal of the fee once I told salesperson my insurances response…and lo and behold the vin etching was NOT done. Vehicle was supposed to be cleaned, when I got it there was wrappers and eye glas cleaner on side drivers door. TWO weeks later a check oil light went on. I checked my oil and had NO oil. Bought it back to the dealer, and they sent me on my way and stated nothing was wrong. I got a “free car wash” pass for my troubles. TWO MORE WEEKS pass and my car is smoking bad…bring it back. Entire engine rebuild…. Pick it up, THE SAME DAY..check engine light goes on…. I’m still dealing with this headache. I have corporate involved…just don’t do it.

I recently had to bring my Passat in for a turbo replacement, and even though the service department was really backed up, Trey W. went above and beyond to help me out. He managed to get my car in earlier than originally promised, which was a huge relief. Worst service department. Had my vehicle, needed a new engine. Car in 4/17, out NOVEMBER 11Th!! They could not fix the car and after all this time, it’s returned filthy, making noise in the motor and filthy. They got grease everywhere, driver seat is bad. I have a mountain of out of pocket expenses because of their incompetence. I was told not they are not going to repair anything else and that’s that. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!

Just got my car serviced here and was really impressed. The guys were super helpful and didn’t try to oversell me on anything I didn’t need. They explained everything clearly and got me in and out pretty quickly for my oil change. The waiting area was comfortable and the whole place seemed well-run. They even gave me a heads up about some maintenance coming up soon, which I appreciated. Honest, fair pricing and good work - exactly what you want from a service department. Called and made an appointment today to test drive new Tiguan with General manager Brian. I get there for my 10am appointment and Brian tells the car is Sold per the phone. Now he said he sent me an email while I was driving ! Now wouldn’t it been better to call me so I didn’t waste a hour of my time?

‼️‼️‼️WARNING‼️‼️‼️DONT SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE HERE‼️‼️‼️ On 9/9/25 I brought my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta in for a regular Oil Change as well as a test drive to try to figure out why my car was making a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the front driver side when going over bumps. After waiting for a little over a hour they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with my car and wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee plus tax which I declined. I paid for my oil change and continued my day. Later that day I took my car to Firestone for a diagnostic and they found why my car was making the grinding noises along with a major oil leak in my oil pan gasket (I have pictures) and some other issues which was not mentioned by Volkswagen. The Oil Change/safety inspection was never performed on my vehicle by Volkswagen like they claimed they did. When I left Firestone I went back to Volkswagen and asked to speak to the service manager to try to resolve this in a civil and professional manner but he refused. DON’T service your vehicle here!!!!!!! The service manager John Ramos is a COMPLETE JERK AND HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL/RUDE!!!!! HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIS CUSTOMERS AT ALL!!!!!!! Safe to say I will NOT be coming back here which is to bad because I’ve had my car serviced here MANY times over the last 3 years

I’m writing this review to share my experience at Harte Volkswagen of Meriden, which was unfortunately very disappointing and a complete waste of time. I went to this dealership specifically interested in a Mazda 3 that was listed in their inventory. I worked with a salesperson named Matt Rinaldi and completed a credit application for that vehicle. After waiting over a week, I was told that the Mazda had been sold and that I should look at other cars in their inventory instead. I pointed out another similar vehicle, but after another couple of days, I was told that the bank would only approve me for one specific car: a Volkswagen Taos with 65,000 miles, which I clearly stated I was not comfortable buying due to the high mileage. I was then pressured to take that car, being told that no other dealer would approve us, that this was the “only option,” and that our credit would be “dead” if we didn’t take the deal. When I declined, the finance manager (also named Matt) became extremely unprofessional, raised his voice, and spoke in a very aggressive and intimidating way. At that point, I had to end the conversation. No customer should ever be treated like that for simply choosing not to buy a car. To make things worse, we later went to BMW Hoffman Waterbury, where we found the same Mazda 3, in better condition and at a better price. The sales representative Kimberly Bruno was extremely professional, respectful, and transparent throughout the entire process. She helped us get approved without any manipulation or pressure, and we were able to complete the purchase smoothly. This experience made it very clear that Harte Volkswagen was more interested in pushing a specific vehicle than actually helping the customer. I would not recommend this dealership based on my experience.
